Brooke Blaine is an author who loves to write sassy contemporary romance, whether in the form of comedy or suspense. She has been a book-a-holic since she learned how to read.

Luci Christian is a full-time, professional actor living in Houston, Texas. In addition to appearing on-camera in commercial and film work, Luci's prolific voice career spans television, radio, industrial and e-learning, and she's an internationally known anime and video game voice actor. She received her M.F.A. in Acting from Lousiana State University, and when she's not talking into a microphone she's usually hanging out with her husband and daughter and trying to get more sleep.

    First, before I even get into the book I have to say that I desperately need a place like Licked in my life.

    With that said, I loved this book. I expected to enjoy it, but I don’t think I expected to absolutely love it. Licked is fun and sexy and hilarious and it makes me wish that I could hang out with Ryleigh and her group of friends. I laughed out loud about as often as I swooned. There was a great balance of hilarity and sexual tension.

    Brooke Blaine does an amazing job creating characters that you want to be like and hang out with. Ryleigh is a ton of awesome. I love that she is totally retro and has been for most of her life, even when it didn’t really benefit her in high school. She doesn’t apologize for her style or her unusual business or the names of the ice cream at her business.

    Brooke also created some swoonworthy men to vie for Ryleigh’s attention and oh boy were they delicious. I’m hoping that at some point we’ll maybe get to see a book featuring one of them…and that’s all I’ll say cause I don’t want to give anything away.

    I highly recommend Licked and will be telling everyone I know to read this book. I immediately picked up Hooker so I could see how Shayne’s story plays out. I can’t wait to read Paige’s book and Quinn’s book. The friends are all so different, but so damn wacky that they fit really well together. I love it.

    I think I spent the whole day with my mind in the gutter. Licked had the smutty in me smirking and giggling with my boasting going far and wide that I GOT LICKED. This book grabbed my attention a little while back with it’s bright and beautiful cover and catchy title. Then the chitter chatter started about this book that was funny, smutty and full of licking…ice-creams. Hmmm…very, very interesting, a highly successful business that caters to ice-cream lovers who don’t mind mixing it with a little bit of alcohol too. I can’t say I’ve seen too many stories set in an ice-cream shop. This is not your average ice-cream parlour though, Licked is pretty much Adults Only. All of the ice-creams have naughty names and meanings behind them.

    Ryleigh is an individual and has been her whole life. She loves the fashion, music, and movies of the 50’s and 60’s. Even when she was in high school she dressed in vintage type clothing with halter tops, swing skirts or pencil skirts with a flip at the bottom and high-heeled pumps. It wasn’t easy to grow up different and for a little while, she tried to be like everyone else. It just didn’t suit her. The older Ryleigh got the more comfortable she became being original. She owned it and gained confidence in her individuality. Her best friends are her biggest supporters and like a family to her. They encourage her to return to her old high school for a 10-year reunion. She wants to see her high school crush Cameron and show him what he missed out on by ignoring her back then.

    Funny thing is…Cameron saw her…and remembers her really well.

    The romance portion of Licked is not straight forward. Ryleigh and Cameron connect at the reunion and it seems like there is great potential for this couple. Then Ryleigh meets Cameron’s roommate Hunter and she can’t get him out of her head. With her friends help, Ryleigh must make a decision on who she wants in her life. Her old crush who’s still hot and very sweet - O R - the sexy new guy who’s a contractor that ends up saving the day when Ryleigh needs some renovations done at Licked. Decisions, decisions? Ryleigh has HOT and SWEET on one hand and SEXY and LIFE-SAVER on the other?

    I really enjoyed this story and got sucked in from the beginning to the end. I felt that the drama at the end was a little over the top, unnecessary and even a little rushed. The characters were easy to love and become attached too. I can’t wait for her friends to get their own story too.

    Now that I’ve been Licked, it’s time to meet the Hooker.

    Why oh why haven't I read a Brooke Blaine novel before. Licked was deliciously funny and sexy. Brooke Blaine you are a genius! Nothing less. I seriously devoured this book. Every single thing worked for me. The story felt fresh and original. The characters were so damn entertaining and interesting. Their friendship was spot on. The ladies, Ryleigh and her hilarious friends Shayne, Paige and Quinn were amazing. So much love poured into and from their friendship. I could relate to them. The writing was nothing more than sublime. I was laughing my ass off through out the book, because so many thoughts Ryleigh had I would definitely have too. The dialogue felt real and authentic. I simply loved it!

    Ryleigh was such a funny, spunky and down to earth woman. God, I loved her. I loved how comfortable she was with herself. She owned her style and stayed true to herself. Her love for her girl friends were fantastic. THEY were fantastic! Her inner dialogue with herself was perfect. 
    Her growing friendship/relationship with Hunter was written to perfection. I loved that it didn't felt forced and how they slowly got to know one another. Their attraction and chemistry was smoking hot and so sexy. I couldn't get enough of Ryleigh and Hunter.

    What's left to say except I have a huge craving for ice cream And booze! Brooke Blaine, I love your mind and your writing. Licked was perfection. These ladies now have a place in my heart.

Ryleigh owns a successful ice creamery that is stylish and fun - of course called "Licked". She might have found success in her business but not in the love department. That will all change when she goes to her 10 year class reunion and literally runs into her high school crush and the man in her fantasies ever since she was 15, Cameron. Her dream spending the night with him has come true but not in the way she imagined - but the scene is quite funny and very well done. What she didn't expect was to meet his sexy best friend and room mate Hunter the next morning while she looked like a mess...
    She should not be thinking about Hunter. She wants Cameron, he is the perfect gentlemen with sexy blue eyes and she has always dreamed of being with him. The problem? Hunter. He is the complete opposite of Cameron, he is cocky, works with his hands and she doesn't know anything about him except he makes her insides quiver with one look. Now, as a builder he is working for her and expanding and renovating her business she can't help the attraction but is he what she wants?
    Ryleigh is fabulous, she is independent, funny and has an original and divine sounding wardrobe. Her friends are also very entertaining and the dialogue is super fast and clever. Overall...Licked is deliciously sexy, sweet, funny and smart. The sexual innuendo was on point and it had the very best names for ice cream sundaes- ever.... Now...I want ice cream.

    If there's something I've discovered about Brooke Blaine, it's that she's quite the writing chameleon. Be it suspense, erotica or comedy, Brooke manages to serve up a tasty treat for her readers with a signature flair that keeps this particular reader coming back for more helpings.

    Licked is the second solo outing for Brooke and after the success of her first Novel Flashpoint and co-written Desperate Man series, it was a moot point that I would be eating this one up too.

    In regards to the blurb, if like me the thought of a love triangle makes you break out in a rash, trust me when I say "Take it with a sprinkle of sprinkles." With such a fantastic story and set up, Brooke easily pushed my concerns aside and had me eating out the palm of her hand in no time.

    Licked is a concoction of all things sweet and sinful. Lead by a feisty, ballsy heroine and the richness of a smooth hero, the story is a riot of hilarity and wit with a generous helping of emotional engagement. It’s a guaranteed pick me up whatever your mood. Quite honestly, I couldn’t get enough of it.

    So as I sit back and pat my belly after gorging on this deliciousness, the cherry on this delightful sundae is that there is more to come from this series and I for one can’t wait.

    I enjoyed the hell out of this! I thought the writing was lovely, providing a story that flowed smoothly and kept me thoroughly entertained from start to finish. The characters were also hugely likeable. The gals were hilariously relatable and the guys were dreamy beyond measure - definite book boyfriend material, here, ladies. The romance was the perfect mixture of sexy and sweet, and the entire thing was doused in a layer of good humour which kept a smile on my face throughout.

    After reading the synopsis, I was initially worried about the idea of a love triangle (which I generally loathe), but I feel it was a tad misleading because it was extremely obvious from very early in the story who the main love interest was going to be. And I adored this guy, a lot! He was god damn swoon-worthy. I even liked the other guy enough to want him to get his own story in this series. (Do you like how I'm not naming names as to avoid spoiling anything!?) Did I mention the quality of the book boyfriends we have on offering, here!?! *happy sigh*

    I think my favourite thing about this story was the ice-cream parlour itself (i.e. Licked). It was an absolutely delightful main backdrop for this adorable story to take place. The actual ice cream flavours were sinfully delicious and often wildly amusing. I mean, who wouldn't want to try the Up-the-Butt-er Peacan or the Stroke 'n Poke or (what I believe would be my personal favourite) the Cookie Dil-dough?? Even the alcoholic boozy shakes sounded fricken amazing! Seriously, if this place was real, I would set up camp outside and never leave.

    I'm looking forward to following this ragtag group of friends as they continue to find and claim their dream guys!

    Told from Ryleigh’s perspective for a fun fresh look at how high school can shape your identity but isn’t the only thing that does. In reality it is a very small amount of time in the grand scheme of things. Showing how belief in yourself goes a very long way, the price of popularity in high school isn’t the ticket to success through life. A rockabilly ice-cream goddess with an upbeat personality, Ryleigh is an adorable sassy character. However, realistically we all have insecurities that can mar even the steadiest of relationships. Discovering no spark with her old high school crush and instead falling for his roommate even though she doesn’t know him well can undermine anyone’s confidence :) However, the problem is only exasperated when Hunter can’t let down his barriers and let Ryleigh in on the things in his life that have altered him.

    The idea of soul mates plays out beautifully within the narrative, with Hunter understanding Ryleigh even better that she does herself ♥ SWOON ♥

    A fast paced, fun romance with minimum amounts of angst. I’m looking forward to the peripheral characters getting their own stories.

    I love this story, there's tons of literally laugh out loud humour as well as toe curling and skin tingling passion.

    My usual read is normally more of a angsty, edge of your seat kind of story with darker tones but this story and this authors writing was an amazing experience, I'm so glad I picked this book up ! I will also be searching out more work from this author.

    We meet Ryleigh who's always been a bit different in her tastes, her style is more vintage retro and I love that about her, she's not afraid to be herself no matter what.
    She attends her high school reunion where she attracts the attention of the popular guy .....and his best friend !
    2 hot guys .....what's a girl to do ?
    Mix this senario with a few sassy mouthed girlfriends, oh and some amazing alcoholic ice cream based beverages and boom you have ....Licked !
