One drunken night and one case of mistaken identity turn a friendship inside out...

You’ve seen the hockey twins around campus--they look identical, but you can tell them apart by their actions. Patrick is the one who’s busy charming women. Paxton is the one in the library.

Until one night when Paxton parties a little harder than usual. Next thing he knows, he’s waking up naked next to Naomi, the girl of his dreams. He bares his heart before an awful realization sets in. He’s not the twin she thought he was...

Naomi is the only child of a hockey legend. Partying hard is the best way she knows how to rebel against her controlling father. After a particularly crazy night, she realizes her big mistake. Her hookup isn’t the guy she’s been crushing on. It’s Paxton, her friend, the guy who gets her, who she can always count on. The guy she’d never want to hurt. And yet, the sex was good. Better than good.

Now she’s wondering if the wrong twin might be the right one after all . . .

𝐒𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐑𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 - 𝐇𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐲!
After a drunken night and steamy attraction between Pax and Naomi, their friendship is strained and Pax is stuck between two worlds. Keeping his head in the game and wanting the girl he can’t have. Naomi is one confused puppy after having the best night of her life but not with the person she expected. Her world has turn upside down. Stuck between trying to follow every direction her father is pressuring her to take rather than following what her heart wants. These two go through so many obstacles mainly because Naomi is so confused and can’t get it together. I’m not a fan of love triangles and this kinda has that a bit. Overall it was good once Naomi got it together.

    Paxton and Naomi
He’s always played second fiddle to his brother, on the ice and off. She’s a people pleaser caught between what she’s told she wants and what she really does. Can they both break out of their shells and be who they are destined to be?

This book was so good! There were times I wanted to throw the kindle when they were dealing with their parents, and times I was metaphorically sitting on the edge of my seat as they struggled with their own feelings. I really enjoyed that they both had to figure out who they were and not just one of them. It’s so age appropriate to be unsure of themselves. I really think it’s important that this book showed Naomi trying to change her physical appearance to be wanted and that Paxton makes it a point that he likes her better when she’s her natural self. Such an important message! Paxton and Naomi’s love story is a nice twist on the friends to lovers trope and definitely one I enjoyed reading. It was also super fun to see some familiar faces.

Watching the push and pull between Paxton and Patrick makes me even more excited to read Patrick’s story now! If you haven’t already... go get this book... you won’t regret it!

It was a good story! Some of the sibling related dialogue was a little cringey though. Felt like it was constantly mentioned that they were twins, and called each other “bro” way too often for actual siblings, but it was a cute story and had a good, well foreshadowed ending!

(also cringed anytime a woman is referred to as a “female” but that’s probably personal preference)

Naomi has had a crush on Moo U hockey player Patrick. Forever! And that’s part of the problem. He IS a player! Paxton his twin brother has been her best friend forever too. She’s even complained and cried to him about his brother, all the while Paxton has had a crush on Naomi and SHE doesn’t See HIM! Until one drunken night, His dream of being with Naomi comes true! Until she realizes she slept With the wrong brother! She slept with Paxton her BFF, not her long time crush Patrick. Or did she?? The night was sizzling and gives her much to think about . It’s confusing but she’s drawn to both for different reasons Tired of living in his twin brothers shadow, Paxton, through some advice from his coach, starts to emerge as his own man. Playing stronger than ever before. Is THAT why Naomi has a sudden and more intense interest in him? Or was it there all along. Either way he can’t get that one perfect night out of his head. Because the heart always wants what the heart wants. Great story! Can’t wait till the next one!!

I was excited to read Patrick and Paxtons story but it was a hard book to get through
First of all the writing. The author doesn't trust the reader to figure out anything on their own. Every single line is filtered and explained, even if we have heard the reason many times before. If feels like no editor was involved in this book. Identical phrases are repeated in close proximity.
The dialogue was awful. The author was trying to show off her vocabulary but that's not how college students talk. For example:
"My dad has no such predilections. He sees dollar signs and status when he looks at Patrick and, to a lesser extent, me.” Do you really expect us to believe a 21 year old used this in casual conversation? And we know their age because the phrase "making out like the horny college students we are" us used at least three times.
I was bored and over the book by the 40% mark. Lack of communication is the worst plot device to keep people apart and I couldn't imagine why they were interested in each other and refused to act on it. There were no actual barriers to them being together. Why Naomi was crushing on Patrick was never really explained.
If she was such a good friend with Pax how could she not tell the difference between them? Why pax didn't sit his twin down at any point and explain his new game strategy is beyond me and why didn't the coach discuss it with Patrick? How is he expected to adjust if he doesn't know what's going on? I especially hated the end. Dragging out the breakup in favor of a meaningless theatrical "grand gesture" weeks later, instead of having an honest conversation is sooo stupid. And I agree with everyone who said - that's not how PTSD works. You can't just brush off a paralyzing fear.
I loved Sarina Bowens books but the spin off books are proving disappointing

Naomi has had a crush on Patrick for a while but is good friends with his twin Paxton. One night at a party she sleeps with Paxton, thinking he's Patrick. When Naomi realises the truth she's conflicted and sets out to work out what she really wants! Paxton has had a crush on Naomi for a while and when theatrically take the next step, he's overjoyed until he realises she thinks he's Patrick! Can they find a way to repair their friendship or is there something more waiting for them? This was a great read that wasn't all happiness and light, It was filled with conflict, self doubt and huge decisions. The characters were fun and slightly angsty but trying to be who they were meant to be

3.0 out of 5 stars "Be careful with what you wish" - Naomi, Gametime
Reviewed in Brazil on May 1, 2021
Okay so 3 stars because I think the development of the book was weird, kind of. It seemed that they were never together, always something coming between. Words didn't mean anything for them sometimes which is not nice. Everybody kept giving the worst advices ever (Ice's was terrible, focus only on hockey? Please). All the characters kept saying always the wrong things. Talking trash for them all the time, and they listened..
Their fathers were insanely bad (this is just a comment though, their hard relationships with their fathers were crucial to the couple).
Patrick is one of the main reasons I didn't quite liked the book. He is so bad, like really a prick. Crude and unbearable. Which is not the reality. In Patrick's book we see that he is not like that. He is actually a very nice guy. I blame this divergence on the different authors. They should have worked more together to come up with a character that looked the same in both books. I was a little bit nervous with the twins since I started this series because I knew they would have their own books and it would be extremely hard for them to be connected and without differences. The basics and some the details were the same in both books, but I am talking about the personality and energy of the character, totally different. If I had read this book first I don't know if I would have wanted to read Patrick's book after. I personally hate characters that give you that vibe, so rude and always putting Pax down.
Regardless everything it was good to get to know Pax and Naomi. Pax's journey was something beautiful to see. Someone seeking for his own identity.

I loved Paxton in slaphot. His identical twin Patrick is the star of the hockey team. Naomi is his close friend but she has a crush on Patrick. The story is about how both of them mature and change and discover who they are.

Paxton is a twin & after having a little too much fun one night, he wakes up next to Naomi. Turns out Naomi also had a little too much fun & when she wakes up, she sees that he’s not the person she’d thought he was, she had thought he was the twin he looks so much alike....

Instead, she’d gone to bed with a good friend of hers... Oops!

But did this mistake make everything... right?

Pax’s father was... something else, along with Naomi’s father, too. Ugh! So annoying...

I’m not sure an arena would be open to hockey players in the middle of the night, so in order to be more realistic, the skate between Pax & Trick should have been done during the day.

Still, this was a nice story to read.

I received this free ARC, and this is my honest review.
