I was born in London, lived most of my life in the south of England. I only say that to excuse writing with a Sarff Lundin accint.

After a lifetime of not knowing what to do, RAF Officer, TV delivery driver, medical rep, trainer, computer guy … I'd even spent three summers running a naturist resort in Portugal. I decided to try something new and retired.

Lying by the pool in the South of France, a story started to take shape in my mind. Then the days got shorter, and the evenings longer, and I started to type. The string of random words turned into “The Uncovered Policeman.” Writing this story, I met the central characters, Bea being the most important. She nagged me into telling what turned into a series of 12 light, cosy romances with a cast of pleasant happy people, with quirky characters.

The New House trilogy, about a couple's first year of retirement in France, followed. “Almost a Year in Occitanie” - No, it is not autobiographical. OK, not very autobiographical.

More recently, Crooke and Loch launch their careers, solving mysteries and crimes in “The Summer of '71” and in a series of follow-up stories spanning the 1970s.

2020 marked the debut of another character … Melody. A lady of a certain age, a generous size and blinding intelligence, who first appears in "Problems and Passions."

The darkness of the great lockdown inspired some darker tales, for example "After The Event." As well as a few more escapist ones, such as "When The Music Stops" featuring the delightful Juliet Evans the singing solicitor

Rags to Riches starts and continues for many years as one large and somewhat disjointed but connected (yeah, weird huh?) family. Then the series jolts the follower by death of one of the key figures. She lives on fortunately in remembrances brought out in this and the previous book. Live, Love, and Laugh might be the start of a whole new line. Not yet at least but we can hope. HEY TED, don’t leave us hanging on this family!

This is the story of an older man trying to recover from the loss of a life-partner, a beloved wife. And in order to find new love, he has to shape his lifestyle to dovetail with the life of the vibrant younger female with a career in archaeology whom he has identified as a second love that he believes his lost beloved would wholeheartedly approve of.
This book is whimsical in a very down-to-earth sort of way. The characters are realistic, and because many of them are also naturists in their philosophies and life choices, it also introduces you in a very fair and balanced way to what life is like for naturists. The essential plot of the book lays out what you might call a "domestic adventure", if not a "romance". And the crux of the plot happens in the exotic locale of the very real New Albion island nation. You do not have to be a naturist or nudist to read and enjoy this book, but it certainly doesn't hurt anything to be one either.

It's been a year since Rags finished the Long Road and while he still misses Bea, he has healed and finished mourning. Though his life has settled into a routine. Enter the daughter of old friends, Kim who is interested in the uses of his multimedia project, for tracking archaeological digs. Suddenly she is offered to head a archaeological survey of newly found caves on New Albion, as featured in another of Mr Bun's series. She brings him along as the official photographer. They soon find they are falling in love. Returning home, Kim receives a message that changes both their lives.

Today was the third time I have read "Live, Love and Laugh". I have read all of the "Rags to Riches" stories and feel like I know all the characters. What really impresses me is how the author has a unique ability to make these all seem so real, so entirely possible. There is one part, late in the book, that Kim reads a letter left for her by Bea. It has brought me to tears each time I've read it. I highly recommend this book BUT please be sure to read the earlier entries first.

Rags begins the next phase of his life with the support of friends, both old and new.The title of this story is accurate indeed. You will love the story laugh at the fun and humor and love the romance that develops for more than one character. Two suggestions, read The Long Road first and second check out Wally Greensage's books to better understand the setting of one part of this story.
