Incubus Touch (Polar Nights Book 1) Kindle Edition

3.7 out of 5 stars 9 ratings

Sex under the northern lights has never been so arousing.

Valyn enjoys the snow-covered city of Tromsø, Norway, because of the long nights, and the northern lights that bring more than just color to the skies above. As a siren, the energy that floods the city beneath the strong pulses of the aurora are both needed for magic and sought after for intense pleasure.

During the winter, the urge to be claimed drives many of the mythical populace. It is Valyn’s third winter without a partner, and the overwhelming need for sex is almost too much to bear. Until his search in an underground club leads him to an incubus named Jakai. Finally, after so long, Valyn has found the man to share his life with. Jakai is mysterious, but kind, and the sex is far more erotic than Valyn ever imagined it could be.

But in the deep dark, there are things that crawl through the snow. The fae are far less civilized and out for blood. When Valyn spots a terrifying figure in Jakai’s yard, the peace in Tromsø begins to break apart — and the fae’s presence is just the beginning.

Incubus Touch is a 21,000-word novella.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, which centers around Jakai (incubus) and Valyn (a siren) in the country of Norway. They meet in a club one night and afterwards it's fireworks and lots of heat for them. I really liked, Nolan, Valyn's best friend (a dryad) , because he was so adorable. I can't wait to read his story in the next book. This was excellently written, with great characterization, and some blood thirsty fae (unseelie) popping up to cause conflict when they didn't originate in that country, so nobody knows why they are there. The pace was smooth and consistent, with a story that was tantalizing, and definitely unique. :)

This story was competently written, and I liked the set-up very much. I think the idea of mythical people (e.g.sirens and werewolves etc) gathering in Norway to gain energy from the Northern Lights is a great idea. However, the story didn't ultimately give much satisfaction. There was sex, which was fine, but not much else. It feels as though the book finishes about a quarter of the way into the story. I wanted to like it, but ultimately felt short-changed because the plot had no resolution and the characters had no time to develop.

Well, damn. I LOVED this book. I wish it was a bit longer and the characters more developed, but I cannot wait for the rest of the series.

Oh oh. I’m going deep, deep into unfamiliar territory. Please, read this review while you think of David Attenborough’s voice.

I would like to tell you about this new world I have discovered. It has been here for centuries, but I have never really paid any attention to it. But Oh, boy. Have I been missing out!

I’m going in with baby steps, and I’ll advise you to stay close to me because it’s going to get dangerous.

Keep in mind. If it quacks like a duck and it walks like a duck that doesn’t automatically make it a duck! Nothing really is as it appears to be.

Siryn Sueng lured me into her universe right from the very first page, and it was impossible for me to put Incubus Touch down before I had turned the very last page.

Her world is set in Tromsø, which is in the northern part of Norway. The place where cold combined with darkness rule the Winters. Incubus Touch is about creatures of the night, and they love to live in Tromsø!

We meet Valyn at the beginning of the story. He is a siren, who can take control over other beings by singing. He is also lonely and desperate to be claimed by another creature. If someone claims him, he doesn’t have to spend the winter all alone.

At a secret supernatural club in Tromsø Jakai bumps into him, and they are both swept away by passion and lust. Jakai is an incubus. An incubus is a male demon that seduces other people and has a LOT of sex!

Jakai is a flirtatious, seductive hunk of a sex demon! He makes Valyn almost go into a sex-induced coma, and that leads to some very scorching hot scenes. Jakai claimes Valyn in the most powerful and erotic way, swoon!
However, something evil skulks in the dark and is threatening their happiness.

Without revealing the plot, it’s safe to say that the book is action filled and very entertaining. It mesmerized, intrigued and enchanted me.

I could feel Siryn Sueng’s passion for the story and characters. The chemistry between Jakai and Valyn was off the charts, and because of the claiming it was very insta, but in an arranged marriage type of way. It felt like love at first sight, but they both knew that they were just getting to know each other and they didn’t know what to expect from the other. It was so sweet the way they slowly discovered who their partner really was.

It had some fascinating supporting characters, and I can’t wait to read more from the gang.

It does end in a cliffy, so I really hope that Siryn hurries up and gives me some more because I’m so bewitched by this new world.

Thanks to the author and Deep Desires Press for this enthralling advanced copy.

A Scattered Thoughts and Rogue Words Review An Alisa Review:

Rating: 4 stars out of 5

This was an interesting world to read about. I’m not sure my thoughts on how they basically mate with the first person who chooses them and hope it all works out. Valyn has been looking for a mate for years and goes back out in hopes to find one when Jakai is attracted and catches him in the club. Considering Valyn has never done anything sexual with another the incubus completely blows his mind in their first night together.

Despite Valyn’s innocence he has spent a lot of time thinking of the sex he would have once he had a mate and it doesn’t stop once he is claimed. Jakai seems to want nothing more than Valyn’s happiness, it would have been interesting to see how they actually join their lives together but the events in this story happen over such a short time period that isn’t possible. The fact that none of them really knew about the fae seemed strange since there were so many paranormals interacting. Despite anything I’ve said I did really enjoy this book and look forward to reading Nolan’s story and I’ll know what to expect a bit more.

The cover art is great and works perfectly for this story.
