FLICKER Kindle Edition
Monday Blue
Strings of fairy lights make horrible extension cords for personal pleasure devices. I found out the hard way when I started a fire with my excessive use of a high-powered massager. But to be fair, electricity has always been out to get me. Okay, maybe we’re more like frenemies. My flatiron depends on it, but I also fear the zap it sends through me on an unwelcome, regular basis.
How do I explain this to the tattooed, hot electrician that shows up at my front door?
BEAR
She was festive, I’ll give her that. The jerry-rigged self-satisfaction station Monday Blue had in her bedroom was unique. Hell, it was flashing to a beat. Ever since I checked her fuse box, I wanted to fix a whole lot more than her current. Blinky lights have never been so tempting before.
There’s a strict no fraternizing policy between the apartment residents and our family-run electric company. I have no way to rationalize the humongous, naked mural she’s painted of me on her wall. I need to face the girl of my dreams and demand she see things my way.
Can Bear and Monday turn each other on long enough to let a flicker become a spark?

From the Back Cover
Poor Monday Blue shorts out the power to her apartment building with a personal massager. The electrician that shows up at her door is hot enough to shock her system.
Of course, they can never date because residents of her building and employees of Hanning Electric are not allowed to add voltage to each other's pants.
Instead, Monday paints a portrait of Bear in his birthday suit on her wall. Full size. And you know what I mean. *winks with both eyes*
When Bear has to come for a return visit he blows his fuse. He must convince the woman of his dreams to stop hating him and stop painting him.
Will the Flickers of passion start a fire or melt their crossed wires?

- Reviewed in the United States on January 4, 2025I absolutely love Bear and Mondays story! Her apprehension and trouble with electric matches well with his no fear and ability to manipulate and work with electric. The drama with her mom and Poncy makes the story the perfect combination of romance and drama.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 10, 2022This book had me laughing, smiling, and shaking my head. Monday Blue was a hoot! The story is told from Monday's and Bear's point of views. Monday and electricity are acquaintances,. She knows that electricity does not get along with her. Just look at he situation with Veiny! Then Bear comes along; he is the electrician that service her apartment complex. After meeting, Bear cannot seem to stay away from Monday. Despite his attraction, he knows he cannot get involved due too his contract with the apartment complex. Monday's mother is planning Monday's future with a man with means, but will it succeed. I enjoyed the story. It was fun but had a good message about family. I did question a couple of issues but they we're not deal breakers. This is an adult read with lots of innuendo and sexy times.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 23, 2024Very enjoyable contemporary romance between an art teacher and an electrician that meet when there’s a blown transformer at her apartment. It’s a bit of instalove which is not my favorite genre, but it wasn’t too too much in this book as they took their relationship very slow. The silliness came with her boyfriend at the start of the book and her family. Her ex was written as an entitled pompous jerk and it was over the top with his antics. Not realistic at all. Her mother is also status obsessed and this is emphasized almost to the end. I found the book a bit uneven between trying for humor then going for serious drama. It seems light hearted then a tornado hits or a dangerous accident occurs. Still, I found the art descriptions some of the most enjoyable parts and that added a nice element to the book. Bear is a perfect book boyfriend. Monday gets her backbone and the book improves after that. There is an epilogue with an HEA. No cheating or triggers.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 20, 2022I read this via my ku subscription and am leaving my review voluntarily.
Triggers:
family drama, an aggressive (ex) boyfriend
Spoilers:
Monday, artist and teacher. She just wants to live life her way. She feels pressure from her mom to be part of a "higher social standing".
Bear, artist and part time electrician. burned by his long term girlfriend now he is busy running his dads electrical company while his dad recovers from an illness.
I'm a late night reader and I was laughing out loud often. The two main characters had a connection from their first meeting. This book was a nice break from reality.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 12, 2022Except for the electricity coming after Monday Blue you want to be just like her, spunky caring, talented and carefree. Growing up I always seemed to get zapped by the electric fence, so I guess you can say I have a little Monday in me lol. Bear he’s the guy you dream of not afraid to show his feelings, (and it doesn’t hurt he’s easy on the eyes) takes care of his parents but has room in his heart to share his love with others and share his family. When Monday & Bear met on a dark cold night sparks fly he knew that moment she was the one but it was complicated & could jeopardize his father’s business. I just loved their story, Debra Anastasia doesn’t disappoint; you will laugh, cry and want to read it all over again when you are done.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 24, 2024Monday and Bear meet when he was fixing the electric outlets in her apartment building. She was an art teacher and he was an electrician/woodworking. Together they manage to get their lives together as well as their families. A good read.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 16, 2022Just couldn't get into this one. The writing is odd and feels like it jumps around. There's not a solid flowing thought to be found. Chapters seem to end abruptly. Half the time it takes too much work to be able to understand what the author is trying to convey and I find myself rereading whole sentences and sometimes full paragraphs to get it. Too bad, because the characters seemed like they had potential. There's just too many other books on my list to bother wasting time here.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 11, 2022Debra Anastasia must be an absolute blast/hurricane/bolt of lightning to hang out with. Her sense of humor alone has me thinking I need to be her penpal!
Flicker is both ridiculously entertaining and swoony romancing. No need to dress up the words. Anastasia has an electric ability to spark this Flicker and make it a full-fledged burn.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved Bear and Monday
Monday and Bear are the cutest. I loved this book. Love at first sight for this Electrician and Teacher/Artist. Laughter, sadness and swoon at the way Bear loves and cares for Monday. I love the way this author writes, storyline always flow well. Loved the reference to Helena Huntings resident squirrel that she recently encountered.
