Publisher Description
Bodyguard.
Mercenary.
Gun for hire.
I didn't care what you called it, the end result was always the same.
You paid me for a job, you got results. The Marines trained me to shoot, but life taught me to aim. Working for the best personal security firm in the business was a stepping stone. Put in my time, build the resume, then move on. I didn't do attachments, on any level.
Until a smoking-hot former one-night stand crossed the street in front of me, holding hands with a kid who was my spitting image. She tried to play it off, deny he was mine. She said she didn't even remember me, right before she picked her kid up and ran. She thought she'd made a clean escape.
But she was about to find out how merciless a bodyguard could be.

See AllGarrett needs to chill
I really like all these books, some I am re-reading, like this one. I still have a hard time getting into their relationship after all the drama. He was a total a-hole to her after discovering her and finding out a lot about her situation. She wasn’t there voluntarily or did anything to him voluntarily and he was still a complete tool. He even said it himself but then still was mean to her, at the hospital and when he came home. He needed to soften a little more and truly be understanding. He irked me too much for me to give into the reconciliation. She deserved better.
Always Liked Collins!!!
Even though I’ve read the Alpha Elite Bodyguards series out of a sequence, but I kinda glad I read Collins’s story. Next to Talon, Collins is sort of another comic relief with his true to life philosophy regarding categorize two types of women: bleeders and trouble. In his experience in his own story, the woman whom he had a one night stand but was the only woman whom he truly loved, ultimately broke his heart by walking out on him and keeping his son a secret for three years?!? Brookelyn wasn’t exactly a great character and unfortunately, I think in hindsight Collins deserved can do so much better. But unfortunately, there were surrounding circumstances that made Brookelyn’s poor judgment and bad life choices that managed to recapture Collins’s heart again after being separated from each other for three years. I’ve always loved the previous characters from the other bodyguards books like Talon, Andre, Marek, Sawyer, Tyler and briefly introducing Ty Asher who was later have his own story in Fearless. I liked Collins but Brookelyn not so much.
Great read!
Loved this story and is my favorite, so far.
