Falling Down Under (Seven Sisters Vineyard Book 1) Kindle Edition

4.4 out of 5 stars 21 ratings

Sometimes rock bottom is the best place to start.

London socialite Georgia Bailey just lost everything—the estranged father who abandoned her after her mother died, the rock-star boyfriend whose career she built from nothing, and her multi-million-dollar fortune.

Now penniless, she’s forced to return to her grandparents’ vineyard in rural Australia and the waitressing job she left behind. But fitting back into her former life isn’t going to be easy, and things aren’t quite the way she left them.

Her teenage sweetheart, now barely speaking to her, is the hot, grumpy chef she has to work for. Her childhood pet is a full-grown kangaroo that won’t stop sunbathing in the parking lot. And the vineyard, as it turns out, is in serious financial trouble.

But Georgia already lost one family this year. She’s not about to lose another one—not if she can help it.

Falling Down Under is a coming-home, second-chance romance recommended for fans of Lauren Landish and Sandra Bullock’s Hope Floats.

Falling Down Under was like spending a day with close friends after not seeing them for a while. The book took me through the full range of emotions but left me with a warm satisfied feeling. I felt like the story was delivered at a perfect pace. I enjoyed the characters thoroughly and hope to spend time with them again soon. Yes, please!

First I have to say I am not into romances, but this was a good story and worthy of the four stars I gave it. The main characters are quite believable, fun, and endearing. The plot is easily followed and I enjoyed the story. I can easily recommend this to most romance readers.

I received an e-copy of this story for an honest review.
This story is the ultimate second-chance romance. The two main characters are childhood friends, who became lovers when they got older, but then were separated due to unfortunate circumstances. Then, years later, due to another unfortunate circumstance they’re brought back together. At this point there is some explaining needed to be done, feelings revisited, and decisions having to be made. But, of course, this wouldn’t be much of a story if there wasn’t some angst along the way. *grins*
But, as you’ll see when you read, there’s not just our MCs who have angst going on. The MCs and supporting characters in this story made me groan, laugh, fume, snicker, and shake my head. A very fun read for me.

I thought this was a good story that had some lovely elements. I wasn't overly enthralled with the social media element of the story, but I enjoyed the character development that happens to Georgia. She's not very easy to like at the beginning of the story, but she grows on you as she begins to grow herself!

I was provided a gifted copy of this book for free. I am leaving my review voluntarily.

Thank you NetGalley, Errin Krystal and Trash Dogs Media LLC for the ARC of Falling Down Under. This is my personal review.
Georgia has had a one too many nasty things happen in her life--- her father dies, and the stepmom makes sure she has nothing left to her and her boyfriend dumps her. She knows it is time to make a change in her life and that decision sends her to Australia to her family’s vineyard to work and rethink her life.
The story was a great escape for me. The romance was just the right touch. The pieces of the story all fell together to give me that feeling of joy to see Georgia get her life back together and is happy!

With thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for a digital arc of this book, all opinions expressed here are my own.

Falling Down Under by Errin Krystal is the first book in the Seven Sisters Vineyard series and the first book I have read from this author.

It is a second chance romance with a HEA that will leave you feeling warm and gooey. With a host of interesting characters and a rural Australian setting (complete with a resident kangaroo) this was an easy, entertaining read for lovers of the chic lit genre. It was also very much about saving the family business that seems to have become a second home to those involved.

A heartwarming 4 star read. I look forward to reading more books by this author. Falling Down Under by Errin Krystal is out now.

Falling Down Under is an engaging story filled with the fullness of life. It’s wins and losses. Its steadfast friendships and some seemingly based on ‘What are you doing for me now?’ Straight. Gay. Family love, misunderstandings, and some just plain out-to-get-you. Errin Krystal understands life, human feelings, social media and food. I longed to eat some of those meals she describes. She weaves the complexity of life into her heroine, Georgia Bailey who, Falling Down Under, the task of picking herself up, dusting herself off and starting all over again. And yet again.

This was a quick, fun read. It’s billed as a romantic comedy, but…I’d say it’s more “light reading” than “comedic.” I had mixed feelings about Georgia: while I felt sorry for her struggles, it was a bit hard to feel completely sympathetic, as she’d been pretty crappy to people and totally self-absorbed. I ended up liking her, as she grew into a more normal person—not just a party-girl heiress.

Her stepmom and step-sister were pretty cliched and one-dimensional, and the rest of the secondary characters—who will, I’m sure, feature in later books in this series—were likable enough. If you’re looking for a light read—or a beach read—this would be a good choice.

Really enjoyed this read. Fell in love with most of the characters. Developed hatred for others, but they got what they deserved. Can’t wait to start the next book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun, light, fresh Australian romance

A fresh, light read & cute story. Love the main character, Georgia! She's intelligent & fiesty, with a bubbly personality. An interesting peek into the lifestyle of rural Australia, as an Australian myself I had to laugh at how accurate it was at times! A fun read!

Such a page turner. Couldn't put it down. Read all night as sleep is for the weak when it comes to Errin Krystsl's writing.
