Yet his gorgeous landlord did a one-eighty turn and decided he hates Simon, his family thinks he’s a total failure, and some of his fans act like they own him.

Branden Dahlman has enough on his plate. He doesn’t need that pest, Simon, who became the bane of Branden’s existence on top of a large estate he never wanted and a family that drives him insane. As he unleashes his resentment on Simon, the sexy bastard insists on proving Branden wrong about everything.

In an unlikely turn of events, when Simon hits his lowest, Branden is there to support him. But will this new-found thing between them last when the pressures of Simon’s world come crashing in?

This was a fun, light, and sexy story. I loved the writing that pulled me into the story right from the start. It is smooth and flowing and had a nice pace to it. It was very interesting to read about Simon’s life as a YouTube gamer. It was all nerdy and geeky, and it showed perfectly how much effect the internet has on our lives. Both the good and the bad things. You can obviously make a living out of it. The downside is that news is traveling fast and can be interpreted the wrong way.
The story is told from Simon’s point of view. Therefore, I learned a lot about him, and I felt I knew him and I liked him a lot. I also liked his inner monologues and opinions. That can’t be said about Branden for that exact same reason. As it is Simon who is telling the story, I couldn’t get quite a good grip on Branden. He is a grumpy man and not on good terms with Simon. Later on, it becomes apparent why, and you can’t fault him for that. He is a concerned and caring brother. The good thing is that he can apologize. The first person narrating is, I think, also the reason I couldn’t really feel their connection either. They are not together very often, so their growing together felt a bit rushed or forced. I don’t know how to explain exactly. I missed a natural growth towards each other. The times they were together were great, though, with funny banter and sexy scenes.
Simon’s best friend Salma is a nice side character as well as Branden’s brother, Jayden. He is like a young, eager puppy.
All in all, I enjoyed this story very much. I would have liked more romance, but I can recommend this book to everyone

Fun, light and sweet are the words that best describe Gaming and IRL Boss Fights.

It is a contemporary romance with uncomplicated plot and little angst. The pacing is very good, and there are no places in the book where it gets boring. Both main characters are nice, especially Simon – we see the story from his POV. He’s delightfully nerdy and I have to confess that the gaming and anime references added to the fun I had.

The biggest issue I had was connected with the first cold spell between Simon and Branden, the failure of Simon to face him and ask him about the reason for his behavior, which seemed logical to me given the situation. The other was that towards the end everything was too easy, starting to live together and all but oh, well, it’s a romance and it’s probably just me.

On the other hand, I loved the way the situation with the parents was handled. Had it been resolved in another way, it would have irritated me but thankfully it wasn’t, so… yay!

Overall, this is a short read you can grab when you need to spend few hours with something light, which you can read quickly, keeping the smile on your face all the time. Because even when the guys hit on a glitch in their love life, it is not overtly dramatized and like in the most books of Alina Popescu there is something youthful and charming in the writing style itself.

I have read this author's work before and something about her storytelling always leaves me wanting. In this story the focus seemed to be more about Simon's relationship with his parents. We really didn't get much romantic development between the mc's. Though the focus was on that parental relationship we didn't even get a full story there either. No answer to his mom's over the top hostility and no closure really between them. It has some sexy moments and a sweet HEA so worth a read. I just need a little more development and a lot more romance in my stories.

I received this ARC from the author in exchange for a fair and honest review.

This is a fun, light and sexy read. I really enjoyed the whole youtube game blogger part of the story. I liked Simon a lot from page one and throughout the book. I was not liking Branden at all, right up until I found out what caused his 180 and made him so angry at Simon. I still think Branden is somewhat immature for his age and responsiblities, however his reactions do make sense because his having to grow up so fast, since his parents clearly are less mature than he is. Overall there was really only one complaint I had about the book and it is more or less a matter of preference. Since the entire book is written from Simon's POV; yet the book is about Branden and his romance, I felt like I never really got to know Branden at all. I think a lot of my problems with Branden were caused by that, which left me feeling he was kinda shallow. Even with feeling that I seriously enjoyed reading this book and plan to read the rest of the series!

We live in a time when the internet evolved our lives, but not everyone understands or even tries to understand that some people will have jobs that were unheard of some years ago. Simon, being a gaming internet celebrity, has to deal with the misconception that his job is not a real one, along with the fact that not everything you see online is the full truth.
I would have liked to read Branden's pov too, just to understand him better, because he is also an interesting MC, even though not famous on the internet.
I especially liked what Selma (Simon's best friend) said at one point in the story: "You can't expect to have this perfect relationship fall into your lap without putting any effort into it."
Every relationship is different and seeing Simon and Branden's evolve brought a smile to my face and, I have to admit this, a few tears also.
    I loved it!
