About the author

Patrick worked in advertising with some of the most globally recognised agencies and brands. Prior to that he served in the military. With an enduring fascination for military history, and spurred on by two lockdowns, he took to writing stories.
His debut WW2 aviation thriller is called 'The Lightning and The Few,' and tells the story of Jox McNabb, a Scottish schoolboy who earns his wings in his country's hour of need.
The Jox McNabb series continues with 'The Raiders and the Cross' following Jox through the furnace of the Blitz and the siege of Malta. 'The Maple and the Blue' sees him involved with the tragic raid on Dieppe, before heading back to the Mediterranean.
The fourth book of the series, 'The Vulcan and the Straits' sees Jox and No. 111 Squadron involved in Operation Torch, the invasion of Vichy North Africa and then Operation Husky, the invasion of Sicily. Book Five, 'the Wire and the Lines' covers the Invasion of Italy and is published in February 2025.
Patrick's first stand-alone novel was published in October 2024 and is a paranormal military thriller called 'The Brookwood Boys.' It tells the story of restless ghosts in a military cemetery and explores the tragic legacy of war on the living and the dead.
A further stand-alone novel about a main character's previous lives as different soldiers is expected for publication in 2025.

- Reviewed in the United States on January 7, 2024This series is one of the most well written and enjoyable I have read. Patrick Parsimony has a style of writting that reaches out and leads the reader into a fascinating story of World War Two pilots and their sometimes exciting and often sad careers. Great read.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 21, 2024This book parts of the Second World War that are often overlooked, Malta, Dieppe. A very interesting story woven amongst historical figures.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 28, 2023Let the author take you through the grittiness of air combat over England and France. Then it’s into the hell and heat of Africa. Losses of friends and loved ones hurt, but the brave Scot continues his fight. Must read book for fans of WW2!
- Reviewed in the United States on February 3, 2024Too much history and not enough storyline! So thin it almost slides off the page. So much naming of persons with the nickname always tagging along, when this could have been filled with a better plot!

4.0 out of 5 stars war action reports from WW2.
The terrible war where many Canadians died on the beach. Superior German forces attacked from the cliff tops. Canadians were unprepared for action on the slippery shares.
The story follows pilots through these reports. Great details of the spitfires in action in Belgium, Malta and North Africa, only a few from the original joining survive to live to old age.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another well written tale of WW2 and its horrors
There are so many of these books around now but this story is well told and nicely written
How these brave souls on either side of the evil that is war lived, fought and died is a heart rending tribute to their bravery
All wars end by talking and signing a peace treaty, such a tragedy that we can’t just skip the horror and cut to the end of the chase
