About the author

Morgan Brice is the romance pen name of bestselling author Gail Z. Martin. Morgan writes urban fantasy MM paranormal romance, with plenty of action, adventure and supernatural thrills to go with the happily ever after. Gail writes epic and urban fantasy, with less romance, more explosions.
All of the modern-day Morgan Brice and Gail Z. Martin series crossover, so characters from one series appear in cameos and on page in important secondary roles in books from other series. Each book can be read as a standalone, but the more you read the more the expanded universe of friendships and connections becomes clear.
Morgan and Gail believe that paranormal elements make any story even better, and her worlds are full of ghosts, psychics, shifters, creatures, vampires, monster hunters, and magic.
She's also a huge fan of the TV show Supernatural. (Chibi art by Kamidiox)

- Reviewed in the United States on April 14, 2024Such a sweet story. Monty is a medium and Jon is a ghost that’s been dead over 70 years. As they meet and get to know one another they fall in love.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 19, 2023This is one of the most unique love stories that I have ever read. When I saw the premise I wasn't sure how this could be done well enough to keep my interest. I was so wrong! Monty and Jon are a charming couple and I loved reading about their connection. And nothing in the story felt contrived or forced.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 31, 2023Monty and Jon bond over old movies and board games, which sounds familiar, but they have an unusual relationship. Delightfully sweet!
- Reviewed in the United States on February 17, 2023This is the first ghost/human romance I’ve read, and I really enjoyed it. I was wondering how they would make anything work between them beyond a platonic friendship, but went into the story with an open mind knowing this would be an unconventional pairing.
Both Monty and Jon are characters you can feel for. Monty is so sweet, and I just wanted to wrap him up in a big hug. As a ghost, Jon already had my sympathy, but even more so once I discovered his backstory. These two becoming friends first eases you into things, but later as they grew to mean more to each other it did take a little bit to get used to such an unusual relationship.
There may be some who think “why bother when you can find someone alive?”, but not everyone can find that other person - and in the end, the heart wants what the heart wants…even if others can’t understand it. This story celebrates that, while also throwing in some angst along the way so you really want things to end up all right between these two wonderful men.
I thought this story was very well done, creative, and unique. Monty and Jon are perfect together, and as long as they are happy that’s all that matters. It makes for a great read, and I’m giving Light My Way Home 4.5 stars. Oh, and if you think there could never be anything physical between them…yeah, well this one I’d recommend for 18+ for a bit of adult content ;-)
- Reviewed in the United States on February 5, 2023Monty Clark is the park ranger for Cape May Lighthouse. He is also the tour guide and works on improving the museum. He wishes he had someone in his life, someone who can accept the fact that he is a psychic medium. He discovers a ghost on the beach who turns out to be Jon Richards, a stuntman who was murdered on the beach in the 1950s. Eventually the two strike up a conversation and soon they are sharing movies and books and games. Both men discover that love comes no matter who you are.
Light My Way Home is excellently done. Morgan Brice is truly a gifted storyteller. She takes two unlikely heroes and gives them true love. Both were hesitant but they had to find a way to succeed. Their path is rocky and there was some despair when Jon disappeared for a bit. Jon was known as the ghost savior on the beach area. A beautiful love story, be sure to pick this one.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 7, 2023This was short and sweet. It’s light on plot, and as it’s a novella, things move quickly. If you enjoy a different kind of paranormal m/m romance with almost insta-love, a little bit of mystery and history, and not a whole lot of plot, then this book will serve your needs. I was kind of meh about it, but this could be because I didn't read the first book in the series, though it is a stand alone. Still, I might have cared more if I already knew the side character and saw this as a companion.

I love Morgan Brice and have read almost all of her paranormals. I truly wanted to love this book, too. I just think the topic stretched my imagination a little too thin. I never got on board with a man being attracted to and craving a relationship with a ghost.
The novella was well written, and Ms. Morgan does paint a vivid picture of her characters. Monty is a park ranger and maintains a lighthouse. He loves and excels at his job. He is also a medium and has always seen ghosts. This neck of the woods provides him with plenty of opportunities.
Jon died decades ago and has chosen to remain where he passed rather than move on. He was a stuntman and still has strong memories of his past. When a man approaches him and starts up a conversation, Jon is stunned that he can be seen.
The two form a friendship, and Monty is very smitten. The feeling is mutual with Jon. I tried really hard, but I just couldn’t see this as an authentic relationship. On a strong note, Ms. Morgan has some unique twists and interesting scenes. This book may not be one I will revisit, but it might work for you. It is definitely an innovative storyline, and I admire her creativity. Happy reading!

- Reviewed in the United States on February 1, 2023What a wonderfully romantic story.
A crime on a beach causes the death of Jon, a movie stunt man.
Decades later, a psychic medium, Monty, takes a job at that very beach as the lighthouse keeper.
When Monty reached out to a ghost, he finds his future!
Through their love of old movies they are able to create a budding friendship allowing them to act on their attraction to each other.
Maybe they won't have to be lonely anymore...
