Michelle Geel is a contemporary, steamy romance author who has strong-willed and unpredictable characters who often drag her to places she hadn't envisioned.

"Love isn't just perfumed petals and sparkly rainbows" - seems to be the general motto her characters have adopted. There may be fall-outs, break-ups, and meltdowns, but there will also always be a whole lot of lovin' goin' on!

Michelle lives in a coastal city in South Africa with her two amazing children, four loud dogs, and one screechy parrot. Her quirky sense of humor is acquired, and the faster-than-a-speeding-bullet sarcasm, apparently inherent.

She adores traveling (especially cruising), and would love to see more of the world. To date, she remains unsuccessful in losing the recipe for a chocolate ganache cake that she's tired as hell of making. ~X~

    I loved this book. I loved the constant ups and downs...for that is real life. I loved the deep, nothing-can-break love. For that is true love. I loved that the author kept me wanting more right up to the very end, leaving me depleted and blissfully satisfied!

You won't want to put this book down!

    There was a lot of back and forth between Brenna and Gabe. Both blew hot and cold with each other and it made the story drag. I DFN at around 70% because of that and for the reasons that I state below.

    SPOILERS BELOW

    I disliked like the heroine. She was not bright. She supposedly thought that Gabe was a prostitute who her friends bought for her to spend time with but did not question why Gabe let her spend the night and spend time with him the next morning. I don't know much about escorts but I assume that they charge hourly. That would be really expense date if her friends paid for her to be with a man over 12 hours. In addition the words she used for her anatomy including during sexual acts made me cringe, like "pubis" and cooc& (rhymes with pooch). So unsexy. Also she referred to her close friends as "b-tches" More importantly was a mean wench, especially to men. The way she turned men down who were interested in being with her was rude. At the same time she complained that men didn't want her they only wanted her friends. In addition, she was smexing Gabe in the evenings and going on dates during the day or evenings when not with Gave. I didn't have a problem with her dating because Gabe knew and didn't want to make a commitment to her. However I had a problem with the fact that she seriously started dating a great guy named Josh and was leading him on. She would make out with Josh during the day and continued to screw Gabe nightly. She knew Josh was getting serious about her but she led him on anyway. She claimed she tried to stop messing with Gabe but just couldn't. Please. Gabe then leaves and then the story picked up 6 months later. If there was a mention of what happened with Josh then I totally missed it. He just ceased to exist. Rather it just said that she had been eating a lot of ice cream for 6 months while hiding in her apartment. When her and Gabe see each other it is not because Gabe made it happen. Rather it was because her friends took her to where they knew Gave was giving a motivational speech. It was disappointing that Gabe, who acted jealous and possessive before and followed her around on her dates, was fine with not being with her for 6 months and made no effort to see her.

    I didn't like Gabe much either. He is an immature, spoiled manhoe brat who pouted and acted up when he did not get his own way. I read the book because I read that Gabe was jealous, possessive and obsessed with the heroine. No other woman would do and that he was faithful. While it is true that he was jealous possessive and obsessive, faithful he was not. I thought that the fact that he tried to mess around with OW after smexing the heroine but just couldn't get hard meant that he would not have smex with OW after being with the heroine. Much to my dismay I found out late in the book that I was wrong. While apparently Brenna sat around eating and hiding Gabe had sexual relationship with his father's PA who he worked with. He only stopped sleeping with the PA a few months prior to seeing Brenna again. Apparently his member worked around OW again. Then when he and Brenna get back together he still he lets the PA get physical with him in front of Brenna on several occasions and does not want to stop working with PA even though he knew it bothered Brenna. This is around 70 and the point I DNF the book I had enough. The story was disappointing and not worth the $5.99 I paid nor the hours I lost reading it.

    One night of hot sizzling passion, and they were doomed!

    Brenna and Gabe’s relationship started with a misunderstanding and turns into multiple hot nights of passion. Oh, Brenna tries to resist but she does not succeed and they agree to an arrangement.

    This full length story starts out with Brenna being not that confident about herself and her beauty. I loved seeing the changes that come to her as well as Gabe. Though he is an absolute master in sex, this was a learning curve for him since relationships have never been something he is good at.

    Brenna wants a relationship, marriage, kids and the whole nine yards while Gabe just wants her in his bed.

    Brenna is a responsible planner, the one friend in the group who would only drink a glass of wine or no alcohol while the other friends do all the drinking so that she could drive them home. Letting go of control and doing spur of the moment actions is not one of her things.

    Gabe, a playboy, is the opposite. They gel well together. The author did a great job with the characters and the story. It kept me coming back every time. I found the story had a constant up and down vibe. I got that because a couple of times it felt like a lull, almost like the climax was going to come, only when I looked at the number of pages I had yet to read did I realize I was nowhere near the end of the book. Maybe it is me. The story was a little stretched out but it was not enough to stop me from reading.

    Finding a Keeper has a great storyline and characters. I love both of these characters, and feel the cover does not do the story justice. Many times book covers are what brings a reader to check them out, even though the story itself should be what grabs them.

    Finding a Keeper has off the chart chemistry with characters that would make you believe in taking a chance in love.

    I'd love to give this book more than 5 stars I enjoyed it so much. And after I was so impressed with it, to discover that it was this author's first book, well, it blew me away!
    It's 317 pages, so it's a goodly sized book, and I couldn't put it down!
    A group of friends are threatening to hire an escort for Brenna's birthday, to get her back in the saddle, so to speak. She meets her "escort" and has her night of passion. But it was a mistaken identity...he was just a stranger in a bar.
    Now for me there was even more of a bonus. Brenna was a strong willed character. Gabriel, the "escort", didn't become a wimp. Together they're explosive and very entertaining.
    I can't wait to see what this talented author comes up with next!

You spend the entire book desperate for Brenna and Gabe to get their HEA, even though everything is telling you it's never going to happen You just want it to so bad, you feel like shouting at them.
