Q – So what makes The Doms of Passion Lake series so special?

I created the series to reflect the types of books I love to read. Love stories featuring BDSM, alpha men and strong, submissive women, with some heart-stopping action and suspense thrown into the mix. The Doms of Passion Lake are a group of former Navy SEALs who buy a bankrupt, derelict town in rural Virginia and turn it into a thriving resort community. They are all Dominants who live the D/s lifestyle. Some of them are in menage relationships, some are bisexual, all are hot and hunky and looking for love. But the stories are more than just erotic romances. They are thrill rides of adventure and suspense. When danger closes in, threatening both themselves and the women they love, these men spring into action, drawing upon the highly-specialized skills they learned in the military in a life-and-death struggle for their very survival.

Each book in the series is a stand-alone story although time does pass from one book to the next and the characters visit back and forth in each other’s books. You may read them in any order. But if you want to read them in order, then I recommend the following sequence:

Julie Shelton was born in Connecticut, and has lived in seventeen places in eight different states. Her first masterpiece was a play titled "Fairies In The Garden", a work that included music, ballet, magic wands and, of course, fairies. She and her sister acted it out in the dining room for their doting parents. She was six. And she's been writing ever since, including "Kidstuff", a monthly language arts newsletter for early childhood educators that won the prestigious 1982 EDPRESS Award, and "Puppets, Poems and Songs" a 288-page storytelling and puppetry resource for preschool and early elementary teachers.

Now she writes erotic romances with elements of BDSM and lots of scorching hot sex. Not a single fairy or magic wand in sight.

She is inspired by beautiful music (preferably classical, although movie soundtracks, folk music of the 60's, light rock and the rock ballads of the '80's are right up there), beautiful scenery, ballet, Medieval illuminated manuscripts and everything she's ever done, heard, read or seen. A blue gown worn by a minor female character in the movie "Becket" inspired a Medieval romance novel--she couldn't write it down fast enough. Written entirely on 3 x 5 index cards, (don't ask), it is still sitting in two shoe boxes on her closet shelf. As for the OTHER romance novel written on index cards--she dropped the boxes containing that one, spilling all the cards helter-skelter onto a rain-soaked driveway. She still has it, but is afraid to open the boxes and look. Who said writing is easy?

    The books in this series just keep getting better. My favorite part is that the author keeps you up to date on beloved characters from previous books. This series makes me feel like I’m binge watching a Netflix show episode after episode, needing to keep reading to see what happens next and getting upset that there is only one more book to go before the waiting begins.     I can't tell you how much I enjoy the Dom's of Passion Lake series. I have read them all and anxiously await the next book in the storyline. The characters are well developed and there is lots of steam, heat!
