    Giorgio was restless after his mission for Vigilance. He always got this way after a tough mission. He needed an outlet, so he went to Ignite, a club he enjoyed. He was sitting alone watching people dancing. Then a pretty boy came in alone and sat down not too far from him. The young man looked at him and smiled. Giorgio couldn’t help the smile on his lips when he looked in his face. Then he turned his head. The man was too young and sweet.

    Then he heard the boy say no. A man had hold of his arm and was trying to pull him away. Not on his watch. He grabbed the guy and told him no meant no. He pushed him away from the young man. The man was angry, but he left. The young man was rattled, but he thanked Giorgio for his help. He looked at Giorgio and assessed him. Lane knew he wanted him. After a bit of bantering, Lane invited Giorgio to go home with him. Giorgio was big and scary, but Lane could tell that he was a good man.

    I had fun reading this book but if you’re looking for something really well written with complex characters and well thought out dialogue, this is not the book for you.

    There’s a lot I didn’t like about this book and if it was a standalone it would have only gotten two stars. But the side characters and series potential is what saved this.

    Our two MMCs come across as stereotypical. They didn’t feel well thought out and the moments of vulnerability were perhaps the only moments when I felt some connection to them. The spice was alright but not very believable sometimes. The drama felt a bit ridiculous sometimes, especially when it came to our “villain.” There were so many moments in the story where something was written as if we should know this information already, or wasn’t written detailed enough to really understand what is going on. Like, are we supposed to know what “X’s” other identity is beyond his work at Vigilance? Because it’s definitely written that way but all I had were more questions.

    But like I said, the series potential is what saves it. I enjoyed the other characters who will have their own stories told and I’m desperately hoping the quality of character and well written dialogue improves.

    This is your basic bodyguard light D/s with a little bit of punishment added in. The characters were not that original, and the plot was a bit anticlimactic, but the sex scenes were steaming hot, if you like D/s. It wasn’t that heavy, so it’s also good if you just enjoy controlling top & bratty bottom. It showed a relationship that was never nonconsensual or even dub con and that turned into love. The chemistry between the characters was real, another reason I gave the book four stars. I’m looking forward to reading the next one.

    I was first introduced to Sylvia's books with her Fitting In Series but as I explored all the wonderful m/m author's out there I lost touch with her writing. Reading Giorgio has led me back to Sylvia's books again and I'm rediscovering my favorite author's again. Lane and Giorgio were like TNT, ready to ignite with just a spark. The sex was explosive between them from the beginning. Giorgio the big bad bodyguard was no match for bratty, snarky Lance's charm. Every time Giorgio tried to get Lane to obey him it just turned Lane on even more. I loved it. The saying, the bigger they are, the harder they fall, was so true for Giorgio. This book could easily have been made into a prime time movie of the week. Full of action, suspense, heat, kink, romance, kidnapping, hurt/comfort, and a HEA and an epilogue to wrap it all up. This is a spinoff series but can be read without having read the previous one but some of the characters from the other series cross over into this one which just makes me want to read it also. Looking forward to Niall's book next.
