Dry Ridge to Redemption (Rocket Roberts Book 2) Kindle Edition
Rocket is back.
For Rocket and Dot, life at Broken Ride Acres rolls along—hammering out iron, adopting horses others would put down, and enjoying arguments in the martial arts ring.
Breakfast on the front porch had become a simple ritual with Mike walking over from his new house being built.
Rocket is learning to be her calm and caring Jolie self again—sometimes. Putting aside the time in prison, marrying deputy Punchy is on the back burner… but there didn't seem to be any hurry.
Until Manuel shows up with a problem
From the right side of Atlanta, a mother and her teen daughter are scared and running for their lives. The men chasing them have shown no hesitancy to bury them in a swamp for what they know.
Three thousand miles later, they land at Broken Ride Acres. Owner and horse trainer Jolie "Rocket" Richards, Dot the blacksmith and former MMA fighter, and Pink the dog, are their salvation. But only if they follow the rules and do the work.

About the author

Bestselling, award-winning author, Baer Charlton holds a degree in Social-Anthropology from the University of California at Irvine. His many interests have led him around the world in search of the different and unique.
As an internationally recognized photojournalist, he tracked mountain gorillas, was a podium for a Barbary Ape, communicated in sign language with an Orangutan named Boolon, kissed a kangaroo, and many other wild experiences in between--or he was just monkeying around.
There are no more complex and wonderful stories than ones coming from human experience. Mr. Charlton's stories are all driven by the characters you come to think of as friends, if not family.

- Reviewed in the United States on June 27, 2021Charlton often writes about "the family chosen". This is no exception. He finds a way to add some humor through characters both human and animal to a very bad situation. Along the way peppering the story with "fun facts" about the rodeo, animals, weapons and anything else that fits the narrative. I couldn't put it down.
I would also recommend book one "Dry Bridge of Vengeance"
- Reviewed in the United States on July 26, 2021I got caught up in the story. I want more. I want to know how their lives turn out. What about the dog? Where did the horses go?
- Reviewed in the United States on July 22, 2022When I was growing up there lots of action books for male young adults but the action options for women were lacking. Stories like this fill the gap and show than women are equal (or stronger) than those shown in the historical male dominated action literary field.
