Halftime: A Moo U Hockey Romance Kindle Edition

4.1 out of 5 stars 642 ratings

There’s no halftime in hockey, but maybe there’s one in love…

Drunk dialing your girlfriend to tell her that you didn’t really cheat is a bad idea--a lesson Seb Hunter learned the hard way. It was no surprise when she cut him completely out of her life. Now he’s finally moved on, and he’s looking forward to sophomore year at Moo U. Until his ex arrives on campus.

For goalie Faith Devereaux, cheating is a hard pass. She grew up knowing all too well how destructive infidelity can be. She’s gotten over Seb and picked the college of her dreams. The fact that he’s a student there will not be a problem. Hockey is her priority. Not guys, not dating, definitely not exes.

But when an exhibition game forces them into close proximity, it isn’t long before their old attraction flares. Regaining trust is hard, though, when the heart plays a good defensive game.

But when the goal is love, one more shot might be all they need.

    Faith and Seb
They have a messy past and a failed first attempt at Love. Now they have a second chance, but can they make it work?

In the words of my new favorite supporting character, “The two of you are worse than Romeo and Juliet. If there were any poison around here, you’d both be dead.” This book really has all the angst, anger, sadness and happiness that I want from a College Romance! I really enjoyed reading Faith and Seb’s story. The twist on what happened and how her past plays into her perception is so well written. Especially how the thought of him cheating changed how she felt about herself and how she struggles to change her mindset. I really appreciated the fact of how even when he had the option to change- he still stayed true to himself and who he was, not giving in to the peer pressure from the team. Their happily ever after was so well deserved!
I absolutely adore Coop too and can’t wait to read his story! He was such a great friend to both of them.
    And that epilogue..... 😍

This book is another great addition to the Moo U series! I highly recommend it!

I was so hyped for this book because it was an all hockey romance! Faith, just as Seb, was a hockey player and I really wanted to read about her perspective, her struggles and experiences in hockey and of course their romance. Their story had a tricky premise and I was a little worried about that.

Seb was a great guy. Sweet, caring and still hung up on his ex: Faith. They had a major blow up soon after Seb started college but, even though Seb thought he had moved on, it was pretty clear that he still had feelings for her. I went into this thinking I would struggle with Seb, but the author did an amazing job with the circumstances surrounding their break up and with his character.  I loved him so much! I need to stop loving characters this much from the beginning, because that usually means it's harder to meet my high expectations regarding their love interest. Spoiler alert: It happened with this book. Cooper, Seb's hockey teammate and friend, was a great character too. I'm very curious about him, I want to understand why he was so invested in Seb and Faith's relationship. I hope we get his story!

Faith was a complex character. I loved Faith, the goalie - hockey player aspects, in the story. I loved the way the author showed the double standards for male and female athletes, this is such an important topic and I enjoyed it being exposed. I adored Faith's passion for hockey and how hard she fought for her dream. She was also a great team player and her story was very empowering. Unfortunately, she did annoy me, at times, mostly because of the way she handled Seb. I understood that she had major trust issues and she had her reasons for it. Her parents relationship was very dysfunctional, her mom and her dad were awful together, and Seb drunk dialing her, leading to their breakup (before the book started), didn't really help her with trusting. Honestly, I wasn't convinced Faith would trust Seb completely, no matter what he did. And I hated that for him. In spite of that, I really wanted them to be together and I rooted for them. I just doubted that Faith was ready to completely trust him (or any other love interest) at this point.

Then... the epilogue... I LOVED it. I cried when I read it. I can't put into words how much I truly loved it. It was PERFECT! Frankly, I was thinking about rating it 3 or 3.5 stars until the epilogue, but I ended up boosting it up to 4 stars. That epilogue... 😍😍😍

Overall, Halftime was a sweet, entertaining, empowering, interesting, well written story. I hope we get more books featuring Faith's teammates! I would love that!

This was actually more like a third chance romance and by far not my favorite book in the series. Still avoid book so I gave it 3 stars

Our relationships are patterns . Patterns we have learned all our lives from what we see but didn’t realize the impact they have on us. Until we begin repeating them. Sebastian and Faith have a long history of dysfunctional families where they feel they don’t belong. And an aching love of hockey that brings them together and binds them. Trust is huge to Faith. She’s watched her father cheat all her life. Unconditional love for just being himself, and a sense of belonging is crucial to Sebastian. These two are meant to be together. Like two pieces of a puzzle but there’s huge roadblocks in their future. Can they get through them? Around them? Can Faith learn to Trust with her whole heart and can Sebastian finally feel love for just being himself instead of an outsider. This is a GREAT story of a beautiful love and how our experiences shape us without our even realizing it. I totally loved this story and can’t wait for the next one!

Wow, I really enjoyed faith and Sebastian’s story. Cheating is such a tough subject matter but Kim really did a great job with that. The things that parents do and don’t realize can really change their children’s lives. I love the strength that Faith had to overcome her family and Sebastian did the same. Can’t wait for the next installment of Moo U.

Faith had broken up with her boyfriend Seb when she thought he had cheated on her. Fast forward a year and these two are playing for the men and women Moo U hockey teams. After friendly interference by a friend they reconcile but a lot of problems stand in their way, most of them caused by their families. Such an engrossing story that I couldn't put down as I was rooting for them. Another amazing Moo U book and this series is turning into my favourite series this year.

Faith and Seb had dated for a couple of years before a misunderstanding tore them apart. When they both end up at the same university, the chance to clear the air is evident and a friendship is formed. Their chemistry is still off the charts and both still love the other. Can they step away from the past to create a future? Will the perceived issues spiral and tear them apart? This was a good read that covered some serious topics and had the characters grow in both love and in their mental development
