About the author

Uvi Poznansky is a USA TODAY bestselling, award-winning author, poet and artist. “I paint with my pen,” she says, “and write with my paintbrush.” Her romantic suspense box set, Love Under Fire, made the USA TODAY bestselling list, as did her medical thriller box set, Do No Harm; and her romance box set, A Touch of Passion, was the 2016 WINNER of The Romance Reviews Readers' Choice Awards.
Education and work:
Uvi earned her B. A. in Architecture and Town Planning from the Technion in Haifa, Israel and practiced with an innovative Architectural firm, taking a major part in the large-scale project, called Home for the Soldier.
Having moved to Troy, N.Y. with her husband and two children, Uvi received a Fellowship grant and a Teaching Assistantship from the Architecture department at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. There, she guided teams in a variety of design projects and earned her M.A. in Architecture. Then, taking a sharp turn in her education, she earned her M.S. degree in Computer Science from the University of Michigan.
She worked first as an architect, and later as a software engineer, software team leader, software manager and a software consultant (with an emphasis on user interface for medical instruments devices.) All the while, she wrote and painted constantly, and exhibited in Israel and California. In addition, she taught art appreciation classes. Her versatile body of work includes bronze and ceramic sculptures, oil and watercolor paintings, charcoal, pen and pencil drawings, and mixed media.

Ash Suspense Thrillers with a Dash of Romance is a suspense series. It includes Coma Confidential, Virtually Lace, and Overdose.
Still Life with Memories is a family saga series with touches of romance. The series includes My Own Voice, The White Piano, The Music of Us, Dancing with Air, and Marriage before Death.

The David Chronicles is a historical fiction series with a modern twist. It includes three novels--Rise to Power, A Peek at Bathsheba, and The Edge of Revolt--and six art through the ages collections, describing each moment of the story.
Her poetry book, Home, is in tribute to her father. Her collection of dark tales, Twisted, and her Historical Fiction book, A Favorite Son, are both new age, biblically inspired books. In addition, Uvi wrote and illustrated two children books, Jess and Wiggle and Now I Am Paper. For each one of these books, she created an animation video (find them on YouTube and on her Goodreads page.)

- Reviewed in the United States on June 30, 2025Format: KindleVerified PurchaseMs. Poznansky’s new children’s book, Now I am Paper (Imaginata) is a splendidly written book and illustrated book, that takes you on a journey into the heart and soul of a tree.
The moving poetry speaks of the loneliness of the tree when the child has left it behind, and the birds no longer come to the nests they had left behind.
It took me straight into the spirit and thoughts of the tree, and I loved every word and water colour painting.
I adore Ms. Poznansky’s lyrical writing style, it always takes me into new worlds and brings me into each character and the story or in this case the tree, and I live it for a while. This book will stay with me for a very long time.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 26, 2017Format: KindleVerified PurchaseMuch about this book I like--the flow of the lines combined with the simple yet moving illustrations. But I also felt it lacked a closer connection with the boy. Events and transformations just happened--from tree to paper. I guess I'm thinking more along the impact of THE GIVING TREE. A few of the poetic lines could've been a bit more "poetic;" they didn't quite flow or grip my emotions. For instance: "They pressed, they grinded...." That should be "ground," past tense of grind. Another example: "...you climbed my gnarled root." The root is in the ground, so we don't climb it.
Yet, this book draws me with a nostalgic feeling of childhood. Although it seems to be for young readers and listeners, older folks like me can "feel" it through the poetry and illustrations.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 7, 2017Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThis is just simply a delightful flight of fancy. Uvi Poznansky's, Now I Am Paper feels like one of those classics that never grows old, and unless you make the mistake of growing up, no reader will ever grow too old to appreciate its story of love and loss, fear and hope, death and rebirth in a new form, as the old tree is transformed first into pulp and then to paper, the very paper from which the child reads this story.
The story is golden, and the language is beyond price. Perfect for reading aloud to children, and if you haven't any of those little critters handy, to anyone who has a heart!
This may be a children's book, but as an adult, I absolutely enjoyed reading it. It has a nostalgic feel to it that's all but missing in todays publishing world. This is probably one of the nicest children's books I've come across in recent times. Five stars and recommended.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 7, 2017Format: KindleVerified PurchaseNow I am Paper is a beautifully illustrated rhyming book that is both heartbreaking and uplifting. The book reminds me a little too much of the Giving Tree, but it is lovely nonetheless.
Be sure to check the compatibility of the book to your devise. It is not compatible with the Kindle App on my iPhone or with my Kindle eReader. I read it on a Kindle Fire.

- Reviewed in the United States on May 18, 2018Format: KindleVerified PurchaseIt is seldom that one finds a treasure that has the power to delight young and old readers at the same time. Uvi Poznansky delivers with an enchanting story enriched by the original artwork that accompanies it. The dazzling watercolors are guaranteed to fascinate children while adults will find themselves lost in the sensitive emotions that wind their way in and out of the story of a child and a tree.
The author takes poetic license with her rhyming scheme, and I loved the way the rhythm of the poetry wins out over the chosen words. The Gothic fonts match the mood of the book, with sweeping loops that mimic the tree and leaves. I found the idea of writing the description on a leaf drawing very original. If you are reading the book on a Kindle Fire and find the text difficult to read, you can bring up a box with normal text with a simple double-click.
This is a nice, simple tale with a learning opportunity at the end. Five stars.

- Reviewed in the United States on February 22, 2017Format: KindleVerified PurchaseNice story and beautiful pictures. However, it was very difficult to read the words. It would be nice if the font was set up for electronic reading. As a printed book I imagine it would not be an issue. Reminded us of Shel Silverstein's book of a very similar plot.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lovely Children’s Story Book
Format: KindleVerified Purchase“Now I Am Paper” is a really nice little children’s rhyming story book. The story teaches key topics of life in a way that children can understand. It also contains lovely illustrations that are actual watercolour paintings hand-drawn by the author herself. Kids will enjoy reading this again and again.

4.0 out of 5 stars Wonderfully illustrated
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThis is a short book which I wish I had in paperback for children and young people to borrow; so help them enjoy and appreciate the raw materials of a book more.
It is a simple story told in verse about a boy who plays in and makes a friend of a tree.
It is wonderfully illustrated and briefly reminded me of bygone years of reading Rupert the Bear.
