Enough Time Kindle Edition

5.0 out of 5 stars 2 ratings

In a paranormal tale that blends time travel, reincarnation, and historical horror fiction, you’re too late to save the love of your life from being murdered. This tragic history repeats itself every forty years, but now it’s only been thirty-five years and it’s time to break the cycle.

In 2020, Emma Ranahan laments that her annual torment is about to begin again. Every January, she has horrible nightmares about torture and murder. None of it makes any sense to her. The only thing she remembers clearly are the words Hero, Victim, Beast, and Friend.

In 1865, Colonel Beauregard Kensington, war hero, psychopath, racist, and cannibal, butchers former slave Emmeline Ronaghan. Captain Philip Daweson, pays with his life, but is unable to prevent the murder of the woman he loves. Major Obadiah O’Dale kills the colonel and cleans up the mess.

In 1905, 1945, and 1985, descendants of the original four players re-enact the events with the same tragic results.

Imagine
Somewhere in Time with lots of blood.

Having started early, will the scenario play out again, or can the cycle of death be stopped? And is everyone who they think they are?

With a violent paranormal romance and a female protagonist desperate to change her fate, this supernatural horror book will leave readers captivated by its dark and tragic love story.

Blurb With a violent paranormal romance and a female protagonist desperate to change her fate, this supernatural horror book will leave readers captivated by its dark and tragic love story. Bailey, a lifeguard with a heavy metal heart and a Jack Daniel's addiction, has long avoided the deep sea since a haunting accident. In the bustling heart of Manhattan, Tatiana, a once-reserved advertising executive, stumbles upon a relic that grants her unprecedented influence over her surroundings. Sierra's first American Thanksgiving promises to be unforgettable when her college roommate, Zoe, invites her to the Samuels family feast. But as the ten-hour banquet unfolds, it becomes clear this is no ordinary holiday gathering. The people of Wicker thought the mountain belonged to them—purchased with blood, sweat, and resilience. They forgot the deal their ancestors made. They forgot that their mountain belonged to something ancient, powerful, and hungry. Nameless, powerful beings, lost in their hunger and forgotten pasts, roam the streets after sunset. But an awakening stirs within them, sharpening their minds and unearthing memories of a dark history and an even darker future.

Buja's latest release contains a clever twist about situations repeating themselves over time. I went into this book blind so it took me a bit to understand how the plot was unfolding. I won't give away spoilers, but I will say the plot centers around a series of killings that occurs every 40 years with the characters involved in those deaths giving us their stories in real time.

I've read the author's previous two novels in The King Of The Wood series so I thought I knew what I was getting into with Enough Time. Man, was I wrong. While Buja's sense of humor still shines in this novel, he turns the more gristly aspects of the story up to ten. There are many scenes of gruesome violence in this book, so it is not for the squeamish.

Three cheers for Buja who has taken his writing to the next level with Enough Time. The novel is calculating, pushes boundaries, and once you understand the mechanics of the plot, it's a white knuckle read. True modern lovers of horror need to read this novel.
