Hot Nurse Kindle Edition
Lee has been single for over a decade. His DJ career has suffered a setback in the cosiness of Oxford. It is too early for a midlife crisis, yet his life is already stuck in a rut of mundane things. Not even his music can take away the blues plaguing his thoughts anymore…
Salvo has just moved to Oxford from Italy and started a nursing job at the John Radcliffe Hospital. He is lucky to find a friend in his vivacious colleague Kimberly, but he also hopes to attract the attention of cute English lads. With his dashing looks and enviable physique he turns a few heads before he catches Lee’s eye.
The attraction is instant. The air crackles with sexual tension, and what Lee finds particularly hard to resist is Salvo’s warm and caring nature. He writes a song for Salvo, and that seals the deal.
As springtime blossoms into summer and their relationship evolves, Lee and Salvo learn a lesson or two about not taking gifts of life for granted.

- Reviewed in the United States on September 21, 2018Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThere's something about reading a story with a real British feel - and this one was one of the best I've read.
Nurse meeting DJ, Lee and Salvo are something else, the connection they share over meeting at a fast food truck causing the sparks to fly. What I loved about the characters is they're real and genuine.
Wonderful story.

' Hot nurse ' is a book about regular people, with average and normal features, not your usual Adonis from romance novels ;-), with their hopes and fears. It is also a book that seeks to answer the question of ' What is it after love at first sight? '. Salvo is a stranger, works at night in a hospital, while discovering the new country in which he lives and making friends, and must learn to navigate between these different emotions to make himself a place. At the same time, Lee has to deal with the frustrations of a trade he loves but that has not always brought him the professional satisfactions sought.
We follow with a smile the moments of hesitation of the beginning of their relationship, the moments full of tenderness, like the one where Lee works on a song that he wrote especially for his lover, and plays it for the first time in nightclub, and we are moved by the Salvo's moments of doubt about the fact that physical attraction is not enough to build a relationship, and his fears that Lee will end up bored with him.
All in all, it is a charming book that makes us appreciate the banality of everyday life and feelings. No surreal drama and no last-minute theatrical blow. This book is a short novel (28,000 words), which can justify that the different subjects were not always ben thoroughly developped by the author, hence a sense of lack of depth that can emerge at certain times of reading. However the author's potential and talent are felt and it is an introduction to his work, which makes you want to discover more.

I thoroughly enjoyed this charming story by Brad Tanner. Hot Nurse was hot indeed. It shows that is hard for gay men to find their happily ever after. So when Lee and Salvo meet, they are over the moon with their instant attraction. But then also reality sinks in, and the doubts keep creeping in.
Lee and Salvo are both realistic characters. I loved that they are normal guys. Lee is a DJ, but not the famous and very rich one, but the struggling, has-to-earn-a-living one. Salvo is a nurse from Italy, who besides his stumbling with his English is also struggling with his weight. But it has to be said Lee has no trouble with it. He sees the blinding smiles and the kind-hearted guy Salvo is. They are not deeply developed, but enough to have me rooting for them.
The story is written in a fast pace, but at times, I found it a bit choppy. There were parts that were a bit overdetailed in comparison to the rest. Then other elements were a bit rushed, especially the end when Lee meets Salvo’s family. It is quite a big issue in the big and understandably so. Therefore, I found it a bit disappointing how quickly it was resolved.
I really liked Salvo’s best friend, Kim. She was a nice addition to the story.
All in all, I found this a sweet and charming story.

- Reviewed in the United States on August 22, 2018Format: KindleHot nurse by Brad Tanner is a realistic portrayal of a relationship in its infancy and its subsequent development. It is impossible for us as straight women to even begin to know how difficult it is to enter a gay relationship and how to navigate the way through it is refreshing to read a book that addresses this exact thing.
From the moment you meet both Lee & Salvo you are immediately drawn to both characters. Both from completely different backgrounds and their jobs worlds apart you wonder what they have in common...if anything...but this addresses the fact that it’s not only about initial attraction but the willingness to to listen and learn about that other person... to love without condition.
The book is a transition from Brad’s other work...it is a progressive but gentle romance... now don’t get me wrong, it is very sexy in places ( yay) but the sexual encounters are well placed and not gratuitous, therefore adding to the story rather than subtracting from it. It’s also lower on the angst scale so a lovely easy read.
The main characters Lee & Salvo were real and totally adorable... I loved both and equally championed them to get their HEA.
The side characters were lovable- Salvo’s nurse friend Kim was fantastic and again added that extra dimension to the story as well as the visit to Salvo’s parents.
The relationship however was not all straightforward, there were misunderstandings and insecurities- these were very well written and realistic because with all new relationships we find that we question ourselves constantly...should I phone ... should I text first...does he like me...yeah I felt like I was in that moment with them.
The story flows seamlessly from chapter to chapter so you were kept in the moment with no disruption, I love the way this author describes places, people and situations clearly, because it’s this as a reader that really keeps us invested in the story.
So Brad this is another truly wonderful read, a very different pace to other books... an honest portrayal of relationships and love, the ability of this author to transport us away for just a little while is astounding and it’s this that keeps me coming back for more, because damn reading his works makes me so happy and, that is the single most important gift one can receive.
