This was a pretty good read that traversed the thriller/family saga genres fluidly. What made the story so good is that the villain wasn't immediately obvious and I changed my mind every couple of chapters. Two sisters Rachel and Laura grew up in foster care after their mother dies. Laura intent on finding their biological father traces him through social media and invites him back into the family fold hoping for a happy family reunion not just for her own family, comprising her daughter Amy and husband Ash but also for her sister who lives a few houses down, following Rachel's break-up with her boyfriend Paul. 4 and a half stars.

I enjoyed reading the book as far as the story line; however the horrible grammar made it difficult to get through at times. I realize there are differing nuances between American English vernacular and that of the UK, but I’m sure the majority of grammar rules still apply.
I recommend the book for light entertaining reading.

This book in my experience was interesting and engrossing. The characters were realistic without being overly dramatized and not overtly romanticized. They were believable and great psychological and character development even though the setting is UK rather than the US the details were easily transferable. Sometimes the language goes between the two countries although similar is so different that I have to guess on the other hand if it’s too close to home sometimes the details are wrong and asaclimical social worker read psych literature I have to restrain myself not to correct.

Rachel and Laura, the sisters, live a few houses away from one another. Rachel has recently separated from her partner, who has left her for another woman. However she is struggling with the loss. Laura is living with her husband, and daughter, and is trying to maintain her family life. The two sisters have a close bond. It is all about to be torn apart! Not only will you be shocked by how it is torn apart, but the ending will hit you out of the blue! Remember, sometimes even when you know what’s going to happen, you truly don’t know!

The story was a good one, but the ending leaves one hanging. What happens to to the sisters. Does therapy help. Laura and do Paul and Rachel live happily ever after.?
