Headline Love: A funny romantic comedy that will have you laughing out loud (Abigail Love Book 2) Kindle Edition

4.1 out of 5 stars 148 ratings

WARNING: This book contains strong language, unnecessary violence and irreverent British humour, and should therefore not be read by anyone.

Can a girl marry a guy if his name sounds like a mechanically operated sex toy?
After a successful working partnership and a blossoming carnal relationship, Abigail Love and her boyfriend, Will, have moved up to London together to join their YouTube news channel, Prime Time Today. But all is quiet, and with nothing much to report on, Abigail’s job is soon under threat, along with her relationship. Fortunately for her, McDongle makes a timely appearance.

This laugh out loud romantic comedy is perfect for fans of Nick Spalding, Matt Dunn and Tracy Boom.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
David Blake is the author of the brand new series of laugh out loud Abigail Love books. This second one is a funny British romantic office comedy that is basically a love story, sort of. It’s also been described as chic lit, but it’s probably not. However, people are saying that it is one of the best rom com books that they’ve ever read, although probably not as good as those written by Nick Spalding or anyone else for that matter. He’s also written a series of almost funny books about Inspector Capstan that form the back story to this new series.

Another funny read by David Blake the humor is brilliant great follow on from the capstan series it's a must read

David Blake is, hands down, one of the funniest authors I know. From the hysterically funny quips, to the ever-increasingly outrageous escapades to the down-right, laugh-out-loud absurdity of it all, I can't imagine enjoying a book more, or having more fun reading, than sitting down with any one of his books. In this second in the series about Abigail Love and her cohorts, we pick up right where we left off. Things start off with a bang and just go from one comical scene to the next, until you're having so much fun you just don't want it to end. This series is actually a spin-off from his earlier one featuring Inspector Capstan. If you haven't read those, you'll want to immediately, after giving this one a try. These books are like potato chips, you can't read just one.

3.0 out of 5 stars CURSING OUT LOUD
Reviewed in Canada on December 4, 2021
Deplorable misuse of commas, ignorance of dependent clauses, abuse of colons and semi-colons - all these irritants do not leave me "laughing out loud" as the promo promises but rather cursing out loud. The whole novel is a not-so-sweet bridge mixture of punctuation faux-pas. Get thee to a competent proofreader, Mr. Blake!

These books are not as funny as they claim - real school boy humour not my taste although I imagine many will find them entertaining as my partner did.

4.0 out of 5 stars More fun with Abi and Will.
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on October 8, 2019
Another rip roaring tale from David Blake, more dead bodies than in a whole series of Midsommer Murders! Having moved to the Big Smoke, Abi and Will once again uncover a dastardly villain trying his best to reduce the population. Great fun.
    I recommend this book.
