- Reviewed in the United States on December 8, 2019It's always a pleasure rediscovering an author that u read in the distant past. I didn't realize I read one
of her works in 2015. Surprisingly, I wrote a review on the book. Really, it is great to know that the author continues to impress by poignant characters and generally creating scenes that are succinct absent excessive elaboration. Almost every page draws the reader into the story creating a pleasurable reading experience. Now , this is someone who knows their craft !!
- Reviewed in the United States on November 18, 2019Good story. Way too many unnecessary sex scenes. I'm looking forward to the sequel. Perhaps the author will concentrate more on adventure rather than sex.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 5, 2019This book has everything: magic, dragons, action, suspence, romance and great sex. Worning, there is rape, but it adds to the evil intent of the enemies in the book and how important it is that they must be stopped. This book kept me at the edge of my seat, rooting for the good guys to preserver.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 6, 2020On the whole this book is a good read. The plot is a little jagged but not overwhelmingly so. The main character is interesting, a little stereotypical maybe, but engaging. The main problem I have with the story is perhaps a purely personal one. There's a lot of unemotional sex, and it's quite incestuous in the way that the main character has sex with every other significant character, no matter what their interlinking relationships may be. It cheapens all the relationships, and when there finally is sex with love attached the meaning is pretty much buried. Also, every contact with an adversary seems to turn into a near rape. I didn't understand the emphasis on sex, and I didn't like it. It was distracting. Like I said, it could be my own personal quirk, but this is a review and therefore I must give my opinion.

- Reviewed in the United States on October 9, 2019This is an amazing m/m romance.
This author has sucked me into this world and now I sit here awaiting the next series.
I have read one other book from this author and have re-read it time and time again.
This was just spectacular.
Ignore that 1 star review it was written by a person who obviously cannot read categories.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 1, 2020I found the main character to be too much a Mary Sue - even for the fantasy genre - and the story was too padded out with long, long sex scenes. I got bored of how incredibly often the main character having sex factored into a scene somehow. I also object to romanticizing the unrealistic (and in a few cases, legit unsafe) sexual interactions. Sexual positivity is great, but this sexual depiction that sacrifices real character - and real sexual interaction - undermines story, and in my opinion undermines true LGBT representation. Disappointing.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 14, 2019I love books about magic. This one delivers. The relationship between master and apprentice is well developed. Well worth reading. If gay relationships bother you go elsewhere, but otherwise, you won't regret the time and money you spend on this one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Scorching in more than one way!
A delightfully intense tale of a boy coming into his destiny and finding plenty of love and friendship along the way! Every sex scene is wonderful in its own way and all of them are incandescently hot. There’s a deeply evil villain who is also cunning and clever, a noble king, a playful kitling, a beloved friend, and a reluctant master mage, not to mention the main character Jander, and all of them feel fully realised and 3-dimensional.
Very much looking forward to reading the next book in the series!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great read
Really enjoyed this book as a precursor to the Dragon Mage Chronicles (the first of which I hope will be available in the not too distant future). The author is, I believe, amongst the best in this genre and I have never been disappointed with any of his/her books. If you’re into magic, mages, mm romance and dragons, this is the book for you. I thoroughly recommend it.
