New Blood (The Godbearer Book 4) Kindle Edition
Too much? Me being a demigod now and all, I figure I can get away with a pinch of melodrama.
I mean, have you seen Olympus? It's a damn soap opera up there. One I'd rather be watching on the couch with popcorn than playing a starring role in.
Not that things are much better down here. I'm still in denial over being madly in love with Cameron, the likely father of my twin babies and the far more evil twin of one of my three boyfriends. Because self-destruction is my brand, apparently.
Fortunately, so is being a vampire-taming, totally badass witch, and I'm going to do whatever it takes to keep my weird little cult-slash-family safe. And convince Cameron he belongs in the circus with the rest of us.
No biggie, right?
(Jk, send help. And nachos. I've been craving those lately.)

Author's Note: New Blood is the fourth book in the Godbearer series, which should be read in order. Vampire mayhem, snark, and hot MMM+ scenes abound.

- Reviewed in the United States on November 19, 2024Format: KindleVerified PurchaseOK my two cents:
With all the drama in this series being centered around the harem it feel weird to add outside forces to the story now. I think this should have been the last book, with chase giving in to hades as idk a consort and hades agree to coexist with the harem and then them taking a stance together against Zeus. I felt like Cameron's time was cut too short to all of sudden add a potential new member without exploring his status among the current harem. Having Alex,Sam ,Cyrus and Cameron rebuild their relationship in an Odessey style instead of a war among the heavens set up feels more logical compared to the complete 180 that happen at the end. I mean chase and hades would probably have come to an understanding by the time the harem made it to the underworld .

- Reviewed in the United States on February 29, 2024Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI know the Bro and the Beast series is currently on the front burner, but I hope we get this last book soon!
I've binged all these books in the last 2 days. They're so unique and interesting, with captivating world building.
I love the humor in these books as well. I'd say Poor Alex, but he kind of does deserve it.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 16, 2023Format: KindleVerified PurchaseWell ok then, lets get to this shall we?
Spoilers ahead, lots of them.
Stop reading here if you don't want to see them.
This story starts out with finding out that Hades, Chase's uncle, has the hots for him. Not in a creepy way, more of a he's gonna be part of the harem kind of way. He is also Ichor's brother? I think.
This one picks up immediately after book 3, as we are used to by now, with Chase astroprojecting, as one does, while dealing with Ichor, the original bad goddess of the story. During the fight, he is slapped into the body of Cameron, the twin and father of one of the twins currently being gestated by Chase.
Side note, too many names starting with C in here. I'm writing this all from memory so there may be errors.
Anyways, this begins the getting Cameron to fall for Chase road trip, which goes on for too long. Yes, after everything Cameron has done, Chase still wants him in the harem.
The other fellows are doing their best to get Chase back in his body, and while doing this, we get a drive by sex scene by the mcs of Lightbringer.
Things happen and we again have no resolution of course as Hades has taken Chase and the harem try again to get him back.
I'm not going to lie, it took forever for me to read this. There was a lot of words for very little movement of the story. I personally did not laugh much and the fact that Chase has become the ultimate Mary Sue wasn't enough to keep my attention.
You do need to read this to understand what happens next, but to me, it just wasn't the same as the other books.

Wow! Chase is in quite the predicament. He's still his amazing self. It will be super interesting to see how things continue. I'm very intrigued by it all. Great story. Great characters. Can we get book five super duper soon?!?!? Pretty please with a cherry on top!
- Reviewed in the United States on October 16, 2023Format: KindleVerified PurchaseAmazing books!
I read all of them in less than a week!
I'm not a harem stories kinda person but I loved it. It's rare for me to be so hook by a series like that.
I think it's the first time reading it.
Please, can someone tell when the book 5 will come out?

5.0 out of 5 stars Fighting the Gods
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThis is the penultimate book in the series, the one before the big finale. Between the sex, the snark, the fighting and the danger, we meet old gods.
This is like a sexy poly Percy Jackson for adults - and the particular scenes when Cameron comes into play with Chase are hilarious.
I look forward to the big ending.

5.0 out of 5 stars The author is creative
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseJoel's books were hidden gems. I had so much fun with Bro and the Beast that I just had to go into other books of his while waiting for the next installment. Jokes on me because now I'm waiting for the last one in this series too.
Joel's writing is really something. It's fun, it's light and not vapid. You can clearly see his characters speak to him as he writes, not exactly a planned plot from the get go. But he does make it work. I am really glad I've found these books. Waiting for Chase and his (hopefully) five men now. I like Hades. Sue me.
