"Another fun and crazy tale." - Gay Book Reviews

From the Author

A NOTE FROM THE AUTHORDear Reader,Looking back at my childhood, two shows stand out as pivotal in capturing my imagination: The original Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! And Kolchak: The Night Stalker.I did read some of The Hardy Boys books while growing up, but really enjoyed watching the Scooby-Doo cartoons. However, I was always let down that it never turned out to be real monsters. So naturally, I was not disappointed in Kolchak: The Night Stalker. Now, these two shows may seem unalike in that one is animated and the other not, but they both dealt with investigations into monsters, supernatural, and the paranormal. Also, they both fed my curiosity of unexplained mysteries and otherworldly phenomenon. That's where The Hard Boys come in and if I can throw sex into the mix...Why the Hell not?!I thought you may find it beneficial that I envision this series as very cartoonish. I understand this could add, detract, or have no effect in your experience reading this book. I thought I would mention it, but of course encourage you to envision and interpret however you choose. After all, that is the ultimate magick in reading.Enjoy,Ian Cadena

Ian Cadena started writing when he was a kid. Instead of paying attention in school he wrote out scripts to act out later with his action figures. Later, he discovered Dungeons & Dragons and as a Dungeon Master wrote out his own stories for his fellow players and gave them their own unique backgrounds and history.

He accomplished a degree in Theater and Writing. He is a Reiki Master and enthralled with all things mystic and paranormal. He possesses numerous tarot decks and has had at least one out-of-body experience... maybe two.

When he’s not concocting a new story from his secret lair, he’s brewing up some eats or drinks in his cauldron (kitchen).

Ian loves to stay in touch with his readers. Here is where you can conjure him up:

The Hard Boy Series is a bit like those feel good songs, because they make everything a bit better. These books put a smile on your face no matter what’s been bugging you before. You won’t find any kind of drama in these wonderful books and they are a lot of fun to read. Okay, maybe they should come with a warning label for possible side effects like: laughing your ass off, getting addicted, and getting horny, lol.

The Hard Boys meet Dr. Frankenseed had so many highlights for me that I have no idea where to begin with my praise. Most of the characters we knew already from the first book Alien Adbuction and those characters we just met in here are the perfect addiction to the Scooby Doo like gang.

One of my absolute favorite parts sure was learning more about them as kids, how they met growing up in Ravencrest, which had also been the parallel to Ian Cadena’s Nexus series and gave me hope for a crossover of the two series somehow. The romance between Justin and Ethan and their public display of affection had been so heartwarming and sure left me wanting more.

The most hilarious moments had been the German inputs from Dr. Frankenseed, things like “Scheibenkleister” or “did you burn your Schnitzel”, had me laughing out loud, seeing as German is my mother tongue.

Thank you for this wonderful read Ian Cadena!

Only a mad genius could reference Game of Thrones, Sharknado and Inspector Gadget all in the same book! And the author still manages to reference the original Frankenstein film in a very clever, ingenious fashion. To say I loved this book would be an understatement, because I laughed from the start to the end. Three! Thats all I'm going to say on the matter! And my favourite line of all time, "Did you burn your schnitzel?" GENIUS! The addition of Sarah and Frankie to the team really completes the Scooby vibe and the underlying story of a father trying to save his child's life is a touching one. And what of Usher House and the Key? In the words of Oliver Twist Mr Cadena, "Please, sir, can I have some more?" Funny, clever, erotic, this book is a worthy addition to the genre of MM, but more than that, I think this is a genre in its own right and that the author has created something here that is exciting and unique. So get writing. I need more. NOW!

A great book by Ian Cadena, The Hard boys, Justin and Ethan Hard (not related) investigate another strange case when the town starts having blackouts for a unknown reason. Justin and Ethan are experiencing problems sexually and go and see a Doctor.
Dr Frankenseed thinks he has the solution but has to undertake more testing. Brandon has developed an extra talent from his encounter with the aliens, I loved this part, I hope Mr Cadena can work his magic in future books to explore this.
Oh and I still love the adorable Sparky.
To find out what the cause of the black outs is you gotta read this book.

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing gay erotic fiction
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on June 30, 2020
I’m not sure why I bought these two books about the “Hard Boys”, but having read some gay erotic fiction previously, I had hoped they would be enjoyable and entertaining. Unfortunately the story lines were punctuated by an almost endless stream of sex and it felt like a teenage boy’s sci-fi fantasy than an adult novel. Save your money.

5.0 out of 5 stars A funny sexy, sexy 2nd adventure!!

This as an absolutely fantastic follow up to the first book. A great take on the Dr Frankenstein story. It is so funny and sexual that my kindle fogged up. The author's description of the characters and the tongue in cheek story are excellent. I highly recommend this book, it will take you on a great adventure with lots of laughs and sexy encounters! Thank you once again Ian Cadena.
