    Every time I read one of Jaimie's books I end up saying something in the line of "She did it yet again..!" and this time it won't be any different. I read Luca first time around 2 years ago (I think) and since that day Luca has been MY book hubby.. I know we book geeks make a habit of arguing about our book men, because we all want to claim them, but Luca is MINE.. Capiche!!
    He is the only book man you will ever hear me trying to claim (probably) because this Italian Stallion really is THAT sexy.. like leave your heart beating out of your chest and your panties on fire SEXY!

    But this book isn't all about the domineering Italian stallion (though he would probably have argued that it was, had he lived in the real world) but it is also about the strong and stubborn leading lady Carla who takes s*** from no one.
    Carla is one of my favorite leading ladies because of this simple reason and plus the fact that she knows how to stand on her own two feet without needing a man to save her every second of the day.

    So what am I saying?
    Well, Jaimie has yet again given us a multi dimensional story about characters with real emotions, tough pasts and a story line that leaves you not only drooling but hungry for more.. So READ IT!!

    Luca & clara. Running her castle on her own with her aunt , as a silent partner, Clara was so inferiorated by luca's demand for money and protection. It wasn't long after clara discovered who Luca is and fell in love with him.

    Absolutely loved this book, and yet I am left with a book hangover from hell, eagerly awaiting the next book in this series. Luca is dominating, controlling and a hot piece of ass, him and Clara the independent self reliant woman together makes for a book that you do not want to put down. It gets to the point, no excuses, no censoring. Just the way I love the books I read. I highly recommend this read, if your offended by control and domaninance, probably not the book for you. You're missing out.

    first of all - the story was lacking in originality BUT I could have swallowed that no question asked if all the other segments did the work.
    Unfortunately they didn't.
    The characters were quite frankly immature! IMMATURE. Irritantly IMMATURE!!!
    therefore, their "lines" were immature. As well as their actions. Totally unbelievable, without any credibility. And most of the time i was rolling my eyes.
    i love ALPHAS, I can bear the "cavemanish" act BUT it has to lead to a point that is much more consistent than the jo-jo action of "her running in anger from him and him chasing her down for a bit of a reassurance"
    that could pass for one time or two, but the whole book, well no.

    and then the cliffer...now that was just smth I had known it would happen at the 50% of the book.
    I honestly don't know why i kept going...as this point I am quite mad at myself...
    well, there were some good points, I can't deny it...and some funny banter...so I will acknowledge that BUT that was just not enough to rate this book with higher than 2 stars

    I absolutely loved this book. All the characters were great. I love a strong women character and it funny all the bickering back and forth between the 2 main characters. I also like how strong and loyal almost all of the girls were in the book. Its great too see girls have each other backs . The only dislike is going to have to be waiting till book 2 comes out!!!

    3.5 STARS. I found Clara immature for someone who owns a brothel and runs a business. The bickering between Luca and her got old quickly and then he wanted to constantly get reacquainted. This story was hard to hold my interest. I have read other books from this author and truly enjoyed them.

    When I began this book I was not sure I would like it as I felt the scenario would never happen in real life but then I kept reading and at some point I just wanted more. This book is Italian Stallone hot. Jaimie once again did not disappoint and the ending has me wanting more and waiting for book two.

    Clara is an independent brothel owner who doesn't take any sh*t from anyone. Luca Belatoni seemed to be in for a fight coming in from Clara after he tried to strong arm her and her business. He shows up with his forceful mafia ways man handling Clara and her business. Luca holds her in her own Castle until she relents to his demands. Clara fuming and hurt by her aunt's decision to go to Luca for help in exchange Luca gained her aunt's shares of the business.

    Clara seemed to be more of a strong willed independent woman but I was disappointed with her quick resolve. She gave into Luca so quickly she did not have the show the personality she was perceived to have. I had hoped she would handed Luca his ass on a platter but was disappointed. I did still enjoy the storyline and the characters but I wanted more of Clara's perceived strong personality. It was more of an understanding but not experienced in the story. This was different from Jaimie's usual strong willed female characters.

    With all that being said I do love me some Jaimie Roberts and have floved every book of hers previously maybe that is why I feel disappointed Luca was lacking. I will definitely read the rest of the series. The storyline and characters were still worth the read but I missed Jaimie's usual hot, sexy, spunky, independent, strong women and absorbing storyline. Maybe my expectations have been so high it was doomed from the beginning. This is only book one and look forward to reading book 2.

A top alpha male, with a strong alpha female, yes this book has both in spades, as well as lots of anger, passion, and emotion, you will love Luca and Clara there just so easy to read about and I was hooked from the start, just as you wonder what will happen next its all there, no dragging things out for half the book, something some writers think makes a good book. wrong, it gets old fast, but there is none of this, well not really, but the little twist in the end is enough to make you want to pull your hair out, even more so seeing as I've now got to wait for more. Grrr here's a fan that will be keeping an eye out for more on Luca, with bated breath, and that twitch we all get while we wait for more from a great writer

    What a combination of two unforgettable characters, I have read the duet books several times over and the enjoyment of reading them is immense. It’s not a dark romance perhaps a touch of grey. The journey of Luca trying to strong arm Clara into submission was epic. She wasn’t weak willed, they were equals and that’s hard to pull off in a story with an Alpha male.
