Fall For Me (The Rock Gods Book 1) Kindle Edition

4.4 out of 5 stars 931 ratings

Entertainment journalist, Ryan Pierce, meets the infamous bad-boy rocker, Dagger Drummond, and walks away with a great interview and a scandalous news bit that has the potential to turn the music world on its ear. Exposing the story would boost Ryan's career, but it would also come with the risk of ruining Dagger's privacy – and possibly his Rock God status.

The unlikely friendship that develops between Dagger and Ryan brings Ryan to question more than just his journalistic oath to report the news. It also forces him to take a look at himself and newly discovered feelings – feelings that make Ryan blind to the risk of becoming front page news himself.

Will Ryan find the courage to make a life decision to give himself true happiness with Dagger or take the path that would likely lead to heartbreak and destroy his career forever?

Review

5 stars "Sexy, passionate and emotional."by Tams ~TTC Books and More

Ryan Pierce is a journalist for a popular music magazine in LA. He's interviewed more rock stars than he can remember. Unbeknownst to him, his next interview is going to turn his world upside down and make him question who he is. Dagger Drummond is rock star gold. Everything about him oozes sex appeal, from his striking good looks to his air of confidence. The fact that he truly is a talented singer/songwriter is just a plus. Ryan gets a great interview from the meeting, but when he returns for something he left behind he learns a secret Dagger will do anything to keep that way.

Dagger has kept the truth about his sexuality a secret for fear it would ruin his career. Ryan has lived his life as a straight man, never even considering he might be gay, until he meets Dagger. The attraction is evident from the start, but Ryan denies it to Dagger and even to himself for the longest time. The two form a unique bond of friendship based on late night phone calls, random texts, trust and mutual attraction. Dagger is a good boy though, and keeps his hands to himself until he's sure Ryan is ready to reciprocate. A snake in the grass, a jackass that is jealous not only of their relationship, but of Ryan's success as well threatens to tear this couple apart before they can even commit to each other.

What a fantastic love story between the two most unlikely victims. Dagger has to work for Ryan's affections and trust me they are well earned. This is not an add water equals love story, no, this was a slow ride to make it to the finish line. I'm not usually a fan of angst, but Lister made that aspect of the story work in her favor by turning it into an internal debate Ryan had with himself about who he was. And more importantly who he wanted to be. There was a role reversal along the way that threw me at first, as Ryan become the strength where as it was usually Dagger. But it played out beautifully.

I enjoyed a fellow bloggers review of this book where she stated she is not usually a fan of M/M books, and even though she skipped the sex scenes in this book, she LOVED the love story. I think that's the best description for this book. I don't recommend skipping the sex scenes though, I read those twice actually. These two are just plain sexy as hell once they get going, and they don't know when to stop. They love to kiss and oh my god Lister knows how to write those kisses, I was fanning myself before they ever even made it past that first kiss!
I will recommend a tall glass of water, a fan and some Kleenex before you begin. Fans of sexy, passionate alpha male loves stories with a good dose of angst and some emotionally charged chapters will love this book.

Ann Lister is a native New Englander currently living in Florida with her husband. She has pulled details from her years living in the New England area and uses many local settings and landmarks in her novels.

After graduating art school, marrying, and raising two daughters, she established her own video production company. Her nearly two decades working in video production included work within the music industry and won her a coveted Telly Award. Her 'behind-the-scenes' exposure to the music world and her love of rock music is the inspiration for her erotic rock star romances.

The Rock Gods series gave her Bestselling Author status on Amazon. Beyond The Music, Book 7 in the series, hit #1 in the Gay Erotica genre during the Pre-Order and held that spot for several weeks. This last book in The Rock Gods series launches the spin-off series, Guarding The Gods, which releases in early Summer of 2016.

Fall For Me, Book One in the series was a Finalist in the 2013 Rainbow Award. Each book in this series brings her two favorite elements together: musicians and the love between two men. These stories focus on what it truly means to love; love unconditionally, love without restrictions or labels, love without fear or judgment – to just simply love.

I completely fell in love with this book. It is such a great read. I love a book that while you are reading, you are so taken with the story that you forget you are reading. This is one of those books. Everyone was talking about how good this series is and I could not agree more. The characters are super sexy, the story is gripping, the plot takes a few twists, everything is great about this book. And the sex is volcano hot.
Dagger Drummond is the lead singer of the band Black Ice. He is super successful, and the fans love him. But he has his secrets like anyone. The big one being that he plays for both teams. No one knows about his sexuality, especially that he prefers men.
Ryan Pierce is a reporter for Music Spin Magazine. He does not date, at least not since his relationship with Beth fell apart, and he lives a quiet life. Little does he know that his next interview is going to change his whole world.
Coming off a huge show at the Staples center in L.A., Dagger is not up for an interview. He tells his manager so and heads to his bus. His hook up Chris is waiting and they get to it. When he sees someone in his bus, he goes out not prepared for his reaction to Ryan. Ryan finds himself checking Dagger out, not understanding any of it. When he pops back on the bus to grab a forgotten item, he gets an eye full of Dagger and Chris. Dagger is scared Ryan is going to out him, and he is also very attracted to Ryan. This begins their association and they come to be friends. Neither of them have too many real friends, and they come to trust each other. Ryan is struggling with his attraction to Dagger. He did not realize that he was attracted to men, and Beth clues him in on some things. When a new reporter goes digging in Ryan's things, both of their lives go up in flames. Dagger has been burned before and blames Ryan for the story. Ryan and Dagger had been quickly falling in love before this point, and now they are both suffering. Can they find a way past this? Or has their friendship and romance suffered a blow that neither of them can recover from? Are either of them determined enough to fight for what they had? This story is off the hook hot and the sex is incredible. You can feel the heat coming off the page. This is definitely one series that I am hooked on big time. If you love sexy alpha males and hot rock and roll stories, grab this book and settle in for a sexy ride.

To be honest, this was a test book for me. I had never read this author before and wanted to see if the writing/story-telling was any good and the $0.99 price and 400+ page count seemed like a good deal. I came across this series because the two guys (who are a couple in real life) on the Book 3 "Make You Mine" cover, Trent & Luke, have a YouTube channel to which I subscribe. They showed a picture of the cover in their latest video & of course I went to check it out here on Amazon. That book had a $3.99 price and I couldn't get a good read on the writing quality from the sample. So that's how I ended up buying "Fall For Me."

    1) This book is worth the price in terms of length.
    2) I give it 3.5 stars because:
    - there are quite a few typos/grammar mistakes
    - more erotica with some drama than any real, gritty plot
    - I understand the whole why do we need labels argument, but a man who is struggling so much with being attracted to another man wouldn't just come to terms with the relationship (romantic & sexual) so quickly IMO.
    - if I had a quarter for every time Ryan was told not to over think something...
    - I've read better
    - but I've read worse
    3) The blurb is a tiny bit misleading. The plot never really focused on Ryan questioning whether to out Dagger in his magazine article. The story is mostly about Dagger wanting to actually have a relationship and Ryan struggling with his attraction to Dagger and the label "gay." There is the "every book has it" misunderstanding between the main characters that provides some drama.

This book is good if you like stories about Rockers, anti-label when it comes to sexuality, and simple, relatively drama free stories. When I say drama free, I am comparing the story to an Amy Lane book. If you've read any of her books, you know what I mean.

    My Review:
LOVED this book. OMG, it was so freaking good. I'll admit, I do love books which feature rocker heroes, but this one also checked off several of my other favorites....m/m and a hero that is sexually conflicted. YUMMY!!

This book is about Ryan and Dagger. They meet one night when Ryan is set to interview Dagger after a concert. Dagger thought the meeting was cancelled and so went on to his tour bus to meet his boy toy of the moment. Ryan walked in on them together. Dagger isn't out of the closet, but Ryan has no plan to be the one to out him. The two guys form a friendship. For Dagger, it's based on attraction and the fact that he just sincerely likes Ryan. For Ryan, it's purely about friendship, but as Dagger flirts and pushes more he becomes admittedly intrigued with the idea and the man.

The build-up between these two is super-sexy and I enjoyed every minute of it. I like that they were truly friends first before things went further for them. It helps that they are developing this relationship while Dagger is touring so it's a long-distance thing. It was a great read and one that I couldn't put down. I planned to only read a little bit and then groaned as I looked at the clock in the wee hours of the morning when I hit that 100% mark, but I never once got sleepy. It was one of those books that kept me completely riveted, engrossed, and entertained for every second of it. I truly loved it and can't wait to read book #2 in the series. It's definitely off to a great start for the series. If this book is one to judge by, Ann Lister is a fabulous author and I look forward to reading many more of her books!

This book was recommenden to me, because I like M/M stories. I really trust the person that recommended t, to not give me a story that is too cheesey or over the top and I was not disappointed.
I really loved the couple. They seemed so honest and real. The way they both fell for each other without really wanting to fall for anybody. The struggle they both went through was real and not too much over the top. I absolutely recommend this book as an entry to M/M romance :)

The first book in The Rock Gods Series and what a way to start. Oh My God!! This story captivated me, I took the journey with Dagger and Ryan and fell for them both. Some of the sentiments in this book pulled at my heart strings. 'With everything I am', it has the deepest meaning and I melted, I was a pool of mush for these two beautiful men.

Dagger is a famous lead singer in the Rock Band, Black Ice. He has it all, the looks, the talent, the big house, the women and men falling at his feet. Who wouldn't want that? Sometimes it just takes that one moment in life to change everything, to feel something you thought you would never have or ever have again.
When Dagger met Ryan Pierce, a journalist he knew there was something about him but he just couldn't stay away.

Ryan had an interview lined up with Dagger, only it didn't go quite the way it should have. He's been in some predicaments before, knowing what the famous musicians are like but never the situation he finds himself in when visiting Dagger's tour bus.

For some reason unknown to Ryan, these two men become friends. Dagger see's something in Ryan and wants more, he is relentless in his pursuit. Ryan has a million and one questions floating around in his head. He's straight, right? He has an ex girlfriend who he still loves but he is not in love with. Beth is a wonderful woman, strong and a true friend to Ryan.

Sebastian a co worker of Ryan's is.... struggling for words here. He's sly, malicious, devious, deceitful. Yep, I did not take well to his character, think that was the point the Author was trying to make and succeed very well. They say everything happens for a reason and I do believe that to an extent because sometimes in this life, you have to fight for what you believe in or for love. The good things in life don't come easy, what would be the point.

This is Dagger and Ryan's story and I urge you to start your Rock Gods experience today. You will not be disappointed. The Author of this series will take you on a fantastic journey into the lives of some complicated but fabulous Rockers.
With my hand on my heart, I can say honestly that this book touched my heart and I loved every minute of it. I am off to start Book 2. I've been told it gets even better, which I'm thinking is that even possible?

4.0 out of 5 stars Good start to the series
Reviewed in Australia on April 18, 2020
This book started out a little rough but soon found it's pace. It took me a while to get used to the abrupt switching of POV from one paragraph to the next - even though it was 3rd person it was often hard to determine who "he" was given there were so many switches, and I found myself having to re-read several sections again to figure out who was doing and saying what. Thankfully that settled as the book progressed.

The storyline was well written - I enjoyed how it played out, and how it worked with the character development too. Ryan especially was an amazing character, and I loved watching him finally find his true self. I envisage it will still take him time to be fully comfortable with himself, but the book finished on a positive note.

What surprised me was that we weren't introduced to any of Dagger's band-mates from Black Ice. It was mentioned that there were 3 others but we don't get any names, descriptions or interactions between Dagger and them in the book. It was all between Dagger and his manager Tony, or with Zander who was the lead in a different band (Ivory Tower). Hopefully as the series progresses we get to meet them all, but still get to see Dagger and Ryan.
