About the author

Dahlia Donovan wrote her first romance series after a crazy dream about shifters and damsels in distress. She prefers irreverent humour and unconventional characters. An autistic and occasional hermit, her life wouldn’t be complete without her husband and her massive collection of books and video games.

- Reviewed in the United States on October 23, 2018Cliff hangers done, ending achieved...and what thrill ride it was. Dead in the Shop is the third and final book in the Grasmere Cottage Mystery series. Dead in the Garden started the journey, only we quickly realized we didn't know as much as we thought we did. Dead in the Pond continued the story, but we were knocked around and couldn't exactly figure out which end was up. And finally, Dead in the Shop rounds out the trilogy and all I have to say is brava!
The whole mystery series keeps you guessing and holding your breath while you try to keep your wits about you, and you can't. It sends you every which way while you try to figure it out, and then slaps you along side the head. WOW! I can't say too much without giving certain things away, but Valor and Bishan fight their way thorugh another brilliant book with brains, a sense of humor, and pudding. Of course pudding. Each character in this series is unique and adds something to the mystery and intrigue...and there were a few times that I wondered about a couple of characters.
I'm giving this book 5 stars. It was a fantastic ending to an amazing series with characters who are memorable and real. Once again, I have to applaud this author for her work and writing characters that are relevant. On top of that, the story is enjoyable, and at times you will find yourself holding your breath as you turn the page. I had to remind myself to breathe more than once. I highly recommend this series and this book. They are must reads and you need to read them in order. You will not be disappointed except for the fact that it did have to come to an end.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 17, 2019I have to admit that what I loved the most about this book was Bish and Val! I really enjoyed how they both grew throughout the trilogy! I’m sad it’s over but I really am glad that the roller coaster they were on eventually made a stop!
- Reviewed in the United States on December 3, 2020What can I say. After reading the first two books of this trilogy, I had to read this one in one sitting as I just had to know what happened. Love the two main characters, Val and Bishan and their two police friends Reggie and Hugh. All the main characters are great and hope to see them again in other mysteries as these Poirot wannabes are perfect detectives! Read the trilogy, you will enjoy it!
- Reviewed in the United States on November 1, 2018In this final installment of the Grasmere Cottage Mystery the killer is finally revealed. It’s been an interesting ride with Valor and Bishan as we try to figure out who and why this person has been killing. Our fellas have been through multiple injuries, multiple deaths and had to deal with a froggy neighbor. This was a light-hearted, cozy mystery that definitely needs to be read as a bundle. I was more interested in the Val and Bishan rather than finding out who the killer really was. When I did find out who it was, it was more of a ‘eh, okay’ kind of thing. I was more interested in their geeky references and seeing them together. It was fun when you got both Bishan and Valor in a scene together.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 20, 2020As the British say, Brilliant! Loved this 3 book series! Crazy plots, great characters and a spectacular ending make for great reading! I felt pain for the two primary characters and sadness for some of the murder victims we had introduced to. I read straight through all 3 books in one day because I needed to find out what happened next.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 12, 2019New author for me, but loved this series and the characters involved.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 30, 2020Bishan and Valor return in thrilling conclusion. The supporting characters are brilliant. Life is messy and chaotic. The realistic autism details are riveting. My only complaint is the skimming of time with few sentences to state months have passed. I would like to have seen more main characters after villain caught.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 16, 2021Valor and Bishan's mystery concludes in the final book Dead in the Shop. This book opens immediately after the big cliffhanger from Dead in the Pond. After Bishan is released from the hospital, both men are no closer to figuring out who the serial killer is. More dead bodies pile up including a personal tragedy for Valor. The serial killer is playing with them and the heat is on as Bishan and Valor race against time to discover the identity. So many twists and turns but a satisfying conclusion :) Definitely one of my favorite murder-mystery whodunnit series. I love finding new authors and now I'm off to start Dahlia's Cosplay Killer series :)
