Horribly Harry (Bad Boyfriends, Inc Book 2) Kindle Edition
To supplement his income while he’s completing his Early Education degree, Harry Townsend hires himself out as a terrible date—for a set fee, he’ll horrify parents and family members in all sorts of interesting ways. But when it comes to actual relationships—and sex—Harry doesn’t get the appeal. He doesn’t get the same tingly feelings everyone else seems to when they meet someone attractive. And he’s fine with that.
Jack Windsor abandoned his university degree to do an apprenticeship as a mechanic. He’s happy with his choices, but leaving uni meant losing his accommodation, and now he’s crashing on his sister Mia’s couch. It isn’t ideal, but it’s only until he finds something else—which is proving difficult in Sydney’s brutal rental market.
When Jack recognises Harry from his sister’s terrible date, he almost kills him with a strawberry smoothie. In the aftermath he discovers that not only was Harry’s bad date with Mia a setup, but that Harry is looking for a roommate.
Moving in with Harry is great, if only he wasn’t so distractingly cute—and totally uninterested in Jack. Except as they grow closer, for the first time ever Harry starts to develop feelings—tingly ones. But how can Harry and Jack be together when Jack’s family thinks that Harry is the worst human being in the universe?

Lisa lives in tropical North Queensland, Australia. She doesn't know why, because she hates the heat, but she suspects she's too lazy to move. She spends half her time slaving away as a government minion, and the other half plotting her escape.
She attended university at sixteen, not because she was a child prodigy or anything, but because of a mix-up between international school systems early in life. She studied History and English, neither of them very thoroughly.
She shares her house with too many cats, a dog, a green tree frog that swims in the toilet, and as many possums as can break in every night. This is not how she imagined life as a grown-up.
Lisa has been published since 2012, and was a LAMBDA finalist for her quirky, awkward coming-of-age romance Adulting 101, and a Rainbow Awards finalist for 2019’s Anhaga.
Sarah started life in New Zealand. She came to Australia for a working holiday, loved it, and never left. She lives in Western Australia with her partner, two cats, two dogs and a life-size replica TARDIS.
She spends half her time at a day job and the rest of her time reading and writing about clueless men falling in love, with a dash of humour and spice thrown in along the way.
Her proudest achievements include having adult kids who will still be seen with her in public, the ability to make a decent sourdough loaf, and knowing all the words to Bohemian Rhapsody.
She has co-authored both the Bad Boyfriends, Inc and the Adventures in Aguillon series with Lisa Henry. Socially Orcward, the third book in the Aguillon series, was runner up in the Best Asexual Book category in 2021's Rainbow Awards.

- Reviewed in the United States on August 12, 2024Well, these two are the cutest couple ever to couple. What starts off with the worst possible meet cute in history turns to be a sweet romance. Harry does bad boyfriend dates to pay for his schooling and room and board but never actually understood dating itself. Jack's sister was one of Harry's bad dates, and when he sees him again, it doesn't go so well.
First impressions aside, Jack moves in with Harry & Tris and ends up being a perfect match for Harry. Yeah, these two make some mistakes, but in the end, they make it all work out. It's a beautiful representation of a demi relationship and understanding what it is to be demi. Absolutely adored these two and am looking forward to reading the chaos that is Tris story.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 6, 2025Harry takes over for Ambrose with the bad boyfriend inc job. This puts him on a date with Mia that goes exactly as planned but puts him Jacks crosshairs and he gets a strawberry shake in the face which instantly tries to kill Harry. Jack feels terrible and when Mia tells him the truth, Jack can’t do enough to make it up to Harry. The two become roommates, friends and according to Tris, puppies. As they grow closer, Harry discovers his long dormant sex drive and can’t believe what he’s been missing. Really good story with two sweet guys.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 12, 2025I enjoyed Awfully Ambrose quite a bit, but Horribly Harry just cracked my heart open with its sweetness. Harry is so wholesome, and Jack is so lovely with him. Demisexuality rep with some spice. A lovely comfort read. And very funny too. The thing I loved most was that it was just two guys being lovely to each other pretty much the entire book—a refreshing change from all the romance novels where characters start as enemies, or desperately don’t want to fall for each other, or treat each other badly, or can’t communicate to save their lives. The love here is so real and sweet. It’s a kind book.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 11, 2025Loved this so much!!! Both do the MCs were wonderful, but I especially loved Harry. The ace rep was phenomenal, deeply relatable at many points. Plus I loved Jack’s reactions to Harry’s ace-spec-ness. It was never a point of drama, he never once had a negative thought about it, never begrudged what Harry did and didn’t want to do. He just felt really grateful and special that Harry had feelings for jack that he never had for anyone else.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 21, 2024I love the premise of this book. A guy pretends to be a bad boyfriend to help a girl out, but then falls for her brother, only now the parents are going to be unhappy because they think he’s a terrible person. And the meet cute is horrifically wonderful—I’m pretty sure Jack is scarred for life.
I enjoyed the slow burn with Harry slowly recognizing his feelings and coming to terms with his sexuality. And Jack is wonderfully patient and understanding.
The side characters are fun—especially Beryl from the secondhand store and Harry’s roommate Tris. So funny. I love how Tris calls Jack and Harry puppies. The feud between Harry and Beryl is silly but fun.
Overall, this is an enjoyable read.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 12, 2024Ambrose was the Bad Boyfriend in book one, and his best friend Harry takes over here.
Harry is a future preschool teacher, and it's so easy to love him. HIs new roommate Jack falls pretty fast, despite being the brother of one of Harry's clients. There are some definite missteps here, mostly due to Jack not reacting well under pressure, but these two are adorable together.
Third roommate Tristan is a hot mess, and he will be the focus of the next book in the series. I can't wait to see the shenanigans he pulls off. This series is a lot of fun, and I definitely recommend it to lovers of romantic comedy.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 12, 2024This is a great addition to this series.
Love Harry and Jack.
Great story and setting.
Love the charecters.
This is a sweet story.
Can't wait to read the next book in this series.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 13, 2024While Horribly Harry is book 2 in the series, I think you could get away with reading this as a standalone.
This was such a sweet love story. I absolutely loved both Harry and Jack and they were absolutely adorable, both as individuals and together as a couple.
Jack is just the person Harry needs in his life and this is another thoroughly enjoyable read .

5.0 out of 5 stars Strawberry soaked sorries
Another great story from the Bad Boyfriend, but this time without any fake boyfriends but instead big misunderstandings.
Harry has been doing the Bad Boyfriend job since Ambrose quite to make enough rent money to keep the house going, though they still need a third roommate. When one of his favourite Bad Boyfriend clients, Mia, is acting a bit odd around him Harry tries to leave the situation but doesn't get the chance before the guy she's with douses Harry in a strawberry smoothie. Jack was simply trying to right what he thought was a wrong to his sister and father, when confusingly Mia gets very upset about it and Harry turns out to be anaphylactically allergic to strawberries. A long explanation and a hospital trip later and Jack finds himself looking after Harry and then becoming his roommate.
Harry and Jack have this absolutely insane start but the two do quickly become friends as Jack does his very best to make up for his mistake. Learning about the Bad Boyfriend thing really makes sense to Jack, especially knowing his own parents prejudices, and he helps out Harry from the sideline. Harry enjoys Jack's help and unique point of view and the two become close very quickly. The thing is that Jack is also attracted to Harry, but Harry has never been attracted to anyone before. Finding himself having feelings is a bit of a new and confusing journey for him, but the two are such a great pair and watching how it builds was lots of fun.
Now to throw a wrench in this whole thing is the fact that of course Jack's family is one of those very families that Harry has Bad Boyfriended, so if they are going to have a future that means righting that wrong. Doing that is complicated, what with Mia still being with the guy who needed the whole ruse in the first place, and Jack's own relationship with his parents being a bit rocky at the current time. Being willing to be together will mean making a stand in a big way, one that can also lead to some more crazy misunderstandings if done wrong. It was another crazy and fun journey as these two guys figured out each other and their possible futures while still being the best Bad Boyfriend to help others hopefully find their own HEA. Lots of fun to read!

5.0 out of 5 stars amazing story even better than the first one!
I loved the first book but this is even better and my now favourite Lisa Henry & Sarah Honey book so far. The characters were so cute and the low angst but fun, even laugh out loud at points, story was addictive. I haven’t read many books with demi characters and am not demi myself so cannot discuss the authenticity of the representation but I’m my opinion it was well written and gave a good understanding in a fun way. All romances have artistic licence but that’s what I want from a low angst read. Awfully Ambrose was full of second hand embarrassment but in the book o just wanted to hug them both and help them through their journey! I would highly recommend. I can’t wait for the next one!
I received a free arc if this book for my honest opinion, which I have given freely. I have loved the book so much I have also bought a paid for copy.
