Frat Wars : King of Thieves Kindle Edition

4.4 out of 5 stars 4,486 ratings

We’re basically Romeo and Juliet. But dudes. And without all the dying.

Chad

Being VP of Sigma Beta Psi is wild. I get all the benefits of being in charge with hardly any of the responsibility.

Parties, pranks, and frat politics—college life has never been sweeter.

Until I meet Bailey Prince.

He has the face of a goddamn angel. I don’t know where he came from or why I’m so obsessed.

But I do know he’s a Kappa.

And our houses have a rivalry that’s written into legend.

Bailey

At Rho Kappa Tau, I’m a legacy.

It’s a lot of pressure, but I’ve always been responsible, never had that rebellious need to rock the boat, and I like it that way.

But after a party at Sigma—the jock frat—I meet Chad Doomsen, and for the first time in my life I want to step outside my square.

Our houses have always had a rivalry, but some of the guys seem to hate Chad specifically, and I don’t know why.

He’s surprisingly sweet and kind. At least to me.

I need to stay away. A relationship with Chad would be betraying the very legacy that brought me here.

But I can’t help myself. And it seems, neither can he.

Frat Wars is a romance between MCs from rival houses. It has friendly competitions, no hazing, and a swoony romance kept secret.

Hilarious & Steamy!

Hilarious & Steamy!
C'mon frat boys with hearts of gold, I need a Chad in my life! I was in a fraternity when I was an undergrad & have lowkey been giving the side eye to these frat boy romances, but Saxon James, you've totally changed my tune - this was so much fun, truthfully some of the most fun I've ever had reading a romance. Bailey & Chad had amazing chemistry & their banter was hilarious - the snark was on point here, they had me laughing out loud numerous times (especially Chad, what a gem). The King of Thieves game was really fun to follow & a great way to carry the romance along throughout. This was a super low-angst, pure entertainment & shenanigans kind of book, there wasn't really too big of a conflict & there didn't need to be. It was just really adorable, super steamy, & in my opinion a perfect example of something that can be both equal parts smutty & sweet/swoon-worthy. What can I say, I fell head over heels for the boys of Sigma Beta Psi & Rho Kappa Tau! I'm really looking forward to the next two books in the series, this was truly pure escapism at its finest! Highly recommend picking this up if you're looking for a cute, fun & steamy romance.

    Review:

I am a big time vibe reader and the vibes in this books are ✨immaculate✨. Chad - frat boy extraordinaire, jock with a heart of gold and the life of any party. Bailey - new guy on campus, snarky rich boy - but not in a pompous, annoying way - and adorably sexy nerd. These two are an all-time comfort read for me. Whether it’s coming back to reread the whole book or my favorite scenes, these boys have me by the throat.

This story will have you smiling, kicking your feet, cracking up laughing from start to finish. Bailey is the new boy on campus, quickly learning how seriously his frat, Rho Kappa Tau takes their rivalry with another frat, Sigma Beta Psi. He’s not super into it even though his entire frat is and guess who they hate more than like anyone else in Sigma Beta Psi? You guessed it, prank king himself, Chad. They meet not knowing who the other is until they’re in a ✨spicy✨ situation. This leads down the fun path of “oh no we can’t” and “this is a bad idea” to “I can’t stop thinking about you” and “one time won’t hurt”.

Spoiler alert: one time changes everything. Neither can get enough. They compliment each other so well and the frat politics and plot around their love story is so good. Their story is sweet and funny and sexy. They deserve every bit of happiness they’ve got coming at them.

While I am a vibe reader, this book was written so well. The characters are fleshed out and make you care about their story. The side characters add depth and none feel like they’re thrown in there just because. I personally loved the pacing even if I was screaming “come on, kiss!!” more than probably necessary. There were four or five spicy scenes and a couple fade to black/insinuating what’s happening spots. The sexy times were spaced wonderfully and added to the story as a whole. It didn’t feel like they were thrown in there for the sake of sexy time.

Highly highly recommend this book and series. Will always recommend this book and series. Saxon James has me in such a tight hold with her writing there will never be a time I’m not reading everything she drops.

Really enjoyed Chad and Bailey and all the frat shenanigans. Chad is ridiculous with his pranks but really has such a big heart and is so sweet with Bailey. Liked how Bailey (plus his family) was so down to earth despite his family's ultra upper class life. They were so explosive together and their banter and connection was sooo good. Def left me with a smile on my face. Iggy Toma and Alexander Cendese narration was great as always.

Can Saxon James do no wrong?! Well, I certainly hope not because I fell head over hockey sticks with her CU Hockey series co-written with another favorite go-to author of mine, Eden Finley, and I could never get enough of James' own Never Just Friends series. Reading her books has become one of my guilty pleasures, but can I really call it that when I feel no guilt whatsoever while indulging in every single pleasurable read? Her newest series, Frat Wars, is looking like it could give the two other aforementioned James-penned series a run for their money because I'm a smitten kitten and a happy puppy all rolled into one with the series starter! In short, I'm giddy and ecstatic with joy.

Frat Wars: King of Thieves is the first in the Frat Wars series, and it introduces readers to two fraternities--Rho Kappa Tau and Sigma Beta Psi--and the never-ending rivalry between them. The Kappas are more team leaders while the Sigmas are more team captains. Think of them as the former lean more towards becoming future leaders of industry and possible pillars of commuintiy, and the latter trained to be in the running as most valuable players and hall of famers. Not necessarily a matter of brain versus brawn, since that's rather stereotypical, and from what I've seen of the cast of characters so far, Saxon James has created young men who stand out because they are NOT stereotypical.

Chad Doomsen and Bailey Prince are college seniors and from rival fraternities. Chad is the vice president of the Sigma Beta Psi and on a partial football scholarship; Bailey is a transfer student and a legacy, thanks to his father. Thanks to being adventurous in college, Chad identifies as bisexual, although it's not something he's gone out of his way to tell other people about. On the other hand, Bailey is, in fact, openly gay, but being the new guy on campus and in his frat house, he hasn't exactly shouted his sexuality from the rooftops. With the annual King of Thieves competition in play, Chad is determined to keep Sigma's winning streak intact. Then along comes Bailey, who may not just steal the competition but Chad's heart as well. If only they didn't have that darn, pesky frat rivalry.

I absolutely adored every single thing about this series starter. I liked that readers are able to see what the dynamic is like for both frat houses, and I loved that Saxon James gave the characters--principal and peripheral alike--enough original quirks and tweaks to make them extraordinary. Chad wasn't a total cinnamon roll, but the guy was super sweet and he was devoted to Bailey, who was a sweetheart as well. The story has a bit of a slow-burn feel to it, which I appreciated because I've lost count of how many books I've read where everything started with a one-night stand. I enjoyed anything and everything this book had to offer, and James continues to impress me with her storytelling and creation of compelling stories and endearing characters. Five stars for Frat Wars: King of Thieves.

Enemies to Lovers dual point of view
First in a series, can be read standalone

Chad has a plan for his senior year of college and it’s all about maximizing the FUN. He wants to make it an epic year for the rivalry between his frat of struggling jocks vs the uptight frat of family money. Bailey just wants to be near his family, finish college, and maybe make a few friends at the local chapter of his fraternity. With a goal of not making waves, how did he end up attracted to the biggest wave maker at his rival frat and involved in some of the biggest pranks?

It was fun. Bailey was super sweet and Chad was endearing. Looking forward to other characters in the series and maybe getting to see more of Bailey’s family?
