Her Submission (Dirty Rich Book 11) Kindle Edition

4.5 out of 5 stars 684 ratings

The second and final book in the Dirtier Duet by Lisa Renee Jones.

Abbie swore that she was done with rich, powerful men. They've hurt her. They've hurt her mother, who she will do anything to protect. She's done playing the submissive. She's ready to fight back.

The problem is that Gabe Maxwell is one of those rich, powerful men and he refuses to be ignored. He's in her path and she can't seem to steer clear of him. He wants her. She wants him. But it's not that simple.

There is more to her story, more than Gabe knows, but then, there is more to Gabe's story than Abbie knows, too.

THEIR SUBMISSION TAKES TRUST
5 out of 5 stars
THEIR SUBMISSION TAKES TRUST
HER SUBMISSION is the second book in the Dirtier Duet. This series must be read in the order of release. It is also the twelfth release in the Dirty Money series. The duet can be read in any order of the series, though I always recommend reading a series in the order of release. If you’ve read HIS DEMAND, then you need to read HER SUBMISSION. You know you need to know the rest of the story. In my opinion, this could just as easily be called His Submission or Their Submission. It just wouldn’t have the same pairing power on the bookshelf. As in the best of all romances, they get past the pure lust to love and they learn to lean on each other, and to trust one another. That is what this part of their story is all about – submitting to the love they have found in one another. HER SUBMISSION picks up where HIS DEMAND left off. Though dead, Abbie’s ex-husband is causing trouble beyond the grave! In the end, there are other enemies at play and the chessboard will need to be cleared. With the help of the ever-present and loyal Walker Brothers, they are dealt with in perfect Maxwell/Walker fashion. This is a can’t lose team! The real star of this story though was Dexter, the not-so-serial-killer dog. For anyone who has been owned by a four-footed baby of any sort, you know how much they you would do for them. They reduce us all to blithering, blubbering idiots in the best of ways. They soften the toughest men and make the worst days bearable. When a man like Gabe falls for a woman and a dog, his world changes. I’m just glad I got to watch it happen. No matter what comes next, I know that I will always pick up a Lisa Renee Jones book. Note: While I received this book as a gifted ARC, my opinions are my own and are given freely. Title: HER SUBMISSION Series: Dirtier Duet #2, Dirty Money #12 Category /Genre: Contemporary Romance Recommended for: 18+ due to sexual content Grammar/editing: book received as an unedited ARC / errors excused Received from: Lisa Renee Jones

Every time I open a new book by Lisa Renee Jones, I know three things will happen:
    1. I will devour it in one sitting because nothing is worth the wait to see how it ends.
    2. It will consume me from start to finish and leave me wanting more.
    3. I will fall head over heels in love with the hero and declare him the “best one ever” – until the next book comes along.
It’s just happened again with Her Submission, book two of the Dirtier Duet and the suspenseful conclusion to Gabe and Abbie’s story. It sizzles with sexual chemistry and emotional suspense. It’s hot, it’s heavy, it’s compelling and ultimately explosive. I loved every minute of it.

To be honest, I loved Gabe Maxwell even before His Demand brought him into the limelight. Enigmatic, intricately layered, deeply damaged, intensely passionate and protective, Gabe is charming and sexy one minute, intense and demanding the next. Brilliant, confident and intelligent, he uses his sense of humor – and lots and lots of casual sex – to shield himself from the pain of a past filled with lies, betrayal, and losses. That is until he meets Abbie – the one woman who convinces him that the risk of losing is worth whatever it takes to win against bitter enemies – past and present – fiercely determined to take them down.

As always, Lisa keeps the reader on edge from beginning to end, weaving a web of doubts and suspense that make you question everything you think you know about Abbie and Gabe, and make you wonder what each may be capable of to save the other. Fortunately, they are surrounded and supported by an incredible cast of strong, familiar supporting characters – including Cat and Reese, Reid and Carrie, Grayson and Mia, and the fabulous Walker Security team. I don’t think I can ever get enough of these fantastic characters, and I hope I don’t have to try. I don’t know where Lisa will take them – and us – next, but I will definitely be along for the ride.

Be advised this is not a standalone. And although the Dirtier Duet may be read separately from the Dirty Rich series, go ahead and read them all, because after you finish His Demand and Her Submission, you’re guaranteed, like me, to want more. Much, much more. Until next time…

    3.5 to 4 stars

The 2nd act to Gabe and Abbie's story is here! As the story kicks off, it picks up right where His Demand left off so everyone is in crisis mode to deal with the news delivered at the end of the first book. It's all hands on deck as Reese, Cole, Reid and Blake try to figure out the best way to proceed to protect Gabe and Abbie. Of course that means more self-sacrificing comments and actions from Abbie while Gabe tries to cover all her escape routes to convince her that Kenneth will not get the upper hand in her life yet again.

For the first half of the book, I really had to dig deep to find a reason to keep reading because it felt like we were just treading water covering the same ground over and over again. Abbie thinks Gabe is better off without her, she is bringing too much danger to his life and his family's lives, and so on. Gabe is keeping secrets and won't trust her but he wants her unquestioning trust in him. Then finally they both decide they are really going to go all in and the switch flipped for the second half of the book- cue the epiphany moment!! And imagine that, Gabe's secret really wasn't all that bad in my opinion. Maybe I was just beyond ready to finally hear the truth, like Abbie, but it really felt kind of anticlimactic by the time he decided to share.

Without the constant Abbie freak outs, the second half of the book was much more palatable. And we get more goofy Dexter moments so that is a bonus in my opinion! For those who have read some of the author's other books in the Dirty Rich world, you will definitely enjoy seeing more of Cat, Reese, Reid and Carrie. And of course, none of the characters would be able to navigate the mess they find themselves in without Blake and his Walker Security team! The epilogue tied it all together nicely as well to bring the Dirtier Duet to a close.

This is the second book in the Dirtier Duet and you need to read book #1 first.

This book picks up where His Demand left off. Abbie's ex-husband, Kenneth is dead and it looks like she is going to accused of the crime. Gabe is determined to help Abbie fight but she is tired of rich, powerful men trying to run her life. Abbie has to learn that Gabe is not the others and it takes a huge leap of faith for her to accept that. At the same time Gabe has to try to not control everything about Abbie. As they work to figure out what happened to Kenneth, it will take a lot of faith and trust to get to their happy ending.

I read this book in 24 hours. I needed to know how everything ended. Between Gabe's father, Abbie's mother, Jean Claude, Reid and Walker Security there is so much mind blowing things happening that it was a miracle that Gabe and Abbie did finally get their happy ending.

This is the conclusion of Gabe and Abbie's story!
Thing get down right dirty for Gabe and Abbie in this remarkable story, there is a death, a couple of dirty players which includes Gabe and Reid's father and the fear of going jail for a murder Abbie didn't commit or did she? Will Gabe and Abbie get their happily ever after or will their past ruin their furture together? To find out the answers to all the questions you have had at the end of His Demand, you must read Her Submission to get those answer, it will be worth it!!

5.0 out of 5 stars A good ending to the duet
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on October 2, 2019
This second book is a good ending to the Dirtier Duet and I liked seeing Abbie & Gabe sort things out and move on with their lives after all that happened in the first instalment of the duet.

As we found out in His Demand both had secrets, but I occasionally wondered if they were as ground shaking as both feared them to be..... it turned out that Gabe’s was kinda shocking but that Abbie reacted as she did to what he had to share (when he eventually did) was great.
Even though she feared her own past would hurt that man she was coming to love, she too shared her secrets - the only thing that got to me about her was her continued thoughts that she should leave Gabe as she feared her past would bring him down - at times, it was as if she didn’t realize they were stronger together.

The intensity and tension behind the crime that both were in the frame for made for really good reading and I loved that the characters from previous books came together to help the couple and worked to discover who the culprit was and help Abbie & Gabe clear their names.

As you would expect from Ms Jones, there was tension, angst, suspense, umpteen twists & turns, heat and passion (the chemistry between the pair was HOT!!).

Another hit from one of my favourite authors. I’m giving Her Submission 4.75*

Her Submission the second and final part of Gabe and Abbie's story was hot, intense, multi layered and intriguing and it easily pulled me in. And I loved the electrifying connection that continued to deepen between Gabe and Abbie, and I was so happy to see them get the happy after they fought so hard for.

    Would happily recommend.
