Never Mind - A Journey into Non-duality Kindle Edition
by Wayne Liquorman
Written by Wayne Liquorman with characteristic humor, irreverence and profound insight, this book provides a bold new look at the nature of existence. If one wants to remain in the moment, what does one do about the mind? Never mind! The mind does what the mind does. It is working and functioning perfectly, doing exactly what it has been designed and programmed to do.
The book hammers away at the basic misconceptions that bring about human suffering - I could have and should have done it differently, I am flawed, I am the author of my thoughts, feelings and actions.
Wayne's teaching points to the divine nature of everything that exists no matter how hurtful or painful it might be. According to Wayne everything is the perfect manifestation of the Source and it is in the acceptance of everything that peace is revealed. An indispensable addition to the spiritual library.
Excerpt from Chapter Three of Never Mind: A Journey Into Non-Duality
AS YOU ARE
Why do people do nasty things? Isn't it because they are not conscious enough? Shouldn't they be doing self-inquiry or some other practice to raise their consciousness?
Well, why aren't they more conscious? If they could be more conscious, there would be more peace and contentment in their lives. Why doesn't everyone become more conscious and have more peace, when all they have to do is sincerely ask, "Who Am I?" All there problems would be over! Why don't they do that? What is inhibiting the sincere asking of that one question that unlocks this incredible bonanza? This is where the inquiry I'm talking about starts.
I'm flawed. I'm weak. I haven't done it well enough. That's why it hasn't worked.
Well, let's start there: What is it about the way you are constructed that inhibits you from doing what you intend? You may not be able to say what it is, but there is some thing in you that inhibits your ability to do what you would like and, obviously, it's not within your control to remove it; otherwise, you would have removed it a long time ago. So, there is some thing over which you have no control that inhibits your action; some thing is dictating what is happening. What is this?
It's a strongly held notion in society that you can be other than you are; however, it's a notion that bears examining. Certainly, you can be other than you were - meaning that you can change - but can you be other than you are in the moment?

About the author

Wayne Liquorman (b. 1951) describes himself as being “completely ordinary.” He grew up in the suburbs of Los Angeles and then attended the University of Hawaii where he graduated with a BA in Creative Writing.
He then returned to Southern California, married, fathered two children and started an import/export business. A nineteen-year bout with active alcoholism and drug addiction ended spontaneously in 1985 leaving him sober and a spiritual seeker. His goal became to determine, “what power in the Universe could transform me so suddenly and against my will.” After 16 months of daily involvement with the Twelve Steps and intensive spiritual seeking, he met his guru, the retired president of the Bank of India turned Advaitic Sage, Ramesh S. Balsekar. He soon began publishing Ramesh’s books and arranging Ramesh’s speaking tours. Spiritual Awakening occurred for Wayne in April of 1989, soon after which he wrote the book NO WAY…for the Spiritually Advanced. He published the book under the pen name Ram Tzu because he didn’t want “a bunch of miserable seekers cluttering up my living room.”
Clearly, life had other plans for him. In 1996 Ramesh instructed Wayne to teach. When Wayne tried to convince Ramesh he was not suited to be a teacher, Ramesh answered his objections with the simple words, “if they come, talk to them!” People began coming and Wayne now spends half of each year traveling the world, talking about personal powerlessness and Advaita to groups of interested people (and often has a bunch of spiritual seekers cluttering up his living room when he is not traveling!) His Living Teaching and his powerful presence continue to touch the lives of many.
This is his fifth book.

- Reviewed in the United States on March 14, 2014Format: KindleVerified PurchaseAsk yourself this question (from Wayne): "Is anything I do ultimately sourced by me?" Or, alternatively, "Is it possible for this moment to be other than it is?" As you answer these questions, focus on what is happening now, not on concepts. Look closely at how your thoughts and actions arise in this moment. This inquiry, for me, results in resounding answers of "No" to both questions. Which then leads to a further question: Who, then, am I? Wayne's book led me to this line of inquiry, and for that I am deeply grateful.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 28, 2015Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseFabulous! Highly recommended for those curious about Avaita or on an advanced spiritual path. It is written in a way that even those new to spiritual studies can make movement. This is a book that I will read several times in the coming years. And, I can't really know that. LOL
- Reviewed in the United States on May 5, 2018Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseThis book really appeals to me. I could see where more orthodox people might not appreciate it, but to me, who likes the "don't know" approach, it is actually inspirational.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 5, 2013Format: KindleVerified PurchaseExcellent down to earth information that have inspired me to continue on this life journey. It awakened what I already know on the inside. I love the book and would recommend it to anyone asking the question "why am I here".

- Reviewed in the United States on July 27, 2020Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseNevermind is pretty much a repeat of waynes previous book What is but without any humor. the body that is wayne seemed to have changed modes loosing his humor when writing this book seems more of a cash out or in lol. nevermind reads like a stale dry text book and seems turned out as such. If you read What Is there is no reason to buy Nevermind.
this body has read all of the works of Ramesh S Balsekar , Wei Wu Wei, Nisargadatta Maharaj, & Ramana Maharashi i could find twice and wishes there were more available.
Nevermind is an easy read. understandably in any question and answer book there are repeat questions. usually there are rephrased different answers it literally seemed like this book was just copying and pasting and answer in that was previously answered a few pages before (in this body's opinion they should have just been edited out; it makes for a very boring longer read.
also since balsekar was waynes' guru there is a ton of repeat information but it is parroted/taken out of balsekar's talks word for word. including the farmer story. this book seems easily copied together to generate income a few added new unnecessary useless time line/number line analogy diagrams.
this body made it to about page 89 and then did not want to spend any more wasted non-insightful moments. very regretful purchase lol but that does not exist this body was suppose to buy this book and write this review. i would have rather read the other authors for the third time.
instead of wayne writing books repeating all of balsekar's talks this body would be interested in stories that are not in the talks of which should be plenty since they spent years together.
(all the other authors do not parrot each other or themselves with the exact same copied information for the most part the information/concepts are given in a different insightful fashion with plenty of humorous moments. )
