Looking At Forever (The Rock Gods Book 4) Kindle Edition
Sonny (Rooster) Roostarelli leaves the seclusion of his Vancouver cabin, where he went to lick his wounds after a contentious divorce, and moves back to Los Angeles. He claims relocating to L.A. is for business purposes, but now that the dust has settled on his failed marriage, Rooster feels he might finally be ready to settle down – with a man. A chance encounter for Wheland and Rooster on a busy L.A. street rekindles an old friendship between the two professional musicians. Rooster needs a short-term place to stay and Wheland has plenty of extra space at his hillside estate and that lands Rooster in Wheland's guest room.
What starts out as a music collaboration opportunity quickly turns personal when the chemistry they have becomes too strong to ignore and soon the music they're making spills from the studio and into the bedroom. The road is a grueling bitch musicians love to hate. Being on stage under the hot lights can sometimes be the only place they feel comfortable and alive. Can two high-profile rock stars make a life together in such an artificial world – on and off the stage... or will past mistakes and family secrets keep them from finding their forever?

Review
Normally I start my reviews with my impression of the main characters in a story, but the synopsis for LOOKING AT FOREVER does an exceptional job setting the background for these two characters. If you haven't read it yet I recommend you do so now. ;) What I will say is this:
Mick Wheland: Holy rock-star hotness. Talk about a character that has a loooooong fuse. He is a steady and unassuming presence in the band, but when Wheland lets his inner bad-boy out to play he dominates the page, and Rooster too! You know what they say, "It's always the quiet ones."
Sonny (Rooster) Roostarelli: I want to cuddle him so hard! His kind and generous personality won me over instantly. He's silly, sexy and has a dirty mind... what's not to love?
The physical and emotional chemistry between Wheland and Sonny is so palpable that it melted both my heart and my e-reader! LOOKING AT FOREVER is the fourth in Lister's The Rock Gods series and there is a lot going on in this story. The characters are well established, fans who have been following the series will be delighted with the way Ann continues to develop the relationships from previous books without distracting attention away from Wheland and Rooster's story. It's the first book I've read in the series, so technically it can be read out of order, but I wouldn't recommend doing so. It's such an amazing and well written story that you're going to buy the first three as soon as you finish this one anyway... that's what I did!

About the author

Ann Lister is a native New Englander currently living in Florida with her husband. She has pulled details from her years living in the New England area and uses many local settings and landmarks in her novels.
After graduating art school, marrying, and raising two daughters, she established her own video production company. Her nearly two decades working in video production included work within the music industry and won her a coveted Telly Award. Her 'behind-the-scenes' exposure to the music world and her love of rock music is the inspiration for her erotic rock star romances.
The Rock Gods series gave her Bestselling Author status on Amazon. Beyond The Music, Book 7 in the series, hit #1 in the Gay Erotica genre during the Pre-Order and held that spot for several weeks. This last book in The Rock Gods series launches the spin-off series, Guarding The Gods, which releases in early Summer of 2016.
Fall For Me, Book One in the series was a Finalist in the 2013 Rainbow Award. Each book in this series brings her two favorite elements together: musicians and the love between two men. These stories focus on what it truly means to love; love unconditionally, love without restrictions or labels, love without fear or judgment – to just simply love.

- Reviewed in the United States on December 11, 2014Wow! Ann has again outdone herself in this 4th book of the Rock Gods Series!! The characters are amazing and you'll fall in love with them as the story line follows all 4 books. The hot sex, drama, romance, and excitement just gets better and better. In this novel, Mick Wheland, lead guitarist of Ivory Tower, was the bad boy in the group, but after seeing his band brothers fall to forever relationships, he wonders if he will ever find the right one, The Right Man...A chance car accident has him meeting up with an old friend Sonny Roosterilli, who is also a high profile musician. Wheland invites him to stay with him since he just got back to LA, and both have mixed vibes from the other. Each not knowing if the other is interested in the other, Wheland sets off to try and find out by bringing a girl in the mix which confuses them both, but ultimately the subject is brought up and their feelings for one another and the Sex gets Hot. Their relationship grows as each day passes, then Ivory Tower has to go on tour for 9 months...He wants Sonny to go, but touring was one reason Sonny doesn't do it any more. Their absence from one another tests their relationship, but it just gets deeper. The story includes all the other characters of the other 3, and the continuity of the lives of these people interacting is amazing. With all the curves that life throws at them all, they all pull together and are there for one another. This is truly a beautiful Love Story with a happy ending. If you love MM Romance and where it can take them and you, you will love this one. I highly recommend the whole series. Don't miss it.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 30, 2015There's a little repetition to the themes of Ann Lister's books with a lot of GFY and first time gay. She threw in just a little kink with this one. It was a nice, sweet romance with issues specific to the storyline of rock stars on tour, paparazzi and fans. It helps to read the preceding books. They are very much fantasies of bands full of gay/bi men. Hardly anything you'd find in reality but fun to imagine. I'm not a stickler for realism in this type of book. I rate it in the spirit I feel it was written.
I did have issues with the proofreading and editing. There were way too many incorrect homonyms, incorrect possessive and plural usage and incorrect or extra words. I kind of expect better of this sort of series. I personally don't reflect this negatively in my reviews unless it's so egregious it makes the story unreadable or not understandable. In this case it was annoying but I'm only judging the story being told. The missing star is because too much of the dialogue is a little stiff and sterile. A tendency to not use contractions doesn't help. And while the sex scenes try to be hot, I don't feel the arousal and desire coming through. The exclamations and dialogue doesn't sound like people in the throes of passion. I'll still keep reading to find out what happens with the other characters.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 21, 2014I suppose this book really does not need another review, but I have one in my head and I have decided to put it down on the paper.
I have read the previous story and liked the story, but not Wheland that much. This story is his and it gives us his good sides and his flaws.
We find out more about his background. His father had turned out to be an adulter. He had been married with a rich woman, but kept Wheland's mother as mistress for years. Wheland discovered this when his half-sister sought him out to tell him that their shared father was dead. At once his world as he knew it had shattered. Suddenly, at nineteen, he had to step up and support his alcoholic mother and two younger siblings. His siblings took gladly all the money he offered until they finished the school and - well, as they say, ingratitude is often the "salary" one gets. All this did something to him. Fortunately his band became his family, because otherwise he would be all alone.
Wheland has lately been playing on both sides of the fence, trying to find out where he belongs. His previous sexual encounters with Cooper has "come back and bit him in his backside" several times, especially in relation to Jayson, Cooper's boyfriend.
Then by chance Wheland meets Sonny, an acquaintance from the past, a man who had (after his divorce) for a while retreated to the relative isolation of his cabin. Wheland is on his way to get drunk because of the memories and Sonny has just returned to L.A. to take up his music production again.
An invitation to stay with Wheland is the start on their journey towards HEA. The men fall fast and hard. In the beginning it is the music that binds them, later the love that is almost obsessive. In a good way, in my mind. Wheland interrupts the tour of his band, to support Sonny during his mother's illness and subsequent death. Sonny on the other hand suppresses his aversion to touring, just to be with his man.
Those who have read the previous stories will get an update. Alex and his triad get some good news, Cooper and Jayson plan a wedding - and of course there are hints about upcoming stories. There is lots of sex in this book, with episodes of bondage and voyeurism - not always quite comfortable reading for me. All in all - it was an enjoyable time with my kindle.

3.0 out of 5 stars It was ok
I admit going into this I wasn't expecting to enjoy it as much as the previous books because I found Wheland to be such a shallow, manipulative and frustrating character - I really didn't like him at all. Perhaps that skewed my view, but the characters are what the author has made them.
The attempt at BDSM was a little off. We get told that Wheland was into it, and Rooster open to it, but the way it was delivered just didn't seem to flow smoothly with the rest of the story, or match the personalities they showed the rest of the time. It came across as awkward and forced rather than natural.
The overall storyline itself I didn't find as compelling or interesting as the previous books. It seemed bland in comparison, even with the situation with one of Wheland's previous hookups - that wasn't necessary for the book at all and was an obvious ploy from the author to try and add drama to the story. In the end, I found myself skimming a lot of sections. I just wasn't invested in Wheland or Rooster like I was with the characters in earlier books.
On a plus, we finally get to meet the other members of Black Ice - something that has been sorely lacking since Book 1 failed to mention them at all except in passing.
I'm still interested in reading more in the series, but in all honesty could probably have skipped this book. I don't feel it added much to any of the characters or potential future storylines either.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant series.! Excited for more.!
What a beautiful story, It's felt like a long time coming waiting to hear all about Wheland.
When Rooster came crashing into his life literally, you couldn't wish for anything better they were perfect for each other, their journey had some extremely touching moments though, Ann Lister does such a wonderful job at portraying every emotion it's hard to put down, it all becomes so addictive.
This series has been without a doubt fantastic and it all started with Dagger and Ryan just over a year ago and I remember how I felt because I'd read all her other books which are fantastic anyway and then along came this series and it was something else..!! And it seamed like forever waiting for each instalment, I was constantly checking her website.
I love everything else that's going on with all the other characters, Tony and Jared, Ashton and Dante all the drama and potential for other stories there's never a dull moment that's for sure..
I know it must have been tough for Ann to finish 'Looking at Forever' because of recently loosing her parents close together and for that we must be very grateful, so thank you and I'm so looking forward to reading 'Meant for Me' in 2015..

5.0 out of 5 stars The new favorite *__*
I don't know why, but with every book of the Rock Gods I read, this actual book becomes my favorite. It was like this with Wheland's and Rooster's story. At first I didn't want to read this book at all, because Wheland was a real jerk in Cooper's story. But now I am really glad I read it. I love the development Wheland's character has and how hard it is for the notorious "No-relationship-guy" to leave his boyfriend and go on tour.
I am really happy that it was relatively easy for Rooster and Wheland and there wasn't a big bump inside their relationship that they had to overcome. However there was a bump, but I am not going to spoiler it. Just read the book, it is one of the best of this series...

4.0 out of 5 stars Two men who know what they want!
About time Wheland got his story. Loved the way Rooster and Wheland reconnected and it went from strength to strength from there. I had difficulty with a few parts, particularly when there was danger of a miscarriage and the tour was still going on.it was only former bad boy Wheland stating that he had to support Rooster that Alex finally saw that family comes first and the band comes second fir the tour to get postponed.
I enjoyed that both of them were ready to settle down and make adjustments and committed to each other and trusted each other with being apart. Face time is my new fantasy!
Enjoy
