Dr. NEURO (The Doctor Is In Book 3) Kindle Edition

4.6 4.6 out of 5 stars 2,540 ratings

Red flag: I’m crushing hard on a broody brain surgeon who keeps his emotions close to the vest.

But hello, pot. Meet kettle. I’m the woman who, many years ago when I was young and naïve, left a man at the altar and hasn’t been in a relationship since.

Dr. Nick Raines is a brilliant neurosurgeon, hot as sin, and the newest doctor on the popular reality show The Doctor Is In, and I’m the woman who was tasked with stealing him away from his current hospital and convincing him to head up a brand-new facility aching to get his brilliance on their team.

He declined their offer on account of staying in New York for his little girl, and truthfully, my contact with him as his headhunter should’ve ended there.

But it didn’t, and now I’m wading a little too far in the deep end of the adult-emotions pool with Dr. Silent-and-Broody.

And if that weren’t already problematic enough, the world is a little too small, and my horrible past decisions are about to cause one giant complication.

Do two red flags cancel each other out? Or do they set you up for double the heartbreak?

    NO SPOILERS!

Dr. Neuro was a sexy, funny, charming, and irresistible standalone romantic comedy in the St. Luke’s Docuseries, and it has been my FAVORITE novel from Max Monroe to date! The storyline, characters, and everything in between were off-the-charts amazing, and I loved all of it with my entire heart and soul. Max Monroe completely blew me away and exceeded all of my expectations with Nick and Charlotte’s story, and I honestly couldn’t have loved it more. I’ve gone on a Max Monroe binge recently, but their books are truly one of a kind, and I just couldn’t help myself. Max Monroe is an absolute MUST READ author/author duo, and everything they’ve written has been pure romantic comedy gold. If you haven’t read their books yet, you need to one-click all of them ASAP!

The storyline was phenomenal. The plot completely took me by surprise, especially later on as the book progressed. I didn’t fully know what to expect going into Dr. Neuro, but I couldn’t have been more pleasantly surprised. I absolutely loved every single moment from beginning to end, and was more than thrilled with how Nick and Charlotte’s story turned out. The addictive storyline, extremely lovable characters, and perfect balance of laugh-out-loud humor and swoon-worthy romance were a winning combination. Max Monroe truly outdid themselves with Dr. Neuro, and I was ecstatic with the conclusion.

The characters were out of this world amazing. Nick Raines and Charlotte Hollis completely stole my heart, and I fell head over heels in love with them. They were incredibly lovable and relatable characters, and I felt an immediate connection with them. Nick was first mentioned in Scoring the Billionaire (Bad Boy Billionaires Book 3), and he wasn’t painted in the best light. I was apprehensive going into Dr. Neuro because I didn’t know what to expect with his character, but he completely redeemed himself. Nick was so much better than I hoped he would be, and Charlotte was his perfect counterpart. They were a match made in heaven, and it was an absolute delight watching their love story unfold. I loved Nick and Charlotte’s personalities and red-hot chemistry together, and how their relationship progressed throughout. I loved reading the book from both Nick and Charlotte’s point of view, and all of their banter and interactions with each other. Most of the secondary characters were amazing as well, and I loved getting to see a few familiar faces again. They were an excellent addition to the story, and made me love it even more. Nick and Charlotte’s journey was an entertaining adventure, and although there were some up and down (as well as shocking) moments, I was so freaking happy with the conclusion to their story. It was absolutely perfect and had me smiling like a fool.

Dr. Neuro was a sexy, charming, hilarious, and absolute MUST READ standalone romantic comedy, and I would HIGHLY recommend it! Max Monroe did a phenomenal job with Nick and Charlotte’s story, and I was beyond ecstatic with the outcome. Dr. Neuro and the entire St. Luke’s Docuseries were exceptional and truly unforgettable romantic comedies, and I honestly can’t recommend them enough. I am completely obsessed with Max Monroe’s books, and I’m so freaking excited to dive in to the Mavericks Tackle Love series!

I have to be completely up front and honest here for a minute. Dr. Neuro most likely would have been a five-star read for me had I not read Scoring the Billionaire first. If you haven't read either book you're probably wondering why. The star of Dr. Neuro, Nick Raines, was not portrayed very nicely (for good reasons) in Scoring the Billionaire. That had an effect on how I viewed him going into Dr. Neuro. He completely redeemed himself in this book, but I still had the ghosts of his past in my head the entire time.

So, yeah, I was surprised to find that I liked Nick. He may have made some poor decisions in the past, but he was a changed person. Everything he did in life, he now did for his daughter Lexi. Their relationship was sweet, and I loved reading about the two of them. Despite having a great job and Lexi in his life, Nick was still missing something. That something was Charlotte.

Charlotte was a hoot. She knew what she wanted and went for it. I loved that she had no problem putting herself out there. Charlotte had just what Nick needed. She brought spontaneity and fun to his life. I adored their relationship, including all the ups and downs. I especially liked the clever way Max Monroe created the climax.

Another thing that surprised me about this book was how little the docuseries was in it. There were mentions here and there, but it wasn't as prominent as it was in the first couple of books in the series. I didn't miss it, but I thought there would be more.

Overall, Dr. Neuro was a great romance read. It brought back some characters I've loved from past novels and introduced me to some fun new ones. Dr. Neuro was also filled with the humor I've come to expect from Max Monroe. I would highly recommend it and the rest of this series to readers who like rom-coms.

5.0 out of 5 stars Doctor Doctor give me the news I got a bad case of loving you!

Doctor Doctor, give me the news I've got a bad case of lovin' you!

Time for us to meet the head of Neurological surgery, Dr Nick Raines.

Now, if you have read the Billionaire Bad Boys series, you will remember Nick - he is Winnie's daughter's baby daddy who skipped out on her for a job.

I didn't know how Max Monroe were going to redeem him after the way I felt about him, but redeem him they did.

In fact, I liked him a lot more than I thought I would! I liked that he dropped everything to be a father to Lexi.

Enter Charlotte - I freaking adore her. She knows what she wants, and she goes after it - and she want Nick. And plus, I think we would be great partners at trivia nights, since I have a head full of useless knowledge and like giving teams weird names.

I loved how they are together. She pulls him right out of his comfort zone right from the start, and he adores her for it. But will it be enough?

The road to true happiness is never a smooth one, and there are a few speed bumps on the way there for Nick and Charlotte, however I loved every word of their story.

And I can't forget the little scene stealer, Nick and Winnie's girl Lexi. There is nothing that I don't adore about this girl!

Dr Neuro is a cute, sweet and funny story, with a few heartaches thrown in for good measure.

Can't wait to see what this dynamic duo brings us next.

4.0 out of 5 stars HEA for Nick.
Reviewed in Australia on May 3, 2018
When we first were introduced to Nick way back in Winnie’s story he was an egotistical, selfish jerk. To finally have his story we now understand why and his misconstrued view of the world. It was nice to see him trying to be in his daughters life while working his butt off the rest of the time. Charlotte was a breathe of fresh air but to then find her history with Winnie was a surprise. I was glad things worked as they did and everyone got their HEA.

These two haven't failed me before, and they haven't again!
My heart knows when I'm reading a Max Monroe book, it gets twisted, but knows from experience that it will work properly again (eventually)

    I loved it!
