Falling For Raine (Love and Travels Book 1) Kindle Edition

4.4 4.4 out of 5 stars 1,214 ratings

The gentleman, the hot mess, and a little British adventure…

Raine

Moving to London is scary and daunting, but I desperately need this new job–and a redo. Okay, so I may have oversold my qualifications. That shouldn’t be a big deal, though. I mean, being an assistant’s assistant seems easy enough, and I’m a fast learner.

Except…I’m already in over my head with spreadsheets, new pronunciations, and temperamental appliances. And just as I’m mentally preparing to face going home early, the big boss offers me an opportunity I can’t refuse. And I definitely should because Graham Horsham is an infuriating, complicated grumpy bear with a razor-sharp tongue, a wickedly dry sense of humor, and…I like him far too much.

Help!

Graham

I’ve been bamboozled. I’m not quite sure how I ended up with an assistant who spills coffee daily, wears wrinkled shirts, and chatters nonstop. He can’t stay, but I don’t want him to go either. That isn’t like me.

And the timing couldn’t be worse. The Horsham Group is about to close one of our biggest deals ever, and I won’t jeopardize it. This one is personal.

Yet so is Raine.

He’s a breath of fresh air—silly, impetuous, lighthearted, good-natured, and…quite lovely. I like him more than I want to admit.

But not to worry…I will not, under any circumstances, fall for Raine.

Falling for Raine is an MM, age-gap romance featuring a British gentleman, a desperate but adorable American, and a UK adventure!

Review

Lane Hayes has written an absolutely engaging, tug at your heart romance with Falling For Raine. It's all age gap, opposites attract relationship with a grumbling, closed off older(and very wealthy) man whose life is utterly shattered, by choice, by a sunny, brave hearted, extroverted younger man.
And yes, it's a popular trope but Hayes takes it and makes it her own with great characterizations, wonderful locations, and a fast paced plot. But it's really that Hayes gives the reader a sense of the real emotion that's occurring here, a feel for the real intimacy and chemistry happening between the men so we get the tug they're unable to resist.- Amazon Reviewer, 5 Stars

I love Raine and his natural klutziness, honesty and sunshiny adorableness. Graham is the typical grumpy boss but is totally enamored of Raine, even if he won't admit it. Such total opposites, the eternal optimist versus pessimist, the fun loving historian and the buzz killing workaholic yet burning up the sheets with intense sexy times- hot, hot, hot! - 5 Stars

Just a perfect love story, and lots of fun. Graham and Raine are made for each other. Graham has had a hard life which has made him driven, and just a little bitter and twisted. Raine is just cuteness and sweetness personified, and just the person to break through Graham's shell. The back story is interesting, and I loved the cultural differences between the two. The ending is uber swoony!

Everything in this book is wonderful, their journey to find each other is written beautifully.

Used to go on holidays to Cornwall as a child and visited the same places, this book brought back lovely memories.
Expertly written, it's a beautiful story...

I loved this book! The characters are lovable, quirky and driven. A combination that is humorous at times and nerve-wracking at others. Keeping an office romance hidden is more than they can successfully pull-off! If you haven't been to England you're definitely going to want to go after reading this.—Bookbub Reviewer, 5 Stars

Raine is relocating to a new country for a job he feels he's not qualified for, making him anxious about failing and getting fired. However, before the move, he enjoys a night out in Las Vegas with Graham, whom he met at a bar. Little does Raine know that Graham is his new boss.
Despite Graham's reputation for being a tough and uncompromising boss, he reveals his softer side to Raine, and they share a strong chemistry. However, Raine's attempts to bring out Graham's more human side are met with resistance as Graham struggles to accept love due to his self-doubts. This dynamic causes Raine to feel distressed as he desires more from their relationship. Their romance is realistic, sweet, and very well written and I enjoyed it from start to finish.- Bookbub Reviewer, 5 stars

Lane Hayes lives in sunny Southern California with her amazing husband, who thankfully doesn’t mind cooking, and their fabulous fox red Labrador, George, who’s pure mischief. Both provide oodles of inspiration for the low-angst, humorous books Lane loves to write.

She’s been telling stories about sexy, funny, sometimes geeky and quirky men who find love for a dozen years now and loving every minute. In her previous life, she sat at a desk and dealt with numbers, so yes…romance is much more satisfying!

Lane loves tea, travel, and chocolate…in any order. Add a book and she’s set!

Graham and Raine were ridiculously cute together. I loved their initial meeting so much. The fact that Raine ended up running into him again in London was perfect. I loved watching them build their relationship without even trying to do so. It reminds me of my current relationship. We were friends first and fell into a relationship. Raine definitely brought some much needed down time into Graham's life. He taught him to relax and enjoy life outside of the office. Their trip to Cornwall was wonderful. This was a great, happy little read. I loved it.

While I find it hard to believe that someone wouldn’t google the billionaire owner of the company they have moved from LA to London to work for, and therefore don’t realise their Vegas one night stand is their new boss until after they arrive in the UK for work, ‘Falling for Raine’ for rain was undeniably charming.

Graham is supremely busy and has little time for relationships but he’s not the typical austere business so easily found in CEO/employee romances. Raine is a 30-something hot mess. He had a friend totally pad his resume to help him find a job, but he had no idea the job was miles above what he was qualified for and did not handle the high pressure environment well.

The storyline with Julia felt like it was building to something and I was braced for a big reveal and then it all just fizzled out into nothing which left me a little confused. But even with all of that I still found this to have a very fun romcom feel to it for sure with a good use of the following tropes: fish out of water, CEO/employee, age gap, opposites attract. A fun, fast read.

If you are looking for the perfect romance, while sitting poolside, or cozied up next to a fireplace with warm socks on, this is your book.
I adore Raine, and wish I had someone like him in my life. Graham needed someone to lighten his mind, and to brightn his soul. Raine taught him how to have fun, and find joy in the small things.

Read this sexy, fun story, and enjoy the ride. I know I definitely did!

Raine and Graham are an engaging grumpy x sunshine couple. Raine is smart, funny, optimistic, curious, and personable. He’s the kind of person who just naturally draws others to him because he just exudes goodwill. Graham has a fun, sunny side, but he’s hidden it away behind a serious, stoic façade. He’s convinced himself that he doesn’t need love or meaningful connections with people, he just needs financial and business success. And then Raine happens. Graham can’t resist Raine. Raine’s exuberance and enthusiasm for life help Graham let go of difficult past trauma. And Graham helps Raine feel more competent and confident—things his own past left him doubting in himself.

I enjoyed Graham’s accent and all of the Britishisms. And i appreciated that the epilogue was a good amount of time in the future.

There’s an age gap between our MC but just as I said above it’s a low angst office type romance. They meet out of town not knowing their boss / employee relationship yet and have amazing chemistry. They try to not fall further in because of their circumstances and baggage but eventually fall in love and have a sweet HEA.

Raine is a klutz in the best kind of way and Graham is a very uptight English man. Graham is also the owner of the company that Raine is going to work for in England.
Raine had a friend give glowing and over exaggerated reviews on his resume!
Graham says that he will never fall in love and Raine goes along with it unto he can't any more.
Loads of laughs and loads of very tender moments that had me in tears twice! Be aware you are going to lose sleep with this one!!!!
