This is another great story in the Dunskey Castle series! I loved this story as we are taking a new direction - faeries!

I won't say much of the story - read it for yourself! Why should you read this story? Jane Stain has created a wonderful past world with time travel in it as well as using authentic dialect. It's fun to note that you can easily grasp the meaning by saying it aloud. Also, the characters are quite colorful and memorable. Donnan and Suellen are definitely colorful in that they are so very human - we can relate to them and others in the story.

Another reason I love this story (as well as others in this series) is that it makes a great escape. You are drawn into the story. Even if you haven't read any of the other books in the series, you can read this an not feel lost. The author reflects back as needed subtly while keeping the story moving along. Once you read this, you will want to read more!

If you like a story that gives you a great escape, has action and adventure, has some romance, has humor, and has historical accuracy - then you will love this book... and the rest of the series! I can't wait to read the next one as I have already preordered it!

Fun and entertaining yet mixed with romance and history … clean of sexual details found in other series would make a great movie or series on tv … good for teens also

I found this story to be difficult to follow. No clear cut storyline but rather bits and pieces twisted together. Hoping the next in the series will exp!ain some of the troubling conflicts.

The books are becoming more like chapters in a large series which is fine, and while they can be read as stand alone to a point the characters get muddled a little if you don’t read them in order. So while I enjoyed the story, they fall in love too fast and I obviously missed some previous books to be able to follow this completely.

    Format: Paperback
Ashley was Connell's girlfriend in the early days at the Renaissance Faire when they were teenagers. Now Thomas has upped the advertising contract the faire has with the advertising company she works for. She sends her coworkers, Suellen and MaryBeth, to enjoy the faire only to return with them the next day after Suellen reports meeting a woman in a white flowing gown with a crown of flowers and leaves and wearing a silver ring handwrought into Celtic knots. Ashley knows the described woman was her old friend Kelsey, now a graduate of the druid university, a druid herself and the theif who stole the silver axe, a time travel amulet, used by the McGregors. As the three girls leave the grounds by a back way, they are caught in the vortex of four McGregor guys traveling to the Scottish coast of the Irish Sea near to the underground fortress their clan has been assigned to protect from the Romans around the time 70 A.D. It was such a good read accompanying Suellen and Donnan's map-following adventure toward love and the Fairies' magical silver horn which ends with the Druids taking the horn and the Fairies taking Donnan! Can't wait for the war, Druids Or Fairies, Dunskey Castle #14. Volunteered this review after reading an ARC!
