Ann Lister is a native New Englander currently living on the island of Martha's Vineyard with her husband, Robert Lister. She has pulled details from her years living in the New England area and uses many local settings and landmarks in her novels. After graduating art school, marrying, and raising two daughters, she established her own video production company. Her nearly two decades working in video production included work within the music industry and won her a coveted Telly Award. It was this 'behind-the-scenes' exposure to the music world that inspired her first two novels, Sheet Music - A Rock 'n' Roll Love Story and For All The Right Reasons.     So in this book we are introduced to Sydney, the entertainment photographer harboring emotional baggage who is sent to follow a band named Reckless on a 6-month tour so she can compose a backstage access photography book for their fans. This is when she meets Ben, the lead singer who she wants to believe is just like his chauvinistic, pig brother in the band but soon realizes he is not at all what she first assumed. Throughout the book you start feeling bad for Ben because you can tell that he obviously has some genuine feelings for Syd, but the more he pursues the more you find yourself noticing that Syd is not all she appears. Once the two give in to temptation, the reader is submersed into a love affair that every woman wishes she could experience. Steamy sex scenes, dialogueand the never ending devotion just draws tears at certain parts!!!
    Now I don't want to provide any spoilers but I must say that towards the end of the book I was very disappointed in Sydeny. I actually cried for Ben at certain points and found myself mentally cursing her and women in general for sometimes doing what she did!!!! (Mind you I am a woman myself lol) But generalizations aside, Ann Lister wrote a very intriguing romance that also allowed access to the rock n roll atmosphere. And let me say that the interview that Ben gives over the phone is my favorite part!!! Had me hysterical!!!! Everyone should experience this book for themselves, they will not be disappointed!!

    I highly recommend this book to read after "Sheet Music - A Rock n Roll Love Story". Ann Lister has done it again. This book is an emotional roller coaster and let's not forget very sexy! Sydney is an entertainment photographer and Ben is the lead singer of the band Reckless. They meet and Ben is very interested in her, but Sidney has had a very bad experience with a particular rock star and therefore all rock stars are bad news in her book. Ben is very persistent and is not about to give up. He wants to get to know Sydney and find the reason for her attitude. Can he tear down the wall Sydney has in place to protect herself? I love the fact that this book took me in a journey through several years. I also got a glimpse of some of the characters from sheet music and how they are doing. All in all if you love sexy rock stars you'll really enjoy this book.

    To be honest I had trouble connecting with the characters till the very end of the book. Honestly hardly any emotion at all until the end. I like how most romances make you think love can truly conquer all, but seriously keeping someone's child from them for 3 yrs and then Ben basically is ready to start where they left off? They did not even split up for truly a good reason and it makes this story even more tragic, especially in time lost. I personally think the author should have spent more time in her character development in the beginning.

    I have to say this is the first MF book from Ann Lister that I've read and I loved it.

    Sydney is a very famous and sort out photographer who has been hired to tour with the rock group Reckless on their 6 month tour, although the money is great she is not too happy with the idea of being around rock stars almost 24/7. Due to past experiences with rockers Syd comes off as very B***hy which in turn brings us to lead singer Ben Gallo who has hired Syd and let's just say their initial meeting did not go over too well.

    Sydney goes out of her way to ignore Ben and refuses to give him any more time then professionally required which makes Ben want her all that much more.

    Initially I really couldn't bring myself to like Sydney for the way she acted and treated Ben i felt she never gave him a Shot to prove he is not the jerk she thought he was.... but once we find out why she is the way she is I really began to feel for her and when she finally let her guard down and gave in to her feelings towards Ben, let's just say .... wow the sparks between those two and the sheets were enough to burn my kindle.

    Ok here's where the angst comes in, we meet Simon Ben's out of control jerk of a brother who is the drummer of their band and all hell let's loose when he shoots his mouth off and leads to Sydney taking off and leaving Ben. My heart broke for Ben I cried and could not forgive Sydney for what she did and what she hid from him but in the end "true love prevails" and Ann gave us another redeemable beautiful masterpiece.

    The story of Sydney & Ben was quite endearing. Sydney was a women with a traumatic past and Ben was a man ready to break through that wall. I think the author did a great job in telling of the development of their relationship. Although at times I thought Sydney was going a bit too far, with the telling of her past, it helped excuse that fact. The author made Ben the perfect fit for Sydney and made him patient and loving. Only drawback that I just didn't see coming or how it even fit with the way the author made Sydney personality was that 3 year thing.
    All in all it was a nice read and the author did a nice job in telling the story through the end.

    I got hooked on the first two books in Olivia Cunning's Sinners Series and was looking for another Rock Star love story. This great story delivered and then some. I absolutely loved the way the love grew between these two characters. Throw in some deception and action and sweetly sexy love scenes and this book had everything I look for in a romance novel. I am off to the Kindle Store to buy Ms Lister's other titles. Grab a copy of For All The Right Reasons, it will not disappoint!!!

    I had to read For All The Right Reasons again because it had been such a long time. It was February 2013 and after I had read Sheet Music, now that is one brilliant, emotionally charged painful story and a big read at 514 pages.
    I wanted everything to be fresh in my mind before going on to read Beat Of His Own Drums hence me reading this again. I still wasn't prepared for all the memories good and bad that came rushing back.
    Not only does Ben ooze sex appeal but he's smooth too and this is made all the more obvious in comparison to his brother Simon now he is the complete opposite, not only is he spiteful but he is determined to ruin Ben and Sydney's relationship and he succeeds.
    After Ben worked on winning Sydney's trust their relationship is good, fantastic even and after spending a blissful ten days together even more so.
    Nobody could predict what was about to happen... But Simon happened. Sydney might have put him in his place but the damage was done.
    Ben and Sydney's relationship fell apart and Sydney walked away but not before she revealed the pregnancy news which I was grateful for but again you couldn't predict what Sydney would do next.
    From this point this story becomes unbearably painful to read and very emotional, Ben is absolutely devastated and so are we and because we knew what Ben didn't... like I said it's too painful.
    Ben has no idea he has a daughter, I couldn't believe what Sydney did and to think it was Simon that started that ball rolling, it was all so unnecessary.
    You know it's only a matter of time whether voluntary or otherwise that Ben would find out...well it was the latter and of course the fall out from that is huge and in all honesty what did Sydney expect, just when Sydney could do without anymore upset Billy Iris rears his ugly head and that along with his threats causes plenty of concern... you know he hasn't gone away.
    Eventually time heals thankfully, it's touch and go especially as Sydney walks away again but Ben isn't giving up this time so when he turns up at Sydney's door it's a beautiful moment and you breathe a sigh of relief but it's short lived because this story turns painful yet again but for very different reasons... it's a dreadful scene as we witness Billy Iris do his worst, this could go one of two ways and with their daughter Jenna crying from her bedroom to say it is a worrying moment is an understatement.
    Ben and Sydney lost almost four years of their relationship but they found their way back and with everything they had been through it made them stronger and more determined and with another baby on the way and nothing or nobody standing in their way It couldn't have been more perfect ending.!
    I'm now going to read Beat Of His Own Drums... will my views on Simon change? Only time will tell.!

    Sydney a tour photographer been really badly hurt before and doesn't let men near her as she does trust them. Enter Ben Gallo rockstar and lead singer of reknown band Reckless. Syd is hired to follow their tour and dies everything to avoid falling for Ben but he is not your typical rockstar but a good man which makes him hard to resist. A bit of headache and a baddie thrown in make this a must of fans of rockstar novels. It got a little lost about 70% through and I got annoyed with both major characters for not trying harder to do more if they cared that much for each other. Still..came good in the end!

    I loved this book for all the right reasons. Great storyline, well developed characters. I was hooked. This author was definitely born to write Rock Star Romances. Although I know she is well known for The Rock Gods, M/M Romance and that's how I started reading these books but she has a collection of M/F books many with a rock star theme and I just can't get enough of them.

    Sydney Willows was a very talented photographer who travels all over the world. She is in high demand as her images are exquisite. The band 'Reckless' wanted her to tour with them. Although it was good money, Sydney had a love hate relationship with musicians.

    Ben Gallo the lead singer in Reckless takes a shine to Sydney but she is so not about to fall for his charms. She's been there done that, she was hurt pretty badly. I didn't even expect what I read at all but then again it all made perfect sense when I started thinking back. Ben is not about to give up though. He's actually a nice guy unlike his rat of a brother, Simon.

    Ben has a break through with Sydney, they start to chat and become friends, he is fiercely protective of her after hearing what she went through. He understands why she isolates herself while touring but he wants her so badly, he can't help but keep trying for her to trust him. When he invites Sydney to his home, I don't think either of them expect to feel the way the do. It's beautiful and scary all at once.

    Nothing lasts forever, right? Well if a love is real, true love that is, it will last forever whether two people stay together or not. Sydney may believe that Ben has done wrong by her but what she does is far worse. As much as it pains me to say this, she kept the worst secret she could ever have done from him. It sometimes makes for a difficult read because you know things that he doesn't and then you start to think, tell him already for God sake. I almost understood where she was coming from at one point and it became a real struggle for her after the length of time that had gone by.

    I totally recommend this book to all lovers of Romance, specially readers that love a rock star romance theme. It's a story that will take you behind the scenes and not just in the bedroom. Ben is a very handsome man and Sydney is a beautiful woman put them together and you get some very passionate moments that can melt the panties off you.

    Sometimes, you fall into a book. This one came about because someone in a book club posted a description and could not remember the title. So, I checked it out and what a gem. Wonderful story. Read the synopsis, a very good book, and please do not be put off by the beginning with Sydney being a total ice queen, she had her reasons. Fantastic 5*'s
