Forever Valentine Kindle Edition
In the case of Maggie Hartman, her first love isn’t forgiven, either. Seven years have passed since Taylor left their small town and Maggie for the glamour of Hollywood… and to marry up-and-coming rodeo star, Josh Beckett.
It took seven years for Taylor Sweet to cement her stardom. She’s built her brand on being an expert horse behaviorist and the wife of a famous rodeo rider. But months after their divorce is finalized, she finds herself hungering for time out of the spotlight. Returning to her hometown of Valentine, Nebraska, population 2,803, offers the perfect escape from the messiness of Hollywood. What she discovers she can’t escape is the tangled past she shares with the love she left behind.
As far as Maggie is concerned, Taylor is there to stir up trouble. The problem is, she’s stirring up a lot more than that for Maggie, who is beginning to realize she never got over her feelings for her old friend…
Can she learn to forgive, and give free rein to her heart?

About the author

Jea Hawkins writes sweet and spicy contemporary lesbian romance. She writes paranormal romance and urban fantasy as Lucy True. Her historical/contemporary romance, "As Long As Love Lasts," has been nominated for a GCLS Literary Award.
Regardless of genre, if love conquers all, then she’d like to think her heroines can rule the world one day. An east coast transplant to the Midwest, she loves to write about complicated women and settings that feel like home.
Personal addictions include genealogy, autumn, cozy sweaters, hot chocolate, and the Sims 3. She’s both an avid reader and gamer, and hopes readers don’t mind a few geeky references here and there in her work.

- Reviewed in the United States on April 13, 2018Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThis was a sweet story. Taylor and Maggie ‘s relationship at first was strained because seven years earlier Taylor walked out on Maggie never looking back. Maggie was angry and bitter and Taylor had to work hard to get Maggie to forgive her for hurting and betraying her so badly. This was a well written story. Well done!
- Reviewed in the United States on April 8, 2018Format: KindleIf it is the mark of writer’s skill that she can make you care about characters you really don’t like very much then Ms. Hawkins is a very good writer indeed. Taylor starts out as a self-absorbed reality TV star. A woman who turned her back on everything about her home town of Valentine, Nebraska, including especially her best friend Maggie, until she became disillusioned with her life and returned home. Maggie starts out as a woman bitter about being abandoned by her friend as well as having to take over the reins of her family farm after her father suffers disabling injuries during his military service. Yet the two get past their personal demons and both grow up as they grow together. I liked the way the author used Taylor's ability to relate with horses to teach the two women about their relationships with each other and with their families. Ms. Hawkins is one of my favorite writers of lesfic and while I didn’t think this was one of her best stories, it certainly shows her ability to create well-rounded characters that you come to care about.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 7, 2018Format: KindleAnother winner from this author. This is such a sweet story about 2 women who were best friends until one of them wanted "to be something else". Maggie knew who she was & where she wanted to be. Taylor ---- not so much. It took her awhile to realize that what she thought she wanted was really something she always had. This was a story of self discovery and it was told in a most delightful way. Jea writes books that touch your heart and this one did just that. I highly recommend this. Many thanks to the author for another great read.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 10, 2018Format: KindleVery enjoyable. The horses weren't just there for show, either. While the story might have used a little more conflict or drama, the central relationship was sweet and difficult enough for the story to work. There were good side characters and it avoided nasty political things. Overall, it was a pleasing romance.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 15, 2018Format: KindleFrom beginning to end the story took me on a wonderful horse ride. The characters were all lovable. Including Todd that was only mentioned.
Taylor and Maggie childhood sweethearts who separated after H S to meet again after seven years.
Good reading for all who like love stories. Time heals all wounds and will give us answer.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 18, 2018Format: KindleSimply wonderful!!! The uncertainty of self-discovery, the awkwardness of emotional desires, the uncertainty of fearful vulnerability & the daydreams of forever love & the innocence of not knowing just how long forever really is!!
- Reviewed in the United States on April 26, 2018Format: KindleI don't know just throughout the book something felt off.
The characters pushed believablity for me and just wasn't for me.
I did find the background story of Maggie's parents too be quite good.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 20, 2018Format: KindleA truly heartwarming story about what might be the most important thing a person needs to do in life to be happy: be honest with themself. The characters are incredibly well developed and the leading ladies have chemistry to spare. Highly recommended.
