Night Dragon: An Epic Fantasy Adventure (The Dragon Misfits Book 6) Kindle Edition

4.4 out of 5 stars 1,072 ratings

A true misfit may be the key to finally defeating Lorach, but only if Jason learns its powers in time.

Having stopped Lorren and saving the egg, Jason now faces his most dangerous threat as Lorach moves on Dragon Haven.

With the city under attack from a strange new power, only with an understanding of the misfit dragons will Jason—and the dragons—finally be free. When even Dragon Haven seeks to use their power, Jason is forced to make a choice between the people who took him in and the dragons he pledged to protect.

For Jason, long a misfit himself, the choice is more difficult than he ever imagined. One choice means Lorach will extend their influence beyond their borders and continue their reign of devastation, but the other means the misfits will be sacrificed.

You will have read the first 5 books, enjoyed the story, liked the style of writing and will want to read the conclusion and resolution. I enjoyed and felt satisfied with this 6th book.
The fascination with fantasy stories is that the story and how problems are solved can take a magical and unexpected twist. This can also be a reason for feeling dissatisfied if the easy solution is to bring in something too unbelievable.
I was happy with how Holmberg finishes the story.

If you haven't read the first 5 books in the series then go back and read the reviews of the first couple of books. If you like what you are told begin reading and you are likely to get hooked.

The first 3 books grab you and take you down a path that keeps you hooked. The character development is good especially in book 1-2. There’s a lot of twists and excitement to keep you reading.

The only reason I didn’t given this series and this book a 5 star rating is I felt it got redundant. There were numerous typos and even sometimes the wrong name was used for a character in a scene!

The last 2 books seemed rushed.

Another flaw was the repetitive nature of the language. It was almost like the author needed to make a word count for the book. He kept saying the main character needed to understand more etc. It got old.

Personally I just skipped those lines that were redundant or repetitive.

If you’re looking for a good series - this is one. This author is one of my favorites. I would recommend these books to anyone.

I wish more thought was taken with the last 2-3 books in this series.

A very good tale. Jason is a young man raised in the cold North mountains. Jason stumbled upon a mountain cave with an occupant he was not expecting. Jason meets an Ice Dragon, his life changed to one of Dragon partner. Jason bonds with Ice, Iron Forest and several more dragons. A great adventures worth six books!

I am a bit mad at the ending, but I loved the story. Some of this one really seemed rushed and not thought through very well. I won't say it was the best book or series I've ever read, but it is worth the read and I enjoyed getting to know the characters. I would recommend this to a friend.

I really loved the story. I also loved the way he concluded it. The reason that I only gave 3 stars is because of the writing. I became frustrated with the constant repetition of thoughts and phrases that did not add at all to the story. I know keeping them out would have made for a shorter story, but sometimes less is more.

Congratulations to D.K. Holmberg for this amazing series. It’s extremely hard to find such an interesting and exciting author who not only writes intelligently but also provides top rated plots, characters and excitement in the stories.

Well paced series that keeps moving forward as all the Misfit's try to find their place in a world of danger !

Jason has become more than he ever thought he could be.
He wants to save all the dragons. Dragon bones become
Something very magical. What he does in the dragon one years is very magical. In the end he thinks of himself as. Misfit.
His relationship with janeya grows and they work together to
Overpower Jessica. This has been a real page turner. As I got into the story I could not put it down.

I waited till I read all the series before I was going to review them. It took me 2 books to get into the story, but we'll worth it. It has been left open for more adventures. A book for all.

Throughout most of this series the story has been really engaging & interesting, but as the series has developed the story has become more brief & there has been more & more repetition as padding. That gets really irritating & detracts from an excellent story. This episode is probably the worst of all in that regard, which is a shame as there are new elements that have kept the story fresh. If you’ve made it this far I’m sure you’ll want to find out how it ends, but be prepared to gloss over a lot of repetition. Hopefully one day the series will be reworked & can be as fantastic as it has potential to be.
