Sherlock Holmes and the Mycroft Incident (The Early Casebook of Sherlock Holmes 7) Kindle Edition
Should you mix family and business…?
1877
A trusted government courier, Anthony Cloudsdale, has gone missing after delivering some secret documents.
The police are questioning everyone who works at Whitehall, and their attention has been drawn to a young clerk, Joshua Emmett, who is in need of funds and might have been vulnerable to bribery.
Emmett is an old schoolfriend of Mycroft Holmes and Mycroft approaches his private-investigator brother, Sherlock Holmes for help.
Holmes and Mycroft collaborate with the assistance of Holmes’ trusted friend Mr Stamford, but each time they discover new information about Cloudsdale’s disappearance, it appears to provide evidence of Emmett’s involvement.
And when a body is found in the Thames, Emmett is arrested.
But is the body Cloudsdale’s? Can Sherlock prove Emmett’s innocence?
Or is Mycroft trying to protect a guilty man…?

- Reviewed in the United States on July 2, 2024Format: KindleVerified PurchaseYet another great story of Holmes's early life. This tale is a, without giving too much away, dark and mysterious one. As always with this author we get taken on a grand adventure throughout London. Rhis time to some places we've not seen before, at least not in these stories. Familiar faces show up, the most notable is Mycroft. He sends our two characters off on a mystery within a mystery. I give high praise to this author for showing us a part of Holmes we all have speculated about.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great read!
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseAnother great story from Linda Stratmann. I have read all the books in this series, and enjoyed them all, and this one is no exception. The characters are engaging, great plots and always a satisfying end to the story. I enjoy the idea of getting to know a young Sherlock Holmes, and how his early experiences colour his character, personality, deduction and solving of cases.
