When shy programmer, Charlie, is dragged to a "Magic Mike” club in Hollywood by his co-workers, the last thing he expects is to be pulled onstage. But when he’s approached by Ramon, a dancer whose only focus is to bring him pleasure, something awakens in Charlie that can’t be denied.

Yet heated attraction only goes so far when one man dreams of true love and a life finally fulfilled, and the other is still grieving the one he lost, and the mistake that cost him everything.

Can a realist and a dreamer from two different worlds move forward and build a future together, or will their painful pasts keep them from fulfilling their destiny?

***This standalone is a M/M love story with graphic sex.***

We asked for an Encore to Unforgiven and Ruth has delivered! This is a very unique follow up to her first M/M novel. After reading that novel, I was left intrigued and wanting to know more about Ramon. This is his story - he's a performer who not only mesmerizes his audience, but makes them feel like they're the only one in the room. It's no wonder that Charlie, a timid and sometimes insecure young programmer who was a second away from missing the chance that would change his life, falls for him hard and fast. Turns out this shy guy is not so shy after all. This is the not only the story of how opposites attract, it's also a lovely example of how love helps us discover and embrace the best parts of us. Love heals our grief. Love gives us strength. And Ramon and Charlie need it to overcome their challenges.
I've been a fan of Ruth's work for a long time and one of the reasons why is that with each novel, I feel like I've made a whole new set of friends. I love the depth she gives her characters and how she makes us truly care about them and the outcome of their story. It's always very apparent that Ruth truly cares for her characters and that adds a lovely quality to her writing. Encore is no exception. As with her other novels, this one is also set in LA and I always love how she describes her city. You aren't just reading, you're immersed. Ruth's books aren't just stories, they're experiences. Comedy, drama, romance - Wonder Woman Ruth can do it all!

Charlie spends his quiet life taking care of his sister and writing code. When his co workers are all going to a male strip club for a bachelorette party he reluctantly tags along. When he is hauled up on stage he can't believe it. But a dancer, Ramon, dances right into Charlie's life the way it is supposed to be for them. Ruth Clampett writes an awesome love story between Ramon and Charlie. Charlie realizes he's been out of life for too long. This sweet, hot, and awesome love story follows the ups and downs of a relationship like any other. I enjoyed reading "Encore" I met Ramon as a supporting roll in "Unforgiven" And happily reconnects with the characters from that book too. A super m/m stand alone story. Worth the read

I really enjoyed Ruth Clampett's last MM romance, and I was incredibly intrigued by this synopsis. Unfortunately, this story fell flat for more. Even with likable characters and steamy scenes, Encore just didn't hit the mark for me.

Charlie is smart and attractive hero with a huge heart. He takes care of his sister, works hard at his job, and even though he yearns for more in the relationship department, he seems content with his life until he meets Ramon. After meeting Ramon, readers get a little more depth into his character, and they get to see that he is more broken than originally thought.

Ramon, although seeming to be an easy-going and charismatic hero, has many burdens and demons as well. He definitely has the allure that makes him enticing though, and it is easy to see why Charlie would be drawn to his character.

The plot progression and development of the story is where it began to fall apart for me as the reader. I was never able to full invest in them as a couple, and not for a lack of sexual chemistry. The standoffish behavior of Ramon in the beginning did not allow me to connect with them. The overwhelming insecurities or reasons they couldn't be together seem to continuously come, and they were easily solved, almost surface level resolutions to their issues. For those that love an HEA, there will be no disappointment.

I really wanted to love this one. I adored Ruth Clampett's Animate Me and her previous MM novel Unforgiven, but this one just didn't do it for me. I needed more substance from them as a couple, and I needed more focus on a single conflict with a bigger climax to keep me engaged. I will certainly return to this author again, as I have enjoyed her novels and writing style in the past.

Encore was a sweet, sexy read. Charlie, the quintessential geek, finds himself in his 20s without a relationship and with a sister who depends on him. A chance encounter brings him into Ramon's orbit and things start sizzling. The attraction is visceral and despite some bumps in the road and some differences between them, they do end up having their happy ending. An enjoyable read from start to finish!

Ruth Clampett does it again with a book that takes you on a roller coaster of emotion. She makes us believe that love is still possible in the City of Angels. Clampett is one of those authors that I automatically one-click because she has never disappointed me.

Make sure you have your B.O.B. handy for this one handed read.

I really like a good flow to the books I read, but I feel this book flowed too fast, with not enough information for me. I feel like it jumped too quickly from one thing to another.
I really liked both Charlie and Ramon but I found them too needy for me.
I love when characters need that reassurance that they are wanted and needed but I felt like both Charlie and Roman needed it a bit too much. They should have felt more confident in theirselves and their relationship.
And I really wished we had more of Ramon's POV. I wanted to hear his thoughts so badly!!
This probably sounds like I didn't enjoy the book but i did! I liked it but I just wish it was more!!

Another fab M/M read by Ruth Clampett.
This tells the story of 2 completely different characters Ramon the exotic dancer and Charlie the quiet computer programmer... they both have troubled backgrounds in life but would this work for or against them??
This story was full of emotions and unlike any storyline ive read lately.
