LuvU4Ever (A Moment in Time Book 1) Kindle Edition

4.2 out of 5 stars 56 ratings

LuvU4Ever. That's what was engraved on the gold heart David gave Noelle when he proposed before they'd even graduated from high school.

Cut off by both their families, their love sustained them and they managed to survive. Years of hard work found them successful and still in love. At least, Noelle knew she was still in love with David. After overhearing a snippet of his phone conversation, she's having doubts about David's commitment to her.

"I told you to never call me at home."

What happened to his promise to love her forever? Her life is unraveling since those nine little words destroyed her happiness. Have they also destroyed her marriage? Or has David done that all by himself?

Her heart feels as if it's breaking. Now she faces the biggest decision of her life. Will she ignore what she heard and act as if nothing is wrong? Will she lash out and get some kind of payback to teach him a lesson? Will she choose love and forgiveness? Or will she simply walk away?

Secrets, heartaches, and a second chance at love will keep you turning the pages until you reach the satisfying ending.

Joan Reeves, Writing Happily Ever After—Time After Time, is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of Romance. Regardless of the sub-genre, all of her novels have the same underlying premise: "It's never too late to live happily ever after. Her novels have been published in half a dozen languages, and her books are available in audio, ebook, and print.

NOTE: Since Joan has been writing for several years and had print books published with many publishers—American and foreign—be sure you choose a print book with a copyright date after 2011 because Amazon shows all of her old print books here. (Authors have no control over this.) The new print editions have been expanded and show new cover art.

When not writing romance—or nonfiction to share what she has learned in life—Joan divides her time between the hustle and bustle of Houston and a house in the Texas Hill Country where she and her hero, her husband, sit on the porch at night, look at the star-studded sky, and listen to the coyotes howl.

LuvU4Ever becomes the bittersweet words that linger throughout this story. The youngish, new love phrasing was engraved on the gold heart David gave Noelle when he proposed. The gold heart is all that David could afford at the time, and for Noelle, it's as valuable as any diamond could ever be.
But, as so often happens in relationships, other words begin to replace the ones spoken in the beginning, and doubt begins to creep in, rapidly turning the feeling of love, to one of suspicion and anger.
The old adage that love and hate walk side by side, is aptly depicted in this story, taking the reader from the interior thoughts of Noelle, to the raw and sensual side that her love/hate has produced. The author deftly guides the reader through all the emotions which finally build to a highly sexual solution for Noelle...let the games begin...and let David get a taste of what he's going to lose.
As has been mentioned, LuvU4Ever is a short story. For me, short stories are a lost art, but thankfully, they're gaining ground again in the reading world, thanks in part to e-readers, small presses which embrace them and Indie books. If an author can bring home a short story, draw the reader in and make them want more, they've done their job. Authors should grab the reader page by page, and never let go.
This short story delivers in a few words, what a story should. There's no pause in the page turning, and for those who enjoy sexual scenes? Just right :) Grab a copy and read it at lunch, or more appropriately, just before bed.

Joan Reeves crafts a delightful and compelling romance.

While it may be short, it is vivid and certainly hits home for many women. The characters of Noelle and David are quite 'real' and I found their story poignant.

If you have never read a Joan Reeves romance before (where have you been!) this is a fabulous introduction to her romantic style!

A cute short story about miscommunication in a marriage. I liked that it wasn't a long drawn out drama over something that could be cleared up in a conversation.

This story had a bit of a twist. Lots of steam and sexy times once they get together. It took me a bit to realize what was happening but good ending.

I love a good short story with a beginning, middle and strong ending and 'LuvU4Ever' delivers with no cliffhangers to cheat the reader.

I can relate to Noelle taking care of her mother when she is sick and away from her husband as I have done it several times for both my parents and it does put stress on the best relationship with a spouse. 'LuvU4Ever' is based on a giant misunderstanding and David soon sets Noelle right with a perfect gift.

'LuvU4Ever' is one short story I would recommend to all lovers of romance!

What a great short story. Continue with your writing. I would recommend to family and friend. I was however a bit disappointed that it ended so quickly.
