Born in London, England, after some attempts at normal jobs, she eventually spent twenty-two years in the British Army, perfecting the art of looking busy whilst secretly writing. She retired at the rank of Major, and has temporarily settled in New Zealand to admire the scenery.

    Although she has no plans to return to the army, for which the army is probably very grateful, she can occasionally be caught polishing her medals.

    To date John has written 14 novels.
