A lonely doctor and a caring nurse.
It didn't take long to find success, can love come as easily...

After Alejandro Alvarez’s best friend dies of kidney disease while in high school, Alejandro vows to change his life. Determined to help others suffering from his friend’s illness, he rejects joining his father’s pediatrics practice and instead trains as a nephrologist and a transplant surgeon. Fourteen years later, devotion to his career has rewarded him with a reputation as an excellent surgeon, but success has left him alone, with no family that he can call his own. Pediatric Intensive Care Nurse Tammy Johansen is on duty when an infant must undergo a life-saving transplant. Working closely with famed surgeon Dr. Alejandro Alvarez, she sees the sensitive, lonely man beneath his professional exterior and wonders can such a man be interested in someone like her? As they battle to save the tiny patient, Alejandro struggles with the emptiness within himself until the lovely and compassionate nurse at his side catches his attention. In that moment, one look at Tammy forever changes his life. Life’s Forever Changed is the Prequel to Anne Stone’s The Show Me series.

I received a free advanced copy of Life’s Forever Changed, from author Anne Stone for an honest review. This was the first book I have read by this author. Before writing the review I went and purchased the remaining Kindle books in the “The Show Me Series”. I thoroughly enjoyed the way Anne Stone writes her stories. in Life’s Forever Changed, she takes you along the journey of a transplant doctor who is so absorbed by his work he doesn’t realize what he is missing in life, until he connects with a nurse, after a surgery where she is the nurse of his tiny patient.

Where most authors only take you on the journey of a couple meeting, courtship and then the wedding, and leaves to your own imagination on what happens next. Anne Stone lets you know what happens after the beautiful wedding. As to not give any of this wonderful story away, I highly recommend you read Life’s Forever Changed, Anne will have you excited, laughing and sobbing all in one book. Anne puts words to the page that flow so smoothly and quickly you will be halfway through the book before you’ve had a chance to blink. The story will remind you how precious life is and to cherish all those special moments. I hope you enjoy Life’s Forever Changed as much as I have.

When I started the book, I went in with a lot of expectations. I knew it's a prequel of sorts so it was very short and just took a few hours to finish the book in one sitting. But I was getting distracted while reading. The main reason was that it was a pretty straight forward love story.

The story went like this - Tammy and Alejandro both know each other and fall in love with each other suddenly. I felt it was rather sudden and other than that, I was okay with the tale since it was fun getting to know them both in detail. Yes, they were well planned characters. And that kept the tedium to the minimum.

The title hinted at something which would lead to major change. What I envisioned was totally opposite to what the change was. That was one twist which made reading the story worth it. And another thing was it was not riddled with passionate scenes. It was wholesome. That was another big plus in my opinion.

So I am actually interested enough to read Alejandro's main story now but as for continuing the series, I am not 100% sure.

My one line review : A pretty straight forward love story.

    My rating : 3.5/5

    My reread factor : 2.5/5

To me the most important thing to know is that in Life’s Forever Changed, there’s NO HEA!! I realize that doesn’t matter to some, but for the rest of us, I agree with others that a warning or heads up REALLY would have appreciated! This eternal optimist was hoping the “forever change” was something wonderful. Counting on the HEA is one reason we read.

3 stars because the story and characters were interesting.
Also to answer stunting ends mentioned, I mean absolutely no offense to this author, but there are a lot of wonderful, clean books out there with tons of chemistry & passionate kisses. They are Sweet and Swoony.

It is a shame that the story didn't really meet up to its title and the blurb. I didn't bother finishing reading it as I found the whole scenario unbelievable, even the main female character thought the guy was going way too fast! Felt like it was written by someone from high school. There were too many unnecessary additions, which ruined the flow of the story, and I found myself getting irritated at what was meant to be something romantic.

I think it could have been written better and the story developed to reflect each of the character's traits. They were meant to be adults, but acted like from high school or worse, junior high, when it came to love!

I hope that this is a one-off as this is the first book by the author that I have read.

I voluntarily received a copy of this book for an honest review, which is mine alone.

Whether this is the first book you read by this talented author, or you are a long time fan like myself, this story will touch you and make you fall in love with the author’s writing.
The prequel gives us a better insight of doctor Alejandro Alvarez, whom we met in the first book of the series.
We get a chance to meet Tammy Johansen, who works in the same hospital as he does. A friendship develops into a romance and marriage, but will this time is the HEA unreachable?
You will feel joy for him at times, and at others , the sadness takes over and all you want to do is get into the pages so you can give him a hug and tell him you are there for him.
Once again, a jewel of a story. One that will not be easily forgotten and one that will make you a fan of Ms Stone’s forever. Thank you for sharing your talent, Ms Stone.
I was gifted this copy. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

I have not read a more moving book lately than this one. A doctor wishes for love and finds it with a nurse that he is acquainted with at the hospital. They both fall in love immediately and marriage and a child follow. This book incorporates the lives of both of their families so you feel you really do know and understand them. But as life often does, it throws curveballs and deaths. Everyone is so devastated and as only Anne can do, the book winds thru everything. I could not put the book down especially as things began to unravel in a way that took me by surprise. The ending (one of them) was not what I thought it would be but not all of life's endings are. However there is hope on the horizon already for this doctor through his sister which has a hugh role in the story. This book is a standalone but I know there is another book called Life's Second Chances.

You will not be sorry that you read this book. I know I am happy that I did.
