Experimental Heart Omnibus 1: Books 1-3 (Boxsets & Bundles of Lumaraeon) Kindle Edition

4.5 out of 5 stars 55 ratings

The first THREE books of the Experimental Heart series in one collection.
Includes Destiny, Pieces, and Secrets.

For a relic of war, death is my inevitable release.

Most people can’t kill without regret, but I don’t have that luxury. I am a tank-created nu-human, and my sole purpose hinges on the whims of my tyrannical maniac creator. Town annihilations to political assassinations—I never disobey.

Until I want more.

When I escape beyond the realm of my former master, my only goal is safety—freedom—a life I always wanted. I should have known my creator would send deadly pursuers. He wants to remind me of what I’m never fated to have.

Then destiny tempts me with the unexpected.

When a dragon—a creature said to be long extinct—offers me a chance at true freedom from my former master’s control, I don't know what to believe. In my line of work, trust kills. But something is different about this creature....

With nothing to lose, I agree to his terms. Now, I wait. Will he give me the freedom I crave, or did I seal my fate?

EXPERIMENTAL HEART OMNIBUS 1 is the first three books in the Experimental Heart epic dystopian contemporary fantasy series. If you love strong willed heroines overcoming the torment of their past, fate vs choice, and a dash of slow burn romance, dive into the world of Lumaraeon today!

I saw this on Facebook and checked it out on kindle unlimited. I was weary of how long it was and the first chapter or two took a bit to get me hooked but I’m glad I kept reading! There is incredible detail to the world it takes place in and constantly keeps you guessing. Slow burning romance is well dragged out and now I’m onto book 4 in the series. I will say, a good edit to this set and the next book (I don’t know about the rest) would push it over the edge for me. There were quite a bit of errors into book 2 and 3 but didn’t take away from the plot line. Worth a read for sure!

    BOOK 1
This book was amazing! It has a little bit of everything! If you enjoy fantasy, paranormal, science fiction, humor, adventure, and I could go on and on. The characters and the story are very detailed. This is a great long story and I had a hard time putting it down. I kept thinking, I'll put it down at the next chapter, and then I just had to go on. I can not wait to read the next in the series! Oh and I LOVE LOVE LOVE this cover! Fantastic!!

    BOOK 2
This is another epic addition to the series! I can't possibly say enough about it.

    BOOK 3
This series is so addictive! I just can't get enough!

I was gifted this set as an ARC but will gladly provide an honest and completely voluntary review!

Shannon Pemrick’s Experimental Heart series is a fabulous one that keeps on getting more and more exciting, more and more complicated and more and more fun with each book. It’s got pretty much everything from actions and adventure to romance and it is totally addictive so this omnibus addition is a “must get” for newcomers to the series. If you like great world-building, plots, overarching story arcs and characters then this series is definitely the one for you. Frankly, I could go on and on with praises. The books definitely deserve it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that each of these books is most definitely one to read, and it is easy to highly recommend the omnibus books 1-3 set.

The setting in this omnibus is excellent. I would have given it 5 stars if not for the needed editing.

It feels like a cross between post-apocalyptic/modern/paranormal. I haven't come across that before and it was refreshing. The main characters gave us backstory and development while some of the side characters could have used a little bit of depth (I'm sure there is something behind Blaze's behavior).

I am heart-broken over Raikaden and am hoping for a resolution in the next set. Onward!

This box set is one sure fit, emotional, deep, action-filled, smoldering journey. An experiment that defied all logic in fighting to live freely. The character Eira and her comrades will have you deeply addicted to this set of stories surrounding their lives and unexpected love interest. there is so much detail, drama, and growth within these books as well that you will at some points related to all the things experienced. I couldn't stop reading in hopes for happy outcomes and I wasn't disappointed with the heavy mountain of secrets coming to light as only a genetic experiment can contain. An amazing heartfelt read. I am voluntarily reviewing this boxset after receiving a free copy.

Awesome series! I love the combination of different characters. It was futuristic yet reminded you of a time before modernism. It has magic, shapeshifters, enhanced humans and everything in between. It is a story of the dedication of the people to try to make their lives better by getting rid of there overlord. The story is a major page turner, but it did end on a cliffhanger. I can't wait to read the next book to see what happens. I have been given a free copy of these books for my honest review.

Sooooooo....... I love these characters ya'll ...... the author doesn't leave any one out ... all the side characters have a role .... everyone comes in to play at one point and time.... It's just really well written .... Rai ... is my favorite thing on this planet .... so happy I was given a free copy from my buddies at Hidden Gem for my honest opinion... as I am now reading the fourth book in the series .... would not have picked this on my own .... but totally worth the read.

I wanted to give this series 3 stars, because the setting and creativity shows promise but here we are again with another disastrous set of books that haven't even received cursory editing. The story is a mess. The setting is a mess. If one more person giggles I might stab my kindle.
Look, authors, you are creative and we love you. But get off your damn high horse and allow a real editor to help you. Pay the money, put in the time. Editors help you identify not only grammar mistakes but also when your story has taken a hard right turn and no longer makes sense. We can scrape the crud off and make your story shine. I don't think I can stomach another one of these self-published monstrosities. Hell, I would be willing to put in a year of my time doing rewrites with the author of this story because the creativity is there but none of the nuance.

I really like the cultural barrier, the twists, gentle humor and of course the characters. They are well thought through.

I more or less sailed through books 1-3 in this series, stopping to wonder at the details. I can hardly wait to continue on to book 4.
