Hollywood Cowboys Kindle Edition

4.3 out of 5 stars 11 ratings

In the late 80s, Heavy Metal ruled the airwaves and crowned MTV King of the Video. From L.A. to London, this musical melee couldn’t be stopped. Rising to the top of the scene, the Hollywood Cowboys lived like gods of thunder and Rock ‘N Roll.

Behind the music, they saved their fans, and the world, from the forces of darkness lurking beneath the neon glitter of everyday reality. Addiction, sleaze, fast cars, and demonology…
Welcome to the jungle, and hang onto the saddle. The Hollywood Cowboys are about to take you for a ride.

“SEX, DRUGS, ROCK ‘N ROLL, and DEMONOLOGY! Like a roller coaster ride through the underbelly of the 80s!”
-Wild Child Magazine

Explicitly an eighties action horror thriller. Author comes out swinging and drops you into the eighties rock and roll scene with flair and familiar names, winds up the pitch with getting you into the character roles and knocks the ball out of the park with the undead. Whats not to like?

Some body set the Way-Back machine to the 1980's. Where the Rock Gods and Metal Masters ruled the airwaves. This book takes you to the Pacific North West where you can feel the damp weather. Mike also brings you supernatural creatures the way they are suppose to be.....Fearsome and scary! These vampires don't "shimmer"!! When you meet a werewolf, you're going to get eaten, not taken out for an espresso. Thank you Mike for putting the Horror back into play.

This book is packed with action. If the movies "Lost Boys" and "8mm" had a red-headed, love child it would be this book. Chinakos knows how to craft heroes you're never quite sure will live through a scene. This book needs a sound track and should be read while drinking beer. With that warning/endorsement aside, if the MPAA rated this book they'd give it ding it for Adult Content, Language, Sex, and Graphic Violence, and if you are even mildly religious this book will offend you.

This book was a pleasant surprise. Chinakos weaves real life events, characters and scenes in with what the normal world would consider fiction. Or is it? Following the Hollywood Cowboys cast and crew around my home town made me stop and wonder. Are they really just making this up? Could there possibly be any facts behind this supernatural craze?

I just loved the way the story unfolds. It sucks you into the plot thinking this is just going to be a normal fiction novel about normal people then the author tosses in a vampire or two. How about a zombie party? Did you catch that nuances? Pay attention when you read this book, which I highly recommend, because not everything is said up front. There are plenty of subtle hints in Chinakos' words that may warrant a second reading. Or a third.

Picked up the book at a convention based on the title and back page synopsis. Usually it bites me and the book is bad. This was a welcome exception. Caught me from the get go and did not let up. As a fan of 80's music and horror. It was perfect for me to read. I am looking forward to more.

This book grabbed me, shook me, and slammed me to the ground. I loved every minute of it. If you want gritty, nasty, real, and a glimpse into the world of metal and madness I highly recommend you read Hollywood Cowboys! Of course if you prefer flowers and candlelight and romantic walks on a moonlit beach...run like hell!
