About the Author

Don Massenzio was born in Syracuse, New York, to first generation Italian American parents. He is an avid reader. Some of his favorite authors include Harlan Coben, David Morrell, Stephen King, and Hugh Howey. His favorite book of all time is 'To Kill a Mockingbird'. Don began writing as a way to combat the long hours of travel and numerous hotel stays that are part of the 'glamorous' world of corporate travel. He uses writing as a therapeutic outlet. He recently took the jump to sharing his work with others. His first published long work is the novel, Frankly Speaking. It is the first in what will hopefully be a series of books focused on the character, Frank Rozzani, a Florida private detective. The book is a throwback to the days of pulp detective novels with a tip of the hat to Jim Rockford from 70's television and The Rockford Files.

Like his character, Frank Rozzani, Don was born in Syracuse, New York to first generation Italian American parents. He’s an avid reader. Some of my favorite authors are Harlan Coben, David Morrell, Stephen King, Jonathan Kellerman, John Grisham, and Hugh Howey. His favorite book of all time is To Kill a Mockingbird.

He started writing as a way to combat the long hours of travel and numerous hotel stays that are part of the ‘glamorous’ world of corporate life. He use writing as a therapeutic outlet to combat his homesickness.

His first published book, Frankly Speaking, rose to the top of the Amazon charts. It was the first in a series of books focused on the character, Frank Rozzani, a Florida private detective. The series is a throwback to the days of pulp detective novels with a tip of the hat to Jim Rockford from the 70’s television show, The Rockford Files. He's also released a collection of short stories called Random Tales that is available for your Kindle or in paperback.

Also, look for his non-fiction book, The Ultimate Guide For Independently Published Authors: Tips for improving quality and selling your work, now available on Amazon.com as an eBook or in paperback

He moved to Jacksonville, Florida 22 years ago where he currently lives with his wife, daughter, and three dogs.

Frank Rozzani and Johnsey are progressing with their jobs. After the last big case, which had taken its toll on them, they decide it might be time to go official with their work. Instead of getting their job done in the back of a surf shop and in a trailer, they're moving to an office!
Knowing their personalities a bit the reader shouldn't be surprised there are drumsets and a piano in their offices, but it's Frank and Johnsey!

Their friend Anita provides them with a case that isn't 'official.' She and her cop friend just smell something foul. Telling Frank and Johnsey that Bambi, a Florida woman, had her former fiance arrested for domestic violence isn't surprising. There are hundreds of cases like that out there. What is different about this one? The man is the victim!
For quite a while it doesn't look good for their client, and the more Frank and Johnsey dive into the case, the worse it gets.
But knowing these two, once again, they won't give up on their client.

Frankly, my Dear is another excellently written Frank Rozzani story. Once again I am going to mention the development Franks and Johnsey's life were going through. Even Fat Sam, Holly, and more family members are getting more and more involved in the storyline, and we watch Frank Rozzani blooming. He had a rough past, but Nancy helps him through a lot, and I love as much as him to see, how happy he had become.

The story, as weird and confusing as it seems fist, takes turns in switching between odd and complicated. But Don Massenzio, once again 'Master of the Game,' carefully, but steadily takes his readers where he wants to have them: between unbearable suspense and a slow understanding of Frank's work and the outcome of the book.

Thank you, Don Massenzio, for another 'nail-biter.' I can't wait to get to the fifth book. And I admit, I hope there will be the sixth one soon!

This series just keeps getting better and better. Frank and Jonesy think they have a case that is pretty clear cut. But all of us know it may not be what it seems. Characters and dialogue flow well. Very good storyline with suspence that makes it hard to put down. I've read every book from this series and this is the best to me. I was given a copy in exchange for an honest review.

I read the advanced-copy of this and will be adding the paid version to my bookshelf along with the rest of the series. My review follows:
Frankly My Dear is the fourth entry in Don Massenzio’s Detective series featuring Private Investigator, Frank Rozzani, and his partner Clifford “Jonesy” Jones. This is my first foray into the adventures of Frank and Jonesy and overall I must say I enjoyed it. The main characters are solid and believable and reading how they work together and live their lives was interesting and fun for me.
As I said, though this is the fourth book in the series, it was my first therefore some things which did bother me could perhaps just be my lack of knowledge in the series or the author’s writing style. For instance, we begin with a short prologue from a key character’s POV which is not seen again. It seems to exist only to show their plight though we do meet them throughout the story. Again this could be a style the author uses I’m unfamiliar with however it doesn’t affect the story either way it just felt out of place to me.
Another is the first two chapters felt a bit slowed by the wealth of back story and other details. The back story info was there for readers like me which is fine, but I did find myself wanting to hurry through some of it along with the very detailed routes taken and food enjoyed. It is not wrong by any means; I just felt the pacing was slowed by it.
From about chapter three on though I was hooked and the pacing was perfect, and kept me hanging onto the events taking place and rising dangers. The great twists and turns throughout were very satisfying however the ending was a bit lacking for me. No spoilers here. The final resolution doesn’t ruin the book for me but I was hoping for more. That said I look forward to picking up the previous three installments! I’d rate Frankly My Dear a solid 3.5 stars out of 5 but as I can’t I always default to the next one up. Still a fun read!

I really like how the author, Don Massenzio, has continued to update and intertwine the characters of his series of Frank Rozzani novels. I can't wait until the next book.

I have a particular fondness for private detective novels, particularly those set in the USA and this one proved to be no exception. The detectives involved here are clearly a close knit family. All seemed to be involved in this story to some extent, including the detective's dog, but the chief protagonists are the private detective, Frank Rozzani and his lawyer partner, Jonesy.

The plot is a twist on the normal narrative for this type of story, in that the detectives are asked to represent a man who has been accused of abusing his girlfriend. All the characters are believable, especially the villains. Rossani and Jonesey are accomplished jazz musicians and a little of the action revolves around their music and the club where they play. I am not familiar with the music titles or the work of the artists referred to in the novel but the author is clearly a Jazz aficionado.

The pace is fast moving with a number of twists and turns which is a prerequisite of the genre. I found it to be a thoroughly enjoyable read.
