Oblivious: A Contemporary M/M Best Friends to Lovers Gay Romance Novel Kindle Edition

4.2 4.2 out of 5 stars 797 ratings

My hot best friend has no idea what he’s doing to me.

He sends me naughty texts at the most inappropriate times. He lets me fall asleep on top of him when we watch movies. And his protective side comes out if I dance too close to anyone at our favorite club.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but those are things a
boyfriend does. Except August isn’t my boyfriend, he’s my bestfriend, and those lines are drawn in permanent marker. The one time we tried to cross the boundary between friends and lovers, it failed so spectacularly that we never did it again. So … “friends” is good enough. That’s what I tell myself. Because at least I have him in my life. Without him, I’d be lost.

But after we’re dared to kiss, and that kiss reshapes reality, we agree to be friends who do things with each other. Nakey things.

That makes my life so much better. And so much worse. After all, August doesn’t want to settle down, and he never wants to get married. While I do.

Most importantly, no matter how our relationship changes, he can’t find out I’m desperately in love with him.

Oblivious
is a sweet and steamy contemporary m/m romance about best friends who don’t know they’re already dating. Noah and August are always touching, finish each other’s sentences, and bristle whenever the other gets within six feet of a date, but they can’t see what’s crystal clear to everyone else. Oblivious features badly timed schmexy texts, a hot kiss that rocks two men’s universes, and (unofficially, but likely) the highest number of heartfelt marriage proposals in a romance novel ever.

A good read from start to finished. Noah and August’s story was five stars!! Oh that kiss!!! On to the next one.

Oh My God! If you've read the other two books before this, you've been waiting for this moment to happen!! August and Noah finally get together!!
These two have been best friends since they were nine years old. They've had each other backs and even started a law firm together. They do everything together, even if it's out of Noah's comfort zone. They also text like they are dating. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, wants them together.
When they are dared to kiss, it changes their dynamic and opens their eyes to what they could be. It opens a whole can of what ifs.
This book was so great! August and Noah are so lovable that you will just swoon over them!! I loved the banter, the heartfelt talks with family and Shelby.

This one really has me on the fence. I enjoyed the characters, found them really likable, but I just didn’t connect with them. A lot of what went on in this book felt surface level; very quick and rushed—almost insta-lovey once the one MC realizes his best friend has feelings for him.

August and Noah have been the best of friends since Noah moved in across the street from August’s family at a young age. They were inseparable, so much so that they run a law firm together. August was hilarious, and so oblivious, as the title states! The obliviousness aspect was written well, but there were times when it made August just come off as dense. Noah is the more serious of the two, more reserved, doesn’t live life on the edge like August. That being said I became enamored with the way August pulls Noah outside of his comfort zone—we all need a friend like that!

Their entire story ultimately comes from an ill-timed lie/miscommunication back in high school. They attempted to fool around back then but it just didn’t work out how they wanted. The friend group in this story is fun and their meddling was adorable! This book was just missing something for me; I can’t nail it down what it was, but I just struggled with connecting to these two, and that made it difficult to enjoy their banter and blatant obliviousness at times!

Such an amazing story, I couldn’t put it down. The way the author writers make you feel like you’re pulled into the story and experiencing all the emotions the characters feel. I’m just blown away

I love this series! This author writes my favorite kind of romance. Aspirational love with characters that with complicated emotional pasts. Highly recommend EVERY one of these!

Rarely have I read a character quite as oblivious as August, but he certainly lives up to the book title! Noah has managed to hide it from him for years, just not anyone else! But these two have actually been acting like boyfriends for years, even if they haven’t been, so August really has to pull out all the stops to make Noah believe he is finally for real. This was so sweet and schmoopy in places but had its share of spice too. It’s a really good book and now I am going to have to go read the other books in this series because I haven’t read them yet. It didn’t take away from my enjoyment of this one.

August and Noah were a "friendly" mess. lol

They blurred all kinds of lines before they ever admitted their feelings, and because of this, it was hard to transition from friends to lovers. I loved that Noah made August work for it toward the end and that August took it to heart that Noah needed more from him.

I LOVE the inclusivity of the law firm that they created, and the found family aspect is amazing.

I will say that after reading three of the books in this series, the storylines kind of felt similar in that all the characters had trouble communicating fully their feelings, needs, and desires. They fell into the trap of assuming instead of directly addressing things, and though I enjoy a good miscommunication plot, my interest is waning. So, I'm going to move on to something different, then come back for the next books. I am super intrigued with Shelby's story next, so I'll definitely be back after a break!

It was beautiful to see these guys who'd been together together forever figure out how friends and lovers are exclusive. Can't wait to read the rest of the series.

Very heartwarming and sweet story with some hot sex scenes that had enough emotion to feel relevant to the storyline.
    I enjoyed it.
On the fluffy side, no angst and great for a comfort read.
