Life is about what you make of it. You have to live it to the fullest no matter the circumstances.

From the author herself:

I have always loved books. Not only creating the stories, but reading them as well. Books transport me, and when I was younger, I would run into walls because I refused to put my books down even for a second. Take note, walking with books is not advised. LOL.

With my books, I just want to share my stories with the world. I want others to be transported or to feel the emotions my characters feel. That is my goal with my writing. If I can do that for one person, I succeeded.

Getting sick changed me and my life, but it also opened doors that I thought were closed.

3.5 stars rounded up to 4. So the Swan Princes is one of my favorite Grimm fairy tales. I was really excited to see this as a m/m book. The story was good. I found it fun that Lorde was sent to kill Max and wondered how it would be resolved. I liked that it wasn't immediate love. But it seemed at certain points people were just snapping at each other and running away for no reason. That just irritates me. I was left wondering about a few things, but all in all it was a an okay read.

Ms Maria did an awesome job of turning what starts as a fairytale into a happily ever after. I recommend reading this book.

This is the first book that I've read by this author and I really enjoyed it! This is Max and Lorde's story and it's an intense one! Great secondary characters, engaging, romantic and a well written story. I read an advanced copy of this book and this is my unbiased review!

Fun read from a new to me author!

This was a well written modern day fairytale. Max and Lorde are descendants of both the swans and the witches from the "original" Grimm fairytale. Max fears anyone finding out that he can become a swan and Lorde's mother has trained him all his life to take out the swan "prince". I really enjoyed these characters, and it is dual POV so we get to see each of their thoughts as they meet and have feelings to work through. This is very much a slow burn but I think it fits well with this story and overall the spice is like a 2.5 out of 5 heat. I debated taking a star off because, honestly, I'm still not sure I fully understand what was supposed to have happened in the "original" story to make these families enemies. It's a bit he said she said kind of thing and a little convoluted. However, I ended up giving it 5 stars because in the end it doesn't really impact how Max and Lorde interact with each other or develop their relationship. I thought the side characters were also really well done and it was just a fun story to get lost in!

This is an interesting take on the fairy tale of the six swan princes. That has never been my favorite fairy tale due to the extra degrees of cruelty involved over the curse, and the method the princess had to go through to save them. Grimm tales are never very happy tales but those have always fascinated me. This retelling takes them into modern day as descendants of both sides of the story. These men are both struggling with the past and with the half truths surrounding the origin of the curse. Max and Lorde both have to decide which is more important, true destiny or what someone else has decided for you.

I'm rounding this up from 3.5. This is a cute fairytale retelling. I did enjoy the overall story but there were a few things that didn't work well for me.

I received an ARC and this is my unbiased opinion

Max, has been living under the family curse all his life. He suppresses his inner swan keeping him landlocked until he is no longer able and must let him fly. Lorde, is sent to eliminate the last swan shifter, Max by his Mom, Kelly the head of the family. Max's family is blamed for Lorde's family misfortunes, their loss of Honor Lorde, and Max go on a cat and mouse journey as they formally meet, get to know each other, make decisions and choices looking for solutions. Fun story. Lots of fun family and friends and some not so fun. Excellent job, well done! I received an ARC and am happily and voluntarily leaving a review.
