Eli's Triumph: A Reapers MC Novella (1001 Dark Nights) Kindle Edition

4.3 out of 5 stars 922 ratings

From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Joanna Wylde comes a new story in her Reapers MC series…

Peaches Taylor spent the last seven years slinging drinks and dodging drunks at the Starkwood Saloon. Some might call it a dead end job, but to her it was an investment—another six months, and she’d have enough money to buy the place.

Life would've been perfect if Eli hadn’t come home.

Eli King is ready to settle down. He stood by his brothers when they needed him, paying the price for their freedom with his own. Now it’s time to claim his reward—the Starkwood Saloon. He’s got the cash to buy the bar, the skills to run it, and just one person standing between him and his dream: Peaches Taylor.

She’s been driving him crazy since they were kids, and not in the good way. When she was six, she shoved a spider down his pants. When he was ten, he locked her in a closet overnight. Then she hot-wired his car at seventeen, and things got ugly…

They’re adults now, and the Starkwood isn’t a toy to fight over—it’s the hill they’ll die on. No prisoners. No compromises. No mercy.

Peaches Taylor and Eli King are going to war.

**Every 1001 Dark Nights novella is a standalone story. For new readers, it’s an introduction to an author’s world. And for fans, it’s a bonus book in the author’s series. We hope you'll enjoy each one as much as we do.**

Wow! I was so excited when I saw the Eli's Triumph by Joanna Wylde was releasing. I have been reading the Reapers MC series since the first book released back in 2013. I have stood in several long lines at book signings just to meet this author. Eli's Triumph brings part of the Reapers world full circle. Readers are finally getting an in depth explanation of some of the events that happened in Reapers Fire. At the time those events just seemed like a moment in time that would propel that story to another level. What the readers didn't realize was that Eli King not only help save Gage and Tinker's realities but also saved the club. Now readers will get the full story and Eli King will finally get his happily ever after. He's earned his patch, he's earned his place in the club, he's earned their respect, and he's earned the right to own the Starkwood Saloon. Now he has to earn the love, the respect, and trust of the woman who has meant everything to him his entire life. If he takes his rightful ownership of the Starkwood Saloon he could be throwing away his chance of winning Peaches Taylor's heart.

Peaches has been saving to buy the Starkwood Saloon. She's worked there her entire adult life. She has worked hard for the bar and now Eli King is out of prison and buying the place out under her. She is not going to let that happen. Eli has taken too much from her all her life. The only problem is her heart. Her heart is telling her one thing and her mind is telling her something else. Nothing is ever easy with the Reapers MC. Learning to love with your entire heart and learning to sacrifice is what the club is all about.

Eli and Peaches have earned their place in the Reapers MC. They have earned the right to claim their happily ever afters.

Eli's Triumph by Joanna Wylde is just another perfect layer of goodness in the Reapers MC series.

Many years ago, Reaper’s Property was the very first MC romance I’ve ever read. Since then I’ve read lots of other MC romance, but Joanna Wylde’s series has remained on of my all-time favorites.

After having spent the last 5 years of his life in prison for a crime he didn’t commit, Eli King is ready to return home and claim the legacy that was promised to him for his sacrifice. The only problem is there is another one who also has a claim to the Starkwood Saloon. Peaches Taylor has worked at the saloon for the last 7 years and is now its de facto manager. She has saved nearly enough to make a bid of her own, and after Eli went to prison, the owner sort of strongly hinted that he would consider selling to her. There is just a tiny little hitch: the Reapers are a silent partner in the saloon, which conveniently serves them as a front for less savory business, so naturally they are going to back Eli.

Peaches has been Eli’s nemesis since they were children, and when they come face to face again, the sparks fly just as they used to, only this time the tension between them has another layer. Eli always had a thing for Peaches and as much as Peaches resents Eli intruding into what she considers her business, she can’t stop lusting after him.

I really liked how the business conflict and sexual tension between Peaches and Eli sort of merged and drove the plot. Eli is a strong alpha biker who knows to temper his strength, but he doesn’t mind using it against Peaches. But Peaches isn’t one to take it lying down, quite the opposite, she dishes out as good as she gets…

If I would criticize anything, then that there are too many flashbacks (especially in relation to the overall short length of the book). Some background on the relationship between Peaches and Eli is necessary to understand their present complicated relationship and also to see where Eli is coming from emotionally, but it felt a bit too much to me, since I really liked reading about their current developing relationship and felt a bit disappointed each time that was interrupted by yet another flashback. Also, the reliance on recurring characters is an important factor why I enjoy MC romance so much. To me this was one of the weaker installments of the series, but I still enjoyed it a lot.

I loved the way Eli went about resolving the conflict between Peaches’ and his claim on the saloon since it was quite unexpected and rather sweet. It took a lot of fortitude on Eli’s part to go that road, but he did it out of love. So overall 4.25 stars from me.

Eli and Peaches had me rolling from the very start of their story! Their antics, pranks, and torture of each other put a smile on my face and made me LOL more than once. A story that starts with a childhood rivalry, ends with a love that really proves the saying "There's a thin line between love and hate"!

Peaches grew up in the Reapers MC. Her mom's boyfriend was a Reaper, so even as a child she was part of the MC world. When, at the tender age of 5, things changed, Peaches couldn't see past the boy that was taking over her world. One prank led to another, until they were ripped apart by a crazy set of circumstances.

Eli was saved by the Reapers MC, and his uncle, who took him in after his mother's death. He grew up way to fast, and even at a young age, knew how to give as good as he got. Eli would do anything for the Reapers MC, sacrifice anything asked of him, because of what they mean to him. He gave up a lot for the brotherhood, but when he comes back home, he knows what he wants and will let nothing stand in his way.

This book was so much fun! I loved Peaches and Eli's crazy antics, and hilarious interactions. I can't help but laugh at them. This story is a good introduction to the Reapers MC, but can totally be read as a stand alone. It will definitely leave you wanting more of the Reapers, and looking for the next read in the series!

I read this book in a day. And that was a 14 hour workday for me.

    It is amazing!

Unfortunately, it is also short seeing as it is a novella, but the romance feels natural and fulfilled. Peaches and Eli have known each other since childhood and sparks have always flown, their personalities just sort of got in the way.

Eli's Triumph is a quick and romantic read, and I was surprised by several funny scenes in it. Reading a novella by Joanna Wylde always reminds me how good a writer she really is, since I normally do no like this style.

You do not have to have read the other books in the Reapers MC series to enjoy this story.

I only wish that the author would release a full length novel - it has been years - and get back to the Silver Bastards and Devil's Jacks MC series as well.

This was such an amazing read. From the moment that I started reading this I was in love with it. This book had me hooked from the very beginning.

The story is so true to life that it is unreal. I have lots of friends who ride and are in MC's and I can see several of them in these awesome characters. You cannot help but fall in love with them. You want to see them overcome whatever may be in there way.

This has got to be read. Especially if you love bikes and the men and women who ride, you will definitely enjoy this book.
