Letting Go...
Imogen Hargrove's past experiences with a cheating ex have greatly influenced her outlook on men in general. She thinks she needs a steady, conservative, corporate type who can provide for her and remain faithful. Her numerous attempts at dating are a bust, so she puts all her energy into work. As one of the main assistants to Mr. Allbrook, Imogen is considered part of the family. When sparks fly between she and Caleb, she's caught off guard because she "thinks" she's more suited to his brother.
Caleb Allbrook is seen as a womanizer. At work, nobody takes him seriously as he often acts up, is a serial dater, and wears funny socks. To complicate things further, he feels as though his father doesn't value his opinion as he was always the "unwanted" son. Oftentimes he comes up with valuable ideas, but they aren't seen as credible until his more serious brother backs the ideas. His brother often receives praise for the ideas Caleb has presented. The only person who "sees" what's going on is Imogen--who is also the only person who wants nothing to do with him. Until they strike a deal.....
Caleb will help Imogen get proof of her soon to be brother-in-law's affair, if she goes on a date with him. What starts off as an attraction, turns into scorching kisses, and a tenable friendship. Can Caleb get Imogen to realize that not all men are cheaters? Can he convince her to let go of the past and give them a chance at something real? I loved their first kiss at the masquerade ball. So cute-especially when she realizes who it was due to his socks! The quirky banter, scorching kisses, and overcoming past misconceptions all made this an enjoyable story.
