    This is one of those epic timeless stories that you will never forget, or could imagine that humans can be so vile and disgusting, especially to their own family. And yet the human psyc is so resilient that over a period of time and love and care it can rebuild itself and love, and care and give humanity etc. I'm just glad that despite the most horrific things that you can imagine, is done to a human being, and they can recover and rebuild if they are strong enough. Amazing story, and I hope that this is a series that you would read, it's an amazing series.

    Written in dual first person POV. Good amount of M/M sexy scenes. No humor but I wasn’t expecting any. The plot is fine but I wish that we could read about what Ronan’s group actually does (kind of like book 1) instead of everything being reactionary. Also, I’m not sure if it’s the author’s intention, but each book has contained sexual assault in some way and I wish that weren’t the plot device deployed in each one. Each book really does lead into the next one now so each subsequent book is less of a standalone than the previous. I haven’t read any of this author’s other series (I read Made Mine which is a crossover between the Protectors series and Lucy Lennox’s Made Marian series and then I went back and started this series) but it seems that there will be a lot more crossover between this series and the Barretti series.

    Honestly, I wish that the author would just abandon the “standalone” attempt because in order to do this she feels the need the detail what happened with the characters mentioned in previous books. If you’ve read them then this isn’t so bad but if you haven’t and plan to go back to read them then she’s revealed some of the things that were supposed to be big surprises and that’s annoying. There are ways to get around this by giving a general statement about a character without revealing their secrets (for example, she could say that the character was a victim of assault without giving the details of the assault). Then again, if you have read the previous book(s) then you don’t need the detail anyway so it’s unnecessarily traumatizing.

    Eli was rescued from kidnappers in his teens after his sister died and mom was deported. He was saved though and got hos mom back as well. Dom who is more a father figure than his step dad ever could be did that. However he was hurt by his step dad in way only his step brothers knew but didn't realize he didn't want it. One of them is gone now and Caleb is struggling.

    Enter Mav who ends up becoming so much to Eli and Eli becomes a lot of firsts for him too. He's protecting Eli and showing him how to defend his self. He doesn't care about the past and when all of it comes to light he's right there defending Eli.

    Eli was terrified to let all the truth out because he his self only had part of an edited version of events. He did not take no for an answer when comes to Mav though. He followed him to deal with his own personal matter refusing to leave him when knew he was needed. I was glad when Mav realized he could be loved.

    The sex was hot for sure especially at end on motorcycle. Past characters are back and new ones to come. Plus got to meet Eli's family that are awesome even if not by blood. I really want to read next ones with hopefully Caleb's story in future too.

Whew these two are absolutely hot together and sexy together.

    I am so happy the Barretti and Protectors worlds have collided. It was great to read about the Barretti clan again. I cannot wait for the next book in the series, Vengeance.

    I can read these books over and again and most likely will. They have drawn me into their world and I am more then happy to be here.

    Mav is a bad ass, a long-haired gorgeous and very dangerous man who prefers to work alone as he feels that way he won't get hurt. His motto: Leave them before they leave you. Then he meets Eli and his intentions go right out the window.

    He takes it upon himself to protect Eli from those that mean him harm. With the help of his friends he makes that his mission. Though he tells himself he won't fall in love along the way.

    This series is one of the best i have read. From the time i downloaded to my kindle app i could not put it down until the end. I had to give the highest rating and even then it didnt go high enough. The worse part about Forsaken was it came to an end then silly me read the start of the next one in the series and it cant come quick enough. Its just a pity we cant go into the future for the next one. If you are thinking of reading this book dont just think do as absolutely an excellent read. Sloane kennedy should be at the top of the kindle best seller list as she is an excellent story teller. So hopefully the next book in the protectors series wont be to far into the future a i can guarantee it will be a good read.

    Mav lives his life not giving a damn. He does everything he can to never form any kind of attachment. He's always the first to leave never leaving roots behind. No Family, no friends and no place to call home. It's safer that way.

    He's protecting Matty at the hospital, keeping guard when he comes across a young man who visits Matty named Eli. Mav has an instant attraction to him but the young man tries to avoid him at all costs. After witnessing an attack on him Mav is drawn to him and knows something is wrong by the way he acts. His instincts are right.

    Eli has moved back to Seattle to be closer to his adopted family. Dom is the father Eli always wanted. He knows Dom loves him but he feels like he's not part of that family although he deperately wants to be. Eli is keeping a huge secret from everyone that he must keep to himself. Mav knows something is going on and is determiend to find out what. Eli knows Mav would never want him once he finds out but he can't help longing for him anyway.

    Mav will do anything to protect Eli but in doing so opens himself up to heartbreak from the person he's protecting.

    Awwwwww i love them both!!! seriously!! This is why i'm loving this series. Both characters i instantly fall in love with. Every book i'm looking at the side characters thinking " ooooh i'm gonna love that one" "His story is gonna be a good one" Every darn time!!

    I'm gonna throw out first that Mav's tattoo made me wanna lick my kindle soooooo bad it would have broken with all the slobber on it! lol YUMMMM!!! But then his past... awwwww broke my heart! His family really did deserve the rough life they were living. My only wish was that they weren't living. I'm not as nice as Mav! lol

    Then Eli.... sweet, brave, strong Eli. Ohhhmygosh he's so sweet and he really surprised me with his determination with Mav. When he followed him my heart swelled with pride!! Go Eli!!! Mav was well worth the hurt.

    I absolutely loved Eli and Mav's story. The protectors series has hot hot sizzling moments and I think us readers can only lap it up. There's good character building, the past unraveling, the oomf chemistry and the ultimate coming together. It's unputdownable.
